Seeking Mr. Right (but will settle for Mr. Right Now)
Since Beth's starting her Africa book, I'll start my alien world/space one today. I have several options so if the narrator is bad I can switch.In Taking the Fifth by J.A. Jance the narrator was so bad I would have quit and deleted it! At least it was fairly short. I don't think I would have cared much for it in book form either. I love her other two series, but this is not going on the yearly series challenge!
I'm using my lunch break to finish my knitting book for Crafts. On my way home I'll start The Wolves of Midwinter by Anne Rice for Clubbing. Beth also has this book on her TBR list. This will finish off the Hobby category for a 30 point bonus. If someone finishes Clubbing first, so much the better!
That sounds great Theresa! I've started listening to The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms for my alien world/space book. I hope to get halfway through it before work ends. Then I should be able to start reading Perla tonight.
Spreadsheet Update I've updated the spreadsheet, but there is one thing to note. I can only do one hyperlink per cell, so when participants like Rebecca read more than one book for a task, the first book will have a hyperlink, and the other(s) will just be listed in the same cell. I could re-design the spreadsheet for this, but I don't think anyone will mind to much just having it the way it is.
J'mom, if I have my figures right, we should have two categories sewn up in the next 48 hours - Where is your date from? and What are your date's hobbies. Now we just need to finish the eyes, torso, and legs for What does he look like?
One hyperlink is fine. I don't think you need to go messing with the spreadsheet - it's wonderful as is!

I'm enjoying The Wolves of Midwinter, my Clubbing book from Beth's TBR shelf. Right now I'm over 1/3 done with the 16 hour audiobook, so I should finish tomorrow or early on Thursday. If there are still bonus slots to fill tomorrow evening, I'll make sure my next book fills one of them.
I am half way through The Edge of Reason for eyes. I haven't had as much reading time as I wished, but I am getting there.
I found a couple of torsos and downloaded the audiobooks from my library in case we still need that.

Yay Rebecca for filling in some needed spots! Legs is a priority since we haven't heard from Carolyn. I hope everything's ok with her. I don't think she's posted on YLTO in about two weeks.When Melissa reads City of Ashes we'll have a backup torso, so that's good.

I got called in to work for a few hours. Aaargh! I plan to finish The King of Plagues tonight. Not sure I'll have time to read a 3rd book because I have to work full days Thu and Fri.Everyone's doing a great job! We rock!
Spreadsheet Update We've now read 29 books, earned 25 bonus points, and our total is 315.
I'll have The Wolves of Midwinter finished either tonight or in the morning to finish up Hobbies.
Hey y'all - I finished Lucky Us today, but when I went to look for Snow Crash I couldn't find it. Switching to Morality for Beautiful Girls. Not sure if I can finish it in time, though.
Spreadsheet Update I did finish The Wolves of Midwinter by Anne Rice about 1:15 am. That completed the Hobby category, and now we have 33 books read, 55 bonus points, and 385 points total.
My next book will be A Small Indiscretion. Odd that this is supposed to be a TBR Toppler, but all the books I've read had been on my library hold list and delivered just before or during the Toppler. It's more like a "Keep up with your Library" Toppler!

Morality is an audio book - set in Africa - but it's eight hours, and I'm not sure I'll have eight listening hours between now and noon on Saturday.
It looks like Jmom is reading the alien book, so my Snow Crash dud is not an issue. Yay!

Reported the following:I finished The King of Plagues. Since we already have someone who finished the bonus points for shooting, you could put this in for a horror book (Bella and Edward).
I ALSO finished Vox for a sexy book for me and Johnny Depp. STEAMY!
That's all I can finish, unless someone can come up with a short book I could get from my library that fits a category we need. I read Vox in one evening.
Ok, I'm going to try going for Mickey and Minnie Mouse (main character is a dog) by reading A Fistful of Collars. I love the Chet and Bernie series and they are usually fast reads. Up with insomnia right now, so am making some progress on it.
Spreadsheet Update It's Friday the 13th. We have 39 books read and have earned 445 points. It looks like we have several books still being read, and will hopefully have a South American finish to capture the final bonus points. Rebecca is our most prolific reader, with 16 books read so far. Happy reading!

I just finished Beauty: A Retelling of the Story of Beauty and the Beast by Robin McKinley. It will complete the couple's task-Adam and Eve- Fairy tale or retelling- This is a retelling of the tale Beauty and the Beast!
I am ready to begin a new book. I could read Maya's Notebook for South America if it is needed. Please let me know.
I'm reading Perla for South America and expect to finish tonight. It might be late, but it's so good I'll stay up all night if necessary :)

I'm about to go into work, but I will try to read Royal Holiday Bride for the royal character category before the toppler ends tomorrow. I was lucky enough to have three days off this week, so I had plenty of time to read.
Wow, Rebecca, I don't know how you do it. Even if I had a whole week off and absolutely nothing else to do, but read, I would still not manage to probably even read half of what you did...And as Pragya said, I am glad you are on my team :)

I think it's a good idea to put books in the bonus tasks if possible. Having more than one won't hurt us, and we'll still get the 10 points.
