Susan Where is everyone? What are you all reading??

message 2: by Suzanne (new)

Suzanne | 21 comments Still reading Swimsuit by James Patterson and Maxine Paetro. Reading Mad River Road by Joy Fielding while waiting for son at the HS.
Which reminds me--I need to put a load of laundry in the washer. Ugh--chores!

Brittany (wifethatprays) Torch by Cheryl Strayed and Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis.

I have to go back and forth between Mere Christianity and another book because it is so heavy and my mind is already whirling a million miles a minute! It's nice to pick something else up in between chapters.

message 4: by Katie (new)

Katie I am currently reading April and Oliver. Very good read so far!

Susan I am reading Three Weeks to Say Goodbye
It's about a couple that adopts a baby and the trouble they have after the birth father comes back into the picture! It hooks you from page one and you can't believe what this dirt bag puts these people through! Its a great book and I'm almost done!

Mere Christianity is a deceivingly small book, but I could only digest a bit at a time. So much to think about!

Susan I finished Three Weeks to Say Goodbye and am now reading The Woman in Black A Ghost Story by Susan Hill. Its a ghost story that should scare me big time according to the reviews I've read on here!

Oh, I know! I thought it was something I could sit down and read in a day. Hahaha! After the first chapter I felt like I had just read a college textbook and hardly could take everything in.

Oh darn! Haha, I'd rather hoped that someone found a good scary read just in time for Halloween!

Joanne G. (joannegd) | 3 comments I just finished The Glass Castle by Jeannette Walls. I found myself, a time or two, lying in bed unable to sleep for distress and realized I was reliving my childhood while reading this book. It was amazing how much the author and I had in common. Thankfully, we both overcame our pasts. This is a fast read, and I highly recommend it.

It's on my to-read list, mainly because it's so highly suggested and popular... do you think someone can like the book without relating to it?

I would have enjoyed it more if I hadn't related to it! It's hard to say, though. It is a fast read, so it's worth your time if dysfunctional families aren't terribly upsetting to you.

Blue Hummingbird (bookdragonblue) | 3 comments I am currently reading sMothering by Wendy French. About halfway through. It is very funny.
