Alex | 1018 comments Finally got my puppy! He's named Snowy after the dog in Tintin. I won't be able to get him tracking in time to help with supplies I don't think but I'll start working on combat in case we have to fight the dragon later.

Teresa (teresab78) | 1658 comments So, I am also working on getting my Falcon and was wondering how much of the book must be set at sea for "You need some netting and a lure. To make the netting read 3 books with a net on the cover or set at sea. To get the lure read a book about fishing or one with a rodent or bug on the cover."

Does the entire thing need to be on the ocean or would a significant set of scenes at sea be ok?

That puppy has wisdom beyond his years.

Kelly (ladykatala) | 5020 comments Significant plot scenes is ok. Something critical though not just them taking a boat ride for fun then going back to shore.

Megs (meganlikesbooks) | 376 comments Hello. I'm sorry if this question has already been answered. I tried to search and couldn't find anything (but there was a lot to sort through).

Anyway I want to confirm the reward and experience for fighting the rock. Do you get 10 experience and 3 gold for each rock you fight? It seems like a lot of exp. for fighting the first few rocks. I just want to make sure I'm understanding it right.

Thanks!

Yes!! You get those awesome rewards each time. Once you get past the first 5 rocks it starts to get more difficult for sure and I think that makes up for it. Also it was a nice thing for the mods to do for us ;)

Yep! Every time you fight it you get the same reward. :D It gets a lot harder the more you fight so it sort of evens out by the time you get to the end. But it's a really good source of xp/gold + a cool pet!

Delitealex | 3990 comments Is deaths requests expired

message 6573: by Shanna_redwind (new)

Shanna_redwind | 598 comments Nope, it's still active. The expired quests have it noted right beside the title of the quest, you don't even have to open the spoiler to see.

message 6574: by Delitealex (new)

Delitealex | 3990 comments Thanks Shanna :) I didn't see it in the quests thread but I saw it on the notice board but couldn't see if it was expired and definitely want to do that one

message 6575: by Shanna_redwind (new)

Shanna_redwind | 598 comments No problem. I often use the find feature on my browser when I'm looking for specific quests. Makes life easier with all those quests.

Delitealex | 3990 comments How do you get the NBRC gift cards?

message 6577: by LaLine (new)

LaLine | 411 comments Read this. As I understand it, NBRC gave every member 3 at the beginning of the year. I also got one for participating in the March Leprechaun challenge.

They expire on May 31, so you should use them on the expired quests you want to do before then, and then you'll be able to do those quests like they were not expired. You get 3 of them.

Can I use the gift card to unlock an expired quest I want to do in the future or do I need to be ready to complete the quest when I use the gift card?

The gift card gets you a month to complete your quest. You could use 2 cards for 2 months etc. New gift cards are always becoming available throughout the year just keep checking back

message 6582: by Shanna_redwind (last edited May 17, 2016 08:15PM) (new)

Shanna_redwind | 598 comments If anyone uses Overdrive to read their books, I've found a great Chrome extension that creates another column in your "My Books" area that says whether or not the book is in your libraries collection and even whether or not it's available at the moment.

This is going to save me so much time, not flipping back and forth between the two sites.

Here's a link to the discussion about it on the Goodreads Feedback board. https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

It took a couple of minutes to figure out how to get it set up, but it's been great so far.

Shanna_redwind | 598 comments Greta wrote: "Shanna- is that only on your desktop or will it show up on my phone?"

I don't know a lot about it, just came across it, but I think it's just for computers. It's an extension for the Chrome browser, and I don't think you can do that on a phone, but I just barely get by with using my phone, so I'm not any sort of authority.

message 6587: by Greta (new)

Greta | 1459 comments Boo, I couldn't figure it out. It won't let me add the library to Goodreads and the manual add just has an error message. If anyone figures it out, let me know!

I know! I saw it when I checked goodreads on my phone at work and I was like OMG WE ALMOST HAVE ALL THE THINGS (out loud) and my coworkers would have looked at me weirder if it wasn't like 5am and halfway through our day. haha.

RebeccaS wrote: "I'm sure this has been asked before, but are the midas quests repeatable?"

I don't know if it has or not actually (haha), but as far as I know they are one time things.

The classifieds each month are a good way to earn gold.

message 6595: by Reva (new)

Reva (revans) | 2481 comments RebeccaS wrote: "Ah well, worth a try asking. There are still plenty I haven't done yet."

The classifieds net you 3 gold per book, while Midas Quests net 2.5 per book. A scrounger item can net you a minor heal potion (worth 3 gold) in the store.

If I happen to stumble upon a book that fits a Midas quest, I'll plug it in, but not before seeing whether it fits in the above two categories first.

Each month I try to get all 27 GOLD fron The Classifieds. It adds up over time.
