Finished: 11/2 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Review:
This was like watching an action movie... that turned into a RomCom... that turned into an action movie... that went full-blown RomCom... yeah, I got confused a time or two, myself!

This story was made up of so many wonderful characters and even though this wasn't the story I thought I was going to get... it really touched my heart! Ms. Sterling did a wonderful job of giving Grant the respect and understanding that he deserved while dealing daily with his depression and anxiety. Was I surprised that Royce was the one that actually understood that Grant didn't need to be fixed, just loved and cherished while he worked his way through his low days? Kinda, because he was supposed to be this badass CIA agent, but sometimes the best gifts come in the strangest packaging!

We had two very strong female characters, which I love to see... a most adorable dog and one very fascinating... Walter? Not quite sure how to describe him except to say he loves the world and the world loves Walter!

As for the 4-star rating? That would be because I didn't really get the action scenes that I was expecting, which could be on me, but it was mostly because the story really dragged there for quite a bit and, yes, dang it, I really WAS expecting more action! *grin*

Ohh, important side note: When I was complaining about the lack of action, I truly was not complaining about the action that was going on in the bedroom... oh, no... there will be NO complaining about that! ;D

Yeah - it was fine but it just didn't grab me. There were good reasons for MC Scott's arseholery in book 1, but that's about all there really was to the story. MC Davis was totally alright with his little Libby. Yeah. That's it.

Its been a while since I read book 1, so maybe I should have reread the earlier instalment?

Narrated by Chris Chambers and John Solo - 4 stars.

Review:
Let me start with a confession... it seems appropriate! I don't read cozy mysteries... ever! But, this one had a dog on the cover and I had enjoyed a couple of other books by this author, so... win/win!

Now, for the story? It was full of interesting characters and I liked watching the two MCs, although it kinda felt like there was just one MC, slowly coming to a better understanding of each other and real life! Kip could be a bit oblivious at some points and then totally observant in others... there wasn't really much mystery to the "who did it" part, but I enjoyed the fact that there were layers to the story that keep me reading, just to make sure I was right! *grin*

I don't know if it was just me or if anyone else noticed, but there seemed to be an awful lot of "telling" and not as much "showing" as I would have liked. But, either way, I feel compelled to impatiently wait for book two, which I will be promptly read upon its release if for no other reason than I just can't stand when I don't get my HEA!!!

I am pretty sure this book has NOT converted me to reading cozy mysteries, but I can see the appeal for others... so, you guys may as well give this one a try! ;D

I don't know that I've read a book about this level of social anxiety before and it was very interesting to see. Super sad but still interesting. Jack was quite the moody SOB at first but watching his and Simon's relationship develop was a true treat. Not as angsty as some other by this author but still great. Hot virgin smexing and all the feels. Yes, please.

Would have been a higher rating had I not just finished the Roan Parrish book. This one was much lighter with some humor and Ms Batshit Crazy the papillon who was just the cutest. Such a fun read. I love the characters in this series - and these MCs were just as adorable. I loved the initial friction, realisations and issues that they faced. And Chip - what an absolute sweetie. Made me think I need a Belgian Malinois! 🧡🐶

I'm definitely going to start rereading this series soon - the team's antics need repeating!

Narrated by Greg Boudreaux - can he read badly? I think NOT!

I really enjoyed this book a whole lot. Until I realized I was at the end of the freaking thing and it was half the story. Gah, I hate that crap. I can't decide if this is supposed to be a love story or a spy story or a sci fi type story. It's kind of all of those. Now I have to read the next one if it's out just to finish the damned thing. A surprise around every corner!

OK, I really did not see that one coming! *grin*

I was so glad to see Hadley finally get the life that he deserved! It broke my heart to hear his truth and to find out the reason for his self-isolation and guilt. In my opinion, that poor man had suffered enough, and Lyle thought so too!

This story had such a soft flow, just like how Lyle and Hadley's relationship was slowly built... baby steps was the game plan, and it worked!

Looking forward to seeing Russ learn to move on with this life in Heart & Soulless...

I love these entertaining stories by Lily Morton. They are a fun romp with a crazy set of men, some connected some not. I'd love to have the carefree attitudes of some of characters, and I think that's why I love them so much.

Love this story. Its gentle, believable and so sweet. Helped enormously by a super cute fluff-ball. The integration of Bernice & K adds a deeper element in that they create their own mini family in Coolum despite both MCs having perfectly wonderful families back in Caloundra and Brisbane.

Narrated by Joel Leslie - I know this part of the world extremely well so the pronunciation of the towns in well-known to me, but JL makes an effort to get them most of the way there ;) 5 stars

I absolutely loved this book. Lots of different Supes that you don't usually see in stories. bAsed around the new Sheriff, Romeo and his mate Vincent, they have to sort out the town's werewolf problem. Whilst this gets sorted there is an arc of a story which will certainly go through to the next book, which is queued up and ready to go.
