I've added one already. I couldn't help myself; it was too perfect. I popped on NetGalley and The Survivors
was being offered as an audio through Macmillan Audio. I am pre-approved with them so I grabbed it right away. They haven't added much lately and the audios tend to be books that have already published or are publishing very soon, so I was really happy to see something that wasn't publishing for a while by an author I enjoy. I'm considering grabbing Heartbreak Bay
as well. It is currently a read now. This will likely be the last in the series as Rachel Caine is currently in hospice. I've read the rest of the series, but I'm trying to decide if I want to wait and buy a copy instead.
October 2020 NetGalley Challenge:Last month was a push, with two books reviewed and two books added. Hopefully, I can get some more reviews in this month.

October is apparently finally my month to finish some NetGalley books! I've finished 6 and written reviews for them and I'm in the middle of a 7th. Even with adding 4 books my feedback ratio has gone up 10%! Here's to me hopefully finally hitting 50% this month! 😝Books Read:

Thanks, Gem! I've enjoyed the series so far. :) Sadly, Heartbreak Bay is likely to be the last in the series as Rachel Caine is in hospice.

My first (and hopefully only) DNF of the month. It also happens to be one of my oldest ARCs, from way back in 2017.
(my review)
A tedious mess, and particularly sad because some of the ideas were potentially really cool. Oh well.
Loving this Maritza!! Glad your liking it. I should be finished with my next oldest tomorrow. Then I’m in a dilemma. Read the next oldest downloaded from netgalley, or a read that was published the oldest time ago? (Think they must have added it in netgalley a couple years after publication)
Maritza wrote: "Gem has inspired me to read the oldest book on my shelf and guess what? I'm loving it so far."Which book is it, Maritza?
I just picked up Seven Perfect Things
by Catherine Ryan Hyde. If anyone else is interested, it is currently a read now and doesn't publish until May. That makes 4 adds for me this month and still no reviews. I have read Nine Elms and started Shadow Sands, so hopefully I'll have at least one review this month.
I've received a couple of widgets that I'm hesitant to accept because I don't want to end up swamped again. Has anyone else received Good Eggs by Rebecca Hardiman or Astrid Sees All by Natalie Standiford? Anyone familiar with either author? I'd be interested in your thoughts.
Finally finished
It took me two months. :o
I love Backman, but this was his worst book. Hopefully just a bump in the round and back to great stuff with his next

Oh no, I requested
weeks ago and completely forgot about it....its just been accepted. so another one goes on the list. whooops (this looks a great book though)
Kristie wrote: "Maritza wrote: "Gem has inspired me to read the oldest book on my shelf and guess what? I'm loving it so far."Which book is it, Maritza?"
I've put the other books on my TBR pile, this is book 2 but characters from book 1 sound good.
After a great September for NGs, I didn't do so well in October. The first half of the month was good, but then some other stuff came up. And by other stuff, I mean other solo book challenges I've been trying to finish with older books, lol.
I only read four NGs, and DNF'd a fifth.
And I got 3 new ones.
On the bright side, I am caught up with writing reviews, except for 2 of the books I read in Oct -- whereas before reading them, I still had 2 reviews to write for books that I finished reading like several months ago. And I DID manage to go up 1% on my feedback ratio in any case.
So I am still counting it as a win. :D
