(also via im so sorry im BuLLyInG you right now but i figured that in this point in our friendship im allowed to verbally poke you a little bit)
Persephone whipped around to face the door, her face looking a little insane. For some reason, in her frenzied mind, she assumed the people outside had to be some more rebels responsible for the explosion, despite what they'd just said about needing help. She quickly made her way to the door, her heels clicking menacingly on the floor and occasionally crunching in broken glass, and without thinking, swung it open. She clutched a large shard of glass in her hand that she'd picked up on the way to the door, and she glared at them with a crazed look on her face as she blocked the door.
And standing before her is Andreija Spataca, female tribute of District 2, along with Valeria, female tribute of District 4, and Isadora, agender tribute of District 12 (who is standing further back). They all have dirt and soot all over them, and are still dressed in their training room outfits, though they are ripped and shredded at multiple spots. Cuts and bruises cover their bodies.
But despite all this, Andreija still has this confident look on her face. A mask that will not drop.
But despite all this, Valeria still has this placid, cryptic look on her face. A still, dark ocean staring at Persephone.
But despite all this, Isadora still had their arms crossed, and this fire-filled gaze. Judging Persephone, examining her. Scorching her with hatred.
____
Andreija can hardly believe what she had done. Escape the arena with her worst enemy. It was almost funny. She almost liked it. It was like karma was coming back at her, and she told herself that she should just enjoy it.
She was still enjoying it all when she crashed the hovercraft into the top of this building. She could've died, but hey - she deserved it.
And Isadora's screaming made it worth it.
(Right? Right. rightrightright)
Andreija is in the Capitol. Home of her suffering, but of her life. This is were everything about her had revolved, and she is finally there. Perhaps ready to make it all burn to cinders, like her bones soon would.
Yes.
That could be fun.
____
This place is despicably dry. Valeria knows that she shouldn’t be thinking something like this right then, but she can't help it. Almost dying multiple times had an amusing tinge to it but there isn't anything truly delightful about it when you're on dry land. She can't care less about the crazy bitch with the glass in her hand.
For a few reasons, actually.
Why should she care?
And of course, she is smart enough to not be directly in the crazed girl's line if attack, unlike that stupid Andreija. Though perhaps on further thought, Andreija just wanted to die.
So maybe not that stupid.
Valeria knows she is capable of killing the girl at the door. The second Andreija doubles over, screaming (or laughing. yes. she would do that, wouldn't she.), leaking blood from her stomach, all Valeria has to do is wrap those ebony fingers of hers around the girl's neck and the episode is over.
But this is the Capitol, and she owes them a bit of something. They had saved her life a little bit. So maybe she'll stick around. See if they can make it out alive, all three of them.
So she says, in that flowing voice of hers, "we come in peace. We need help. You wouldn't let your two best Careers die like this, would you? At the hands of the terrible rebels?"
Perhaps her tone wasn't begging enough.
Oh, well.
She had always been like this. A bit strange.
(let the land deal with it.)
____
Isadora knows that they're about to die. Everyone here is the enemy, everyone here deserves to die.
(burn burn burn)
And they think the same thing about Isadora.
They know it.
But Isaodra has calculated everything. An escape route, a distraction. Everyone is disposable and they know it.
Perhaps they can even take down the crazed girl while they're at it.
Or no, maybe they'll die here. Be a shame to their entire family.
Wonderful.
Suddenly, the strange Four girl speaks up.
(Did she just call me a career?
...
Play along.)
Their survival instincts kick in and they nod along, but keeping their back to the wall as a safety measure.

Persephone is bold no doubt, but a bit rash as well. Horizon wonders what happened upstairs, wonders if the head Gamemaker is all right. Perhaps not.
As the door flies open, Horizon recognizes them immediately. It’s three tributes from the current Hunger Games. How they managed to escape the arena and how they made it all the way to the Capitol is beyond her. Rize only knows that someone is going to be punished.
Despite the agony it causes, Horizon forces herself to stand up straighter, to aim the gun carefully, to wear a dangerous look. The white bandage stained red is hard to miss, but she can only hope they won’t recognize the full extent of the injury and label her as the weakest. Survival of the fittest. Only the strongest will live.
Tributes. Rebels. Gamemakers. Horizon’s head whirls, waves of dizziness coming and going with no warning. The tributes. How did they get here? Was that what the explosion upstairs was? How did they get past the security? Rebels. Are they still here? If so, so? How many? Gamemakers. Where are they? Did the tributes find them first? Are any of them still alive? Rize foolishly shuts her eyes for a moment, shoving the barrage of questions away. There is only here and now. None of that matters.
Horizon surveys the three, her gaze flickering with a cool venom. She takes a step forward, the limp almost unnoticeable. Almost. “What business?” Her voice is hard and face emotionless. No feeling, no weakness. But there is feeling, and there is weakness. It all depends on how well it can be hidden…

"I don't know where you've been," Persephone hissed, her voice sounding strained. "But I can assure you the Games won't be taking place this time around. Hate to break it to you, but I really couldn't give a sh*t about you three." With that, she flung the glass shard at the tributes, not caring who it hit, just wanting to make a statement, and attempted to slam the doors shut.
Max was frozen, his brain thinking of dozens of outcomes for the situation. None of them were good.
Andreija ducks, narrowly avoiding the glass shard, blueish-green eyes wide open."We need help," she yes at the top of her lungs to make sure the people inside the room will hear her. "The rebels are probably coming! We need at least, what, a gun for me so that we can deal with them! You do realize that the rebels are after you, right? By helping us kill them, you're helping yourself!" she adds loudly.
She couldn't help but feel offended. These people were out here throwing a glass shard at her? Andreija Spataca? She had literally single-handedly saved her District from the rebel infiltration and it has been broadcasted on live Capitol television! Had it all been for nothing? All of that? Had Irene's death been for nothing?
But Valeria puts a hand on her shoulder and whispers calmly, "it's okay, Andreija. They don't care about us and neither do we. Let's fine someplace else. Someone who actually knows who we are. Alright?"
Andreija was grappling with the wish of shrugging off Valeria's hand but there was something so ... hypnotic about the girl's melodious voice that calmed Andreija down.
"Alright," she grumbles. "Can you just tell us where we are? Please?" Andreija asks as politely as possible, thought shouting to make sure to be heard.
Meanwhile, Isadora slowly picks up the glass shard left on the floor, which everyone else seems to have forgotten. Just as slowly, they back away, shard in hand, and hides it in their pocket, absolutely unnoticed, and goes back to leaning against the wall.
(two things, because i like bullying you (that was sarcasm btw lol):-the careers are supposed to love the Capitol so it's not super weird that they supposedly want to protect them
-the door is now closed so the tributes can't SEE that it looks destroyed)

Gently, Horizon eases up, relying heavily on the wall and counter to keep her up. She’s hit by a wave of dizziness, almost losing her balance. Rize bites her lip, leg throbbing. She may be injured, but if these are more rebels, she’ll meet them on her feet, head-on.
Horizon slowly picks up the gun, wiping her blood off the barrel with her shirt. It doesn’t do much good. The young Gamemaking intern raises it, aiming at the door. Her hand shakes just slightly, but her face is completely devoid of emotion. Horizon cats a chance at Max, then Persephone. What now?
