Pretty happy to find Love, Creekwood today at the second hand store. After I have read it, it will go in the school library collection. $2.49
Received two parcels from Allen & Unwin today. Both contained Facts and Other Lies by Ed Coper and The Cane by Maryrose Cuskelly
One meant for me and the other for someone else but both had my address.
Emailed Allen & Unwin to explain the situation and offered to post the extra books to the intended recipient if providing me with her address did not breach their privacy rules.
Allen & Unwin responded that they would send replacement copies to the intended recipient and that I could keep the extra copies to pass on to friends or family.
My sister's birthday is on 9th February so she will be getting a little extra for her birthday,
It's finally my turn! I've been waiting quite some time to be next in line for this library copy: Taste: My Life through Food by Stanley TucciIn the mail from A&U

I collected a reserve from the library: A Mouse Called Miika by Matt Haig

and Em & Me by Beth Morrey, which I'd been notified I'd won on 10th Jan, so took 32 days (but tracking says it was mailed 9th Feb so perhaps my "this hasn't come yet" emails did something)

Oh my goodness, were they local delivery Brenda? Must have been supply chain issues.
No they were from the UK Diana, that's why I ordered them with (what I thought) plenty of time! They also told me they left their warehouse on 18/11/21 so who knows where they've been. They were still in good condition when they arrived though :)

I'd already re-bought them and gave them to the girls for their birthdays instead!! Now I have two extras which I'll probably donate :)
Collected from the free library locker after my plasma donation, I see it as a little reward as they no longer give out the Big Bikkie:A Place Like Home by Rosamunde Pilcher.
Another author Suzanne should try....
Collected my reserve from the library:Love in the Time of Bertie.
When mum was still alive, she really looked forward to each new book in Alexander McCall Smith's Scotland Street series. I'm assuming that she did eventually read the whole book, but I'm pretty sure she skipped to all the chapters featuring Bertie Pollock first off: she did call them The Bertie Books.
Will think of mum as I read this one, especially the Bertie chapters.
Woot woot Yay! I just won a copy of: The Gosling Girl by Jacqueline Roy
From Tracey Allen @carpe_librum1
So excited! This sounds like a real page turning read 🤓

Oh, I love her, Marianne! The Shell Seekers was the book that led me to GR years ago. I googled the book on the way home from summer holidays. The rest, they say, is history! It's amazing our GR friends, particularly The Book Whisperer, knows our tastes. Mightily impressed Marianne.
