I'm really enjoying Home Before Dark too. I just found out there's a series to watch later!

I'll let you know after I finish. I haven't read The Last Time I Lied but I read Lock Every Door last year, which was pretty good - it's a spooky thriller with a dark side. I think you'd enjoy it.

I really like the haunted house atmosphere of this latest one, the spooky gothic house appeals to me. It feels more like horror, but I'm not sure what's really happening here yet. It might not be...

I discovered Jane Harper very recently too, stumbling across The Dry just last month. I'll definitely be reading more of her books.

It was a bit surreal, walking through a gale of rain, next to the sea whilst listening to a story about heat and drought on audiobook ; )
It proved the power of her writing though - she still managed to transport me to the outback.

Beth (eparks4232) | 2556 comments I just got added to the team and since the Toppler started, I have read Only Time Will Tell. I started A Murmur of Bees, but I can switch books to fit with what we have. I just figured I would let you know what is already available. I will go and look at the spreadsheet and try to find a way to fit in....

Welcome aboard Beth, Unfortunately, none of your books match our chains for now. We are going for one long chain, I will create a new chain with Only time... I have been trying to find a way to use This Is How You Lose the Time War so I really hope we do. if not there will be a lonely 2 books chain. :)

words that can "link" are on post 2. I update that list regularly as words are added and removed when new books are linked.

You can also have a look at the spreadsheet.

Let us know what you read and I can add it the the chain.

message 168: by Beth (new)

Beth (eparks4232) | 2556 comments Ok, I am going to start Lost Hills which will link up to lost in the list and give us hills to work with as well, does that work?

message 169: by Janice, Moderator (new)

Janice (jamasc) | 59890 comments If you move The Little Lies to the bottom of the list for chain 1, I can read Tell Me Lies which will then join both chains. The first book in chain 2 has tell in common with my book.

I was going to read it for the toppler, but it's too long. Maybe I'll read it next month. Need some suspense!

message 171: by Ayacchi (new)

Ayacchi | 1722 comments I'm reading The Naughtiest Girl in the School, we may add it under 'girl'

Marie (UK) (mazza1) | 2277 comments I am part way through World War Z: An Oral History of the Zombie War which will fit on that second chain

I will finish it this week especially if my insomnia continues

message 173: by Margo (new)

Margo | 11628 comments I finished Vernon God Little last night and it was with a sigh of relief. I didn't like it at all, 2 stars.

Started Dark and Deepest Red and I have a feeling this one will be another damp squib. I'm not getting on with the writing style.

Esther (nyctale) | 5191 comments Beth wrote: "Ok, I am going to start Lost Hills which will link up to lost in the list and give us hills to work with as well, does that work?"

it works as I can insert it between books. (Hills cannot be added to the list as it is already sandwiched between. )

Esther (nyctale) | 5191 comments Update!!!! This is unbelievable!!!!

Total points: 170

Book Read: 14

Book in progress: 15

longest chain: 26

I had to remove a bunch of words from the list. So be careful.

Yes, it is pretty long for a toppler, I'm listening on audiobook, so it's my background track for the week.

There's definitely suspense in this one! Go for it 😀

message 178: by Annerlee (new)

Annerlee | 2871 comments Seems like I missed a whole lot of title juggling overnight. That's the sort of thing I love about team topplers.
I'm coming to the end of my audiobook so I can definitely fit in another. Not sure on a title yet, but I'll find one that can sandwich between other links.
Am over half way through Blue Sun, Yellow Sky. It's a book I chose specifically for the toppler and has been a pleasant surprise. All books have been 3 and 4 stars so far this week.

Janice (jamasc) | 59890 comments My book is making me a bit anxious. Thank goodness I only have 2-1/2 hours left which I'll manage tomorrow.

My ebook is taking a bit longer. I'll see if I can make a dent in it tonight.

Annerlee | 2871 comments I started my next audiobook last night (A Gift of Time) It will take me a little longer too. But the narrator speaks really slowly, so I've upped the playback speed to X 1.25 😆 I should finish by Saturday.

message 197: by Margo (new)

If I'm not mistaken, there's no limit on repetition
