Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 10001 comments If not for a certain virus, I do believe that How to Mend a Broken Heart by Aussie author Rachael Johns would be keeping travel agents busy with bookings to New Orleans. Very enjoyable.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 10001 comments Danielle Baynes has absolutely the perfect voice for Tracy Sorensen's marvellous debut novel, The Lucky Galah. Lots of nostalgia within this mystery.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 10001 comments Aussie journalist Sue Smethurst's account of her grandmother-in-law's experience as a Polish Jew during WW2 in The Freedom Circus gives the reader a different perspective. This is a wonderfully moving and inspiring story.

PattyMacDotComma | 3312 comments I was pleased to see Mary Anning added to the Little People BIG DREAMS series by Mª Isabel Sánchez Vegara. All kids love collecting things, so they'd enjoy seeing how this little girl grew up finding fossils and becoming famous.

Always good to see science stuff introduced to kids at an early age. Make it fun! Knitting could be taught as a binary algorithm; knit one, pearl one or it can just be taught as practical good fun. My mum was a great mathematician without knowing it.

I couldn't agree more, Andy. I always say that a teacher's job (or any adult's job) is to keep curiosity alive and show kids where and how to find information.

PattyMacDotComma | 3312 comments I just enjoyed Trust, the third of Aussie author, journalist, and former foreign correspondent Chris Hammer's Martin Scarsden series. Sydney is at its corrupt, murderous worst.

Carolyn | 9881 comments I really enjoyed Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid and loved the characters, maybe not quite as much as Daisy from Daisy Jones & The Six, but it was still a great story.
