Actually I've already read Carmilla but some time ago and as I liked it a lot I will be doing a re-read ;-) But The Night Circus will be a discovery and I'm eager to start reading it! ;-)

Hi Cynda! Okay, that's perfect!^^ I'm not sure I will be ready right away to start january 1st to read The Sorceress, it will depend on the progress I make on the book by Marianne Frederiksson I'm currently reading. But I will let you know in time in any case :-)

Cynda | 5192 comments Okay Irphen. Sounds good. We read when you can.

Thank you Jillian!^^ I will see how I enjoy Walden but it seems very interesting! :-)

message 16: by Irphen (new)

Irphen | 389 comments Well, i'm not exactly making a lot of progress and quite honestly I was expecting I would have read more of all those books by now so I won't most certainly be able to complete this challenge. However it's always more about reading and enjoying so I will just go on with this little slow pace and we will see how things work out :-) I will probably complete the short story challenge and maybe with a bit of luck ( and some chances along the way ) also the Old and New challenge!

Irphen I think you are doing well. You have made quite a lot of progress on your Old and New Challenge. I have never completed one of those. I think they are very hard to do.

Thank you Lynn! This year I decided to start off with the Old school classics as that is often the hardest part for me and I kind of fill in the Wild cards along the way ( according what I'm reading with no plan ahead, often works better with me! ;-p ) ;-)

message 19: by Irphen (new)

Irphen | 389 comments Time for some little check up! I've completed the Old & New challenge ( I must confess I managed to do so by changing a few books in it from my initial plans but still fiting the theme so I guess that isn't too much of a naughty trick ;-p ) and even the others aren't in too bad a shape! Maybe I will be able to finsih my some what restrained buffet this year!! ;-)

message 20: by Irphen (new)

Irphen | 389 comments I just finished my short story challenge!! And this means I actually completed a3 out of 4 of my buffet challenges, not to bad!! :-)
I've completed Old & New, Short Stories and Expand your horizon :-) The only one who misses three books to be completed is Members Choice, I won't fool myself, this one won't be completed before the end of the year. Maybe next year I will finish all!
