A few minutes ago, I finished reading "Tiger Trap: America's Secret Spy War with China" by David Wise. In a word, WOW!
In "Tiger Trap" (the book's title comes from an FBI code name for a case it was investigating during the early 1990s that was centered on Gwo-bao Min, an engineer at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in California, one of the top laboratories responsible for designing nuclear weapons, who was suspected of betraying critical nuclear secrets to China), the author explains to the reader Beijing's approach to conducting espionage in the U.S. and its methods of encouraging and grooming people to spy for China.

I've just discovered Clare Chase. I'm not usually wild about cozy mysteries, but this is so good I just have to share it with you. Mystery at the Abbey Hotel is a cut above the average, in the category of Dorothy Sayers and Agatha Christie. Historical, beautifully written. Just darn good!
