Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 10002 comments Aussie author, Paul Starr's debut novel, Prior Regrets, wrapped in an evocative Art-Deco style cover, is one of those novels that has you thinking about what happened long after the final page is turned.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 10002 comments It's a few years since I read David Nicholls One Day so I'd forgotten just how sad some of the later chapters are. Anna Bentinck's narration had me blubbering in places.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 10002 comments It took me far to long to get to the third book in Leonie Rogers Frontier series, Frontier Defiant, but what an excellent conclusion to this addictive trilogy!

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 10002 comments I'm working my way through all the Vicki Tyley books on my kindle, and her second Sleight Malice weaves the characters into a web of lies and deceit. Gripping Aussie crime fiction.

Marianne (cloggiedownunder) | 10002 comments I may be more than fifty years older than the target age range for Elly Griffiths's Justice Jones series, but I really enjoyed it. Excellent historical crime fiction for the young (and young at heart)

Another brilliant read from Angela Marsons in the DI Kim Stone series. I gave it a well deserved 5⭐️‘s

I’ve just discovered that I have somehow missed reading #12 Killing Mind in this series 🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ so I’m reading it next. Fortunately individual books in this series can just as easily be read as a stand alone.

PattyMacDotComma | 3312 comments It's almost beyond me how Aussie journalist Shannon Molloy survived his teens as a gay kid in a country town, but I'm glad he did! His memoir, Fourteen: My year of darkness, and the light that followed is sad and funny and worth a listen.

PattyMacDotComma | 3312 comments I can see a market opening up for dog buttons! How Stella Learned to Talk: The Groundbreaking Story of the World's First Talking Dog is a fascinating look at author Christina Hunger's work with pre-lingual kids who need help communicating and how she adapted her techniques so her dog Stella can communicate. And boy, does Stella 'talk'! Terrific!
