DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments I gave up on WW2 pretty quick so I've most of that campaign to play, Black Ops Cold War the same. Tried to struggle through Blops 3 but think I only got halfway. Thinking it's between Cold War or MW remaster on veteran (though think all ghillied up and the following mission would try my limited patience).

Or maybe I'll play Bioshock for the millionth time

message 252: by [deleted user] (new)

Don't forget about the glitch on MW remaster. It basically let's you to play to the last checkpoint and then you set the diff to veteran and it counts for the whole level.

NFS Rivals for £2ish that it is atm? yay or nay?

I loved hot pursuit on ps3 (in fact am tempted by the hot pursuit remaster - will crack when it goes sub £10).

message 254: by [deleted user] (new)

Yay on NFS Rivals. Surprisingly good given it was meant to be rushed for the launch of PS4 and Xbone. One of the better NFS games of the gen imo.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Only a couple of trophies left in European Truck Racing, though they look like being lengthy ones. Plat is a just a matter of time though, nothing difficult. Bit of a weird one overall. The AI don't seem to understand the concept of pole position - before the start of the race they'll pull alongside you, sometimes ahead, so even if you got the fastest qualifying time you'll often start in 2nd. It's also one of those games that it feels like it one rule for you, none for the rest. They can smash into you, take shortcuts with no penalty, you do the same and 5 second penalty, 30 second penalty etc. Often they'll force you off track and you'll be the one warned. They also occasionally defy the laws of physics. I don't know what the stopping distance for a racing truck is, but I'm pretty sure it's not instantaneous. Not the greatest racer out there but it's scratching the racing itch.

Have a feeling Monster Trucks is unplatable. Tried a few times over the weekend to get a MP game but it wont even search for a one. The timer stops without even lasting 1 second and keeps saying failure to search for a game. Still, enjoyed it well enough overall.

Morning all

My gaming is all over the place atm. I got another grubby plat on Friday or Saturday. Funny Truck, just drive around until 25,000 people fall out the back.

Then popped into CEX on Saturday and bought Borderlands 3 again with a view to buying some DLC when it cheap.

An old WWE game on PS3. Meant to have an easy easyish plat but I may never plat it. It was only £1.50

Then for 50p I picked up Killzone 2 again. I played it about 9 years ago but struggled due to the controls (instead of hold down L1 to aim, you had to press L1 and then press again to stop aiming). I remember someone on the old 'zon forum saying the controls could be changed so I thought I'd give it another blast. No intentions of platting it and isn't physically possibly now anyway due to server closures, and was pretty much impossible before that anyway.

Morning all

I have DAT ITCH for Cyberpunk 2077...

message 258: by [deleted user] (new)

Oh no, what don't you like about Skyward Sword?

message 259: by [deleted user] (new)

That all sounds a bit rubbish:(

I forgot to say I picked up another bit of BL2 DLC on PS3, the Pirate one so have worked my way through that. Just need to finish all side missions on it now.

Glassmoon - The Benny Hill of Plats | 779 comments Mod
@Adam

That sucks.
I tried it too a couple of times in the Wii and found it realyl boring.

As for Cyberpunk 2077...yay or nay?

As for Dragon´s Dogma, im now 42 hrs into and im enjoying it more and more.
Its not perfect, It has a very cool mechanic where you can enhance your weapons and armor but when you go and buy new gear, the game doenst allow to compare base stats so you end up never actually knowing if the new gear is better then the one you have enhanced. Really stupid, imo.
I also have to roleplay as a character who cant speak to justify him not talkign with other characters.
But apart from that, its a really engaging and challenging fantasy RPG. At times it reminds me of Dragon Age Inquisition, others a bit of Dark Souls and overall it works.
Not sure how far im in the game though. Im now doing quests for Aldous, the Duke´s minister or something like that.

Mate, i still havent finished BL2. I think i left it not far from the last time we played.
I dont know why i keep putting that game on hold. When i play it i usually have a ton of fun.

message 262: by [deleted user] (new)

I love BL2 mate, even enough to still be buying PS3 DLC packs for £8 a pop haha.

There's enough content in each one though. Will space them all out so Hammerlock's in a few months and then Tiny Tina's later this year or early 2022. (I've got the other 2).

If you go back to it on PS4 and ever need any help, let me know mate.

I havent played it lately, despite having the itch, because im waiting for a sale for the VR edition.
Its one of those perfect games to play on VR with the aim controller.
Can you imagine being actually inside Pandora?

message 271: by [deleted user] (new)

It's probably a lot better than it was but I'd want to make sure it would be properly playable on PS5.

I don't think I'll ever bother with it all though personally.

message 272: by DeckardCain's Sandals (last edited Jul 19, 2021 11:46PM) (new)

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Ping! FIA European Truck Racing Championship. One of those games that if you listed all the flaws you'd be here all day but still find it hard to hate it. It was a bit laughable at times but also weirdly satisfying. The plat was very straightforward, which probably helped.

No idea what to play next. Played a wee bit of CoD Cold War MP at the weekend for the first time in a very long time but not sure I could be bothered starting the campaign at the minute. I've reinstalled AC Valhalla as well to see if it will click but the thought of the huge map is putting me off. Had considered starting Cyberpunk too but not sure I want to sink the time into it at the minute. So I don't seem to have the patience for massive open worlds or something more linear, meaning I really have zero idea what's on the menu next

Morning all. Finally completed Doom Eternal. It is a cracking game. It's more of the same really except for the introduction of a lot more platforming and later in the game they really ramp up the difficulty. Amazing graphically with the next gen patch. There are more enemy types too some of which I find really annoying - the shielded guy with the attack wolves/dogs particulary (really struggled to kill him) and the mobile totem demon which when he was first introduced into the game late on basically took most of my spare lives as I didn't know what to kill to stop the relentless onslaught. Still a cracking game. 8.5/10 on the R-score-o-meter. However, if the trend is to continue to make the game even more and more frenetic from what was an already bat-shit-crazy starting point I may bow out of the next one. Gets to the point where it feels more like stress than fun.

Next is probably a try of The Ascent. Comes out end of next week I think. A 3D isometric game that graphically looks amazing - similar to Dead Nation and Alienation which I both enjoyed.

Morning all

Took my 2 covid shot last sunday and it hit me realyl hard yesterday.
Went to bed at 9am and couldnt even play anything.
Thankfully im feeling a lot better today.

message 275: by [deleted user] (new)

Hope you're OK mate. I felt rubbish after my first jab but didn't notice anything with second thankfully.

Congrats on your ping Deck. I'll no doubt pick it up in future but kind of glad I left it this time round.

I think there's a big summer sale starting on the PS store tomorrow so I'll buy something off that and then not have the time or energy to play it.

I did manage to finish all the side mission in the Capt Scarlet BL2 DLC last night.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments I could do with a decent sale tomorrow because at the minute I'm pondering whether to replay Metal Gear Survive! Yep I'm the one person who had no problem buying that one ;) A replay of The Last Guardian is also in my head for some reason.

message 277: by [deleted user] (new)

I've nearly bought it before for a fiver but kind of glad I didn't.

I'm in that frame of mind where I just prefer buying games cheaply rather than actually playing them. I really don't need a sale or new games but I always look forward to seeing what is discounted.

It's about time the Dirt 5 DLC went on sale.

Adam wrote: "Isn't Terminator an easy plat? I suspect that's an influence on people thinking its good ;)"

haha. Could be.

It truly beyond my comprehension how you guys plat games so quickly.

message 282: by [deleted user] (new)

It is an easy plat, although there are a couple of miserable trophies you have to bear in mind though.

To be fair, a games trophy list is something I'll factor in when deciding whether I like a game. It's by no means the most important thing and an easy list doesn't necessarily mean a good list or game.

Lots of missable trophies or speed related trophies (like the one in Titanfall 2) really take the shine off for me but don't make a good game bad.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Trophies tend to influence how long I'll spend on a game rather than how much I'll enjoy it. I've never based a purchase on them, and tend to only have a quick look at the trophy list at the start to see if it looks doable.

Terminator Resistance is one of those that if you go into it expecting little, you'll probably get more enjoyment out of it.

And Ping! Sparkle 2 EVO.

Played a little Metal Gear Survive as well and still don't think it's a bad game, though I guess most of the issues around it were the fact it's Konami more than anything

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Half tempted by Hitman 3 for £28. The list for the new sale isn't up yet but looks like some of the discounts are.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Oh and it looks like I'm going to need my first controller replacement of the new gen. The triggers have been hyper sensitive for a while, even resting your finger on them is enough to make it go off, but that was manageable. But now the left analogue stick is stuck to the left, meaning characters wont stay still, cars are veering off to the left, and generally making games more annoying than they need to be. First of many, no doubt, knowing my luck

message 286: by [deleted user] (new)

I've heard the dual sense 5 isn't particularly robust.

Not had chance to look at the sales properly but seen Dirt 5 and BL3 DLC is included. Not seen the prices yet so may not bother if not reduced enough.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments Not seeing much in the summer sale, it's bad enough it's making Turok/Turok 2 bundle look appealing ;) Half tempted by Empire of Sin but don't think it's really what I'm in the mood for at the minute

@Deck

That sucks mate.
Im getting more and more unhyped by the PS5 as time goes by.

I looked at the sale myself and im tempted by Disco Elysium, Wolfenstein 2 and FC New Dawn.

Im also a bit tempted by Hitman 2 but i never played any of them,
Its it kinda like Splinter Cell?

message 289: by Error (new)

Error | 408 comments I loved Empire of Sin, but you would hate that plat. It requires completing the game with like 17 different characters. Still a great experience for 15 or less imo.

message 290: by DeckardCain's Sandals (last edited Jul 21, 2021 07:01AM) (new)

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments I picked up Empire of Sin. Not sure I'm going to play it at the minute but it's one I'll definitely give a go sooner rather than later.

Also picked up Human Fall Flat and a couple of others. And as usual I say there's not much of interest in the sales and end up with a couple anyway.

Glass, the last couple of Hitman games have been a little different from previous ones. They are basically a bunch of sizeable levels with a load of different ways to go about your objectives. Half of their appeal is how creative you can be and planning how you are going to go about it. Definitely worth a play, even if they don't have a plat. I'm going to pick up the 3rd one once it gets nearer the £20 mark

message 291: by [deleted user] (new)

I played a bit of the Dirt 5 DLC last night. It's more of the same which is good but a bit disappointing there don't appear to be any new locations. It's new cars really and new events but on existing tracks.

My PS4 was making a he'll of a row again so didn't play too long. Might have to limit it to an hour tops otherwise it might take off or explode going on how fast the fan was going :(

AlienGirl54 | 46 comments Hi guys, sorry I haven't been around. Real life took over for a bit. Nothing bad or anything, just very busy.

I finished R&C - fab game, as usual. Loved Rivet and especially loved Glitch!

Just started Death Stranding and so far I'm quite enjoying it. Though I don't think I'm taking some of the routes they want me to! I love finding my own way across the land!

Anyhoo, back to work ... (see, real life intruding AGAIN!)

Ron | 78 comments New PSVR shooter FRACKED coming next month looks great. Best visual fidelity of any PSVR game so far and a decent cover system. £19.99 so not bank breaking either. My backlog is still insane so won't be getting it on release but for anyone looking for something new this could be it. Demo available on PSN.

Glassmoon - The Benny Hill of Plats | 779 comments Mod
That´s great Ron.
I´ll check it out.

I still havent finished Blood & Truth though.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments I started playing Brigandine, which I quite like. It's kind of like they took the empire building part of Dynasty Warriors Empires (i.e. nothing too complex) and mixed it with a turn based JRPG.
Darkest Dungeon is an interesting wee game too.

And I'm not going to ask yay or nay for Akiba's Trip: Hellbound and Debriefed. It's an obvious yay ;)

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments I've hawed a new PS5 controller. I was trying to hold off but it got even worse over the weekend. To be honest I probably could just have made do with an old PS4 one, since I'm not exactly buried under PS5 content. Mostly played Brigandine over the weekend, partly because I can use the d-pad for it rather than the analogue stick.

Think I'm probably going to pick up Neo: The world ends with you tomorrow

Morning all

I think im near the end of Dragon´s Dogma. At least the game is telling me to go and have the final confrontation with the dragon.
Such a great game. Very light on story aspect but gameplayise is really addictive.
Its a bit like playing a lite Dark Souls.
I think the game still has na expansion in there. At least it keeps telling me to take a boat from Cassardis to some island which i´ll definitly start once i finish the main game.

I also have dat itch to play FC 5.

Morning all. Struggling to find my next game. I thought it was the The Ascent which is out this week but after reading/watching previews I'm not so sure now - I might give it a go and I see how I get on. Over the weekend though I played quite a bit of Master Chief Collection multiplayer and Forza 7 career mode. MCC is really good - having all the maps available across all Halos really does mix it going from old school (really very dated but enjoyable multiplayer) to some really graphically impressive remastered maps. Still, my skills go between adequate to get my backside handed to me. Really enjoyed Forza 7 too and only two more championships to go to complete the season.

DeckardCain's Sandals (deckardcainssandals) | 2105 comments My replacement controller should arrive today, which is good because I think I need a break from Brigandine. I've completed it with 3 of the nations and enjoyed it but want to move on before it outstays its welcome.

I tried playing Borderlands 3 for a bit last night because it's a game you are constantly moving and don't need too much precision most of the time, so the dodgy analogue stick may not have been as big a factor as it would in some other games. But no, picking up loot and jumping for platforms was a pain. Even trying to talk to npcs was a little irritating

I've a few old PS4 controllers but most of them are on their last legs too, and couldn't find one that works properly. So bring on the new controller so I can get back to gaming normally! Guaranteed it gets lost in deliver now
