03. A book with 22 or more letters in the title
My frontrunner for this prompt is The Cat Who Could Read Backwards. If I cave and read it before the year is out, I can just read one of the many books in the series. I also have The Utterly Uninteresting and Unadventurous Tales of Fred, the Vampire Accountant, but it works for another prompt (handwriting), so I think I will save it for that.
I've read many books with long titles, but I'm not sure about the absolute longest title I've read. A couple contenders (and recommendations):
If I Die in a Combat Zone, Box Me Up and Ship Me Home
The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires
Angie wrote: " I also have The Utterly Uninteresting and Unadventurous Tales of Fred, the Vampire Accountant, but it works for another prompt (handwriting), so I think I will save it for that."Fred the Vampire Accountant is amazing! I read the first two books and need to get back to the series.
For this one I have The Last House on the Street from NetGalley, but I also might do The Most Beautiful Girl in Cuba.
There are a few books I wanted to read but didn't make it to this year that fit this one:The 7½ Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle
The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue
The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao
A few options I have:Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie
The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo by Taylor Jenkins Reid
The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson
A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas
Girl, Stop Apologizing: A Shame-Free Plan for Embracing and Achieving Your Goals by Rachel Hollis
Things We Lost in the Fire by Mariana Enríquez
This Is How You Lose the Time War byy Amal El-Mohtar
I think there are a lot of great middle grade options for this prompt! I'm planning on reading Amari and the Night Brothers, but I might also choose On the Edge of the Dark Sea of Darkness by Andrew Peterson.
My options include:The School of Essential Ingredients - Erica Bauermeister
The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet - Becky Chambers
Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress - Dai Sijie
I'd recommend Ghost Stories of an Antiquary by M.R. James because they're pretty good ghost stories published in 1904 and Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, one of John Le Carre's excellent spy novels.
Some books that I have read and liked :Smoke Gets in Your Eyes & Other Lessons from the Crematory by Caitlin Doughty
The Empress of Salt and Fortune by Nghi Vo
The Tenant of Wildfell Hall by Anne Brönte
This Is How You Lose the Time War by Amal El-Mohtar and Max Gladstone
Fairytales of the Macabre by Olivie Blake
The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender by Leslye Walton
Some books on my tbr that I might use for this prompt:
Everyone in This Room Will Someday Be Dead by Emily R. Austin
The Miracles of the Namiya General Store by Keigo Higashino
Josh and Hazel's Guide to Not Dating by Christina Lauren
The Love Poems of Lord Byron: A Romantic's Passion by Lord Byron
Oh Sofia, I had forgotten about The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender, but it's so good and such an underrated book. Definitely recommend!
I recommend:The Signature of All Things - Elizabeth Gilbert
Slouching Towards Bethlehem - Joan Didion
Weird Things Customers Say in Bookshops - Jen Campbell
The Mirror Crack'd from Side to Side - Agatha Christie
Can't We Talk about Something More Pleasant - Roz Chast
Lillian Boxfish Takes a Walk - Kathleen Rooney
The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks - Rebecca Skloot
Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine - Gail Honeyman
I'm considering How to Marry Keanu Reeves in 90 Days or I Was a Stripper Librarian: From Cardigans to G-strings or A Libertarian Walks Into a Bear: The Utopian Plot to Liberate an American Town or The Widows of Malabar Hill or The Autobiography of Malcolm X or Drunk Flies and Stoned Dolphins: A Trip Through the World of Animal Intoxication or A Short History of Spaghetti with Tomato Sauce or English and British History in 100 Bite-Size Chunks or Best Women's Erotica of the Year, Volume 7 or The Trouble with Hating You or Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI or The Brightest Star in Paris or I Bring the Voices of My People: A Womanist Vision for Racial Reconciliation or The Indomitable Florence Finch: The Untold Story of a War Widow Turned Resistance Fighter and Savior of American POWs or The Care and Feeding of Waspish Widows. so basically I have no idea yet.
I'll be reading The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot.I have so many on my TBR that would qualify for this prompt, just on my plan for 2022 I have Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, A Natural History of Dragons, Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, A Most Peculiar Malaysian Murder and What Abigail Did That Summer.
There are so many long titled books that I've read and enjoyed, it makes narrowing them down for recommendations difficult! I'd say the best are The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet, My Sister Lives on the Mantelpiece, The Trouble with Goats and Sheep, Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine, We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves and my favourite read of 2021 The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue.
The Astonishing Color of AfterEverything here is beautiful

Kathy wrote: "My options include:The School of Essential Ingredients - Erica Bauermeister
The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet - Becky Chambers"
Two of my favorite all-time reads!!
I am reading Outcomes and Perspective: The Complete Alexis Parker Prequel Series by G.K. ParksWhat long titles do you have on your to read pile?
I seem to have a bunch of long titles on my TBR, more than I realized lol
What are some of the longest titles you're read?
My Life Among the Serial Killers: Inside the Minds of the World's Most Notorious Murderers
The Thing on the Doorstep and Other Weird Stories
All of the Harry Potter books
I read Servants of the Endless Night for this one. What long titles do you have on your to read pile?
I had a few options (that I still plan to use for other prompts)
*The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society
* The Day the World Came to Town: 9/11 in Gander, Newfoundland
* The Book of the Unnamed Midwife
* The Final Girl Support Group
* The School for Good Mothers
What are some of the longest titles you're read?
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time comes to mind. :)
I read 10 Minutes 38 Seconds in This Strange World, which has been on my To Be Read List for awhile.
I read The Haunting of Meade Mansion by Skylar Finn. This was a decent paranormal mystery/thriller, but the villains were a bit over the top.It would also work for #6, image of a source of light on the cover, #14, fewer than 5000 ratings on Goodreads, #15, without a person on the cover, #24, related to inclement weather, #37, uses all five vowels in the title, or #44, gothic elements.
I used The Storyteller. Tales of Life and Music by Dave Grohl. Dave Grohl has always amazed me with his life & career. 5 stars
I’m finishing up the audiobook for Random Family: Love, Drugs, Trouble, and Coming of Age in the Bronx by Adrian Nicole LeBlanc and I would 100% recommend. I have so many feelings invested in these individuals at this point.
I read The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue and was completely mesmerized by it. I probably wouldn't try it if not ATY, but I'm so happy I did! This was the first book by Schwab for me and I'm definitely going to check her another works.
I listen to the Audiobook of Under the Whispering Door for this prompt. It was really lovely perhaps got a little slow at times but other wise very enjoyable.
I'll recommend The Five People You Meet in Heaven by Mitch Albom. I've already this book before and absolutely loved it but just found out it has a sequel released which also fits this prompt - The Next Person You Meet in Heaven: The sequel to The Five People You Meet in Heaven. So, I'll be reading this one!
I read The Perfect Christmas GiftI go this book from Netgalley as an ARC. It is a very readable and enjoyable holiday romance.
I have several long titles this is the one i read first
The Second Sight of Zachary Cloudesley
The Rise of Jonathan Flite
Tiny Shoes Dancing and Other Stories
The Suspicions of Mr. Whicher
seems to be lots with character names in
My voice for this one is My Grandmother Asked me to Tell You She’s Sorry by Fredrik Backman. I am starting it tonight.
I was surprised to find that I had so many options for this prompt, even with trying to read in order. Ended up with Finlay Donovan Knocks 'Em Dead, a totally delightful sequel to a book I loved last year!
Like Samantha, I read Under the Whispering Door by T.J. Klune, with exactly 22 letters in the title! I really loved the ending, even if it was a bit slow in the middle.
I found the perfect book in my TBR list. The Absolutely Positively Worst Man in England, Scotland, and Wales by Anne Stuart.
I just finished Rosemary: The Hidden Kennedy Daughter for this prompt. What a fascinating and heartbreaking book.
I ended up reading Last Summer at the Golden Hotel, I listened to the audio in one day while doing a puzzle yesterday (gotta love days off from work with nothing to do). I could listen to Julia Whelan read the phone book.My original plan for this was either The First Fifteen Lives of Harry August or The Most Beautiful Girl in Cuba but neither was available on audio and I'm reading something else on Kindle. I do still want to read both of those so need to figure out if I can put them somewhere else, either for ATY or PopSugar.
I read Weapons of Math Destruction: How Big Data Increases Inequality and Threatens Democracy by Cathy O'Neil. I ordered this from the library for the Winter Challenge but it arrived too late. An interesting and worrying read about how the biases inherent in algorithms act against the poor, minorities etc.I have a few 22+ titles on my TBR:
An Artificial Revolution: On Power, Politics and AI; Diary of a Young Naturalist; How the Irish Saved Civilisation: The Untold Story of Ireland's Heroic Role from the Fall of Rome to the Rise of Medieval Europe; How the One-Armed Sister Sweeps Her House; When We Cease to Understand the World.
Long titles I've enjoyed:
We Are All Completely Beside Ourselves; Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress; The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat and Other Clinical Tales; The Tenant of Wildfell Hall
I'm reading The Lost Future of Pepperharrow, which has 22 letters exactly if you take out 'the' and 'of'. To be honest, I'm finding it a bit of a slog - I don't usually mind slow-paced books but this one just isn't grabbing me.
I read The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents by Terry Pratchett for this prompt.Other long titles:
The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making and The Girl Who Fell Beneath Fairyland and Led the Revels There by Catherynne M. Valente.
I had lots of options but I went with We Need to Talk About Kevin with exactly 22 letters. The book was extremely disturbing.
I ended up using You Should See Me in a Crown which was not either of the two others I had planned for.The other options:
The Signature of All Things (which I did also read and used elsewhere)
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
I read The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks for this prompt, it had more than 22 letters in the title for both the English edition as well as for the Swedish edition which I read. Some other long titles I have read previously:
The Moomins and the Great Flood
Arthur: The dog who crossed the jungle to find a home
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time
The Underground Girls of Kabul: in Search of a Hidden Resistance in Afghanistan
