Nemoto's Travels The Illustrated Saga of a Japanese Floatplane Pilot in the First Year of the Pacific War by Michael Claringbould

The author, Michael Claringbould, who's an expert on the air war in the Pacific, has taken excerpts from the diary of a Japanese naval floatplane pilot, to present from the Japanese perspective the first 7 months of the Pacific War. The book is richly lavished with illustrations that convey the drama and tension of the air war for both the Allies and Japanese alike. At 119 pages, it can be read in a matter of a few hours.

Broadnax, who had joined the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) and was trained as a fighter pilot at Tuskegee Army Air Field, earning an officer's commission and winning his wings in March 1945.

For anyone with even the slightest interest in aviation, this is a book that illuminates and celebrates the oft overlooked achievements made by African Americans in aviation for more than a century.
