All Night with the Cowboy by Soraya Lane is the second book in the contemporary romance River Ranch series. With a new couple as the main characters in All Night with the Cowboy it is not necessary to have read the first book of the series to understand this second chance romance as it reads fine all on it's own.
Tanner Ford comes from a wealthy family but against all their advice and wishes he became a bull rider and has succeeded wildly at the sport for the last decade. Tanner however has just had his first serious accident of his career and needs help with getting back into action so his sister takes it upon herself to set up an appointment with a physical therapist who just happens to be Tanner's ex-girlfriend.
Lauren Lewis had walked away from Tanner still very much in love with him breaking both of their young hearts. She's spent the last decade studying and becoming the best physical therapist out there and hopes that after all these years she and Tanner can put the past behind them for the sake of his career so she reluctantly agreed to accompany Tanner to Fiji and help with his therapy.
What can I honestly say about this one? Take a hot cowboy and a second chance for a couple who had been very much in love and put them in a tropical setting and I was more than entertained by the magic on the pages. The story was oozing in passion as these two reconnected and hashed out their old differences making for one steamy and passionate tale that was a great addition to the River Ranch series.
I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.

All Night with the Cowboy is a second chance romance story about Mia's brother, Tanner Ford and his ex-high school girlfriend, Lauren Lewis.
Tanner Ford is a professional bull rider. He was passionate about it than managing his family's business and enjoys the thrill until he had the first accident in his career. He was injured badly and he needs rehabilitation to get back in shape. After twelve years, he never thought he'll see the woman who broke his heart and she happens to be his physical therapist, Lauren Lewis. They'll be spending time together in Fiji for weeks. With unresolved issues and lingering feelings, things are awkward and tense between them.
Lauren unintentionally broke his heart years ago. She'd chosen to pursue her dreams by getting a degree in Physical Therapy sacrificing her relationship with Tanner. It was heartbreaking but she wants to be successful career woman. She worked hard for it and years later, she became one of the best. It was rewarding and after all these years, she still loves Tanner and she hopes he'll forgive her.
I really liked Tanner and Lauren's story. I love the angst and sexual tension here. I can easily relate to Lauren for being an obedient daughter but I wished she told Tanner the truth on why she broke up with him. Fiji was such a romantic getaway and a perfect setting for this book. Such a beautiful paradise! Breaking up in the past was the best thing that happened to order for them to grow as a person and achieve their aspirations in life. If the opposite happened, they'll be miserable couple and might resent Tanner in the future for choosing love over career. It's all about making sacrifices and compromising. Their relationship just felt authentic and I love it.
Tanner sustained a serious injury bull riding. Needing rehabilitation, his sister finds him one of the best physical therapist in the pro athlete sector, Lauren Lewis…his ex-girlfriend and the woman that broke his heart.
The last thing Lauren wanted to do was walk away from Tanner, but her circumstances didn’t give her much choice. Its going to be hard being around man she never stopped loving…where Lauren doesn’t regret her life choices she made she is in no way as angry as Tanner…
I really enjoyed All Night with the Cowboy. Both, Tanner and Lauren, are likable and strong character. Their wiliness to help out in a dire circumstances shows what good people (fictional characters) they are. I can’t go into much for spoiler reasons, but I didn’t really get the entire summer thing before they broke up, it just didn’t work for me. A little repetitive, but overall, All Night with the Cowboy was an engaging and entertaining read.
Its all flirty and fun until you realize you let go the one person you will always love.
I received this ARC copy of All Night with the Cowboy from St. Martin's Press. This is my honest and voluntary review. All Night with the Cowboy is set for publication May 29, 2018.
Tanner and Lauren used to be the high school golden couple. Years later life is giving them a second chance. Tanner is a professional Bull rider he is at the top of his game. In the blink of an eye, his life tumbles to a halt.
Lauren is a physiotherapist. She's always been professional with her clients. In reality, she has never found anyone who matches up to Tanner. When his sister calls and asks to help him heal an injury, Lauren has her chance to mend broken bridges.
This book has a beautiful setting, a smoking hot cowboy and some steamy scenes. It's sweet and firey. All night with the cowboy was so good I was sucked in from the start. This is my second book in the River Ranch series. I enjoyed this one more than the first but both are worth looking at. 4.5 stars out of 5.
*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Some people are just born to grow up to be a cowboy. Tanner Ford grew up riding bulls and busting broncos on his wealthy family’s ranch. On the rodeo circuit he made a name for himself as one of the top bull riders ever, but one bull shattered more than his body when his future as a rider is now in jeopardy. When his sister arranges for physical therapy to help him continue his dream, even the tropical island getaway isn’t enough to overcome the pain he is reminded of the day the girl he swore he would love forever…because there she was again, the best therapist money could buy.
Lauren and Tanner were young and in love, money wasn’t an issue for their future, but she wanted more than to be a cowboy’s wife, or she thought she did. When her parents gave her an offer she didn’t think she could refuse, she made a mistake and she walked out on Tanner. Now she is face to face with the man of her dreams, the one she traded to reach her own goals.
Their attraction is hotter than the tropical heat on the secluded beach, but so is the searing pain of loss and betrayal. Will they get past the demons of their youth and rekindle the inferno that rages between them?
ALL NIGHT WITH THE COWBOY by Soraya Lane is a second chance romance whose time had finally come for two souls, more mature, more self-assured and finally ready to share what happened when Lauren walked out. I enjoyed this story, even though the past was often hashed and re-hashed mentally, before Lauren finally explained herself. High angst, lots of anger and finally, some communication and of course, the passion!
I received a complimentary ARC edition from St. Martin's Press! My review is voluntary.

All Night With the Cowboy starts with a vivid piece of writing of a cowboy experiencing a very brutal ride that ends in him being severely injured. A great piece of writing that hooked me into the book.
Tucker is the cowboy and unbeknown to him his sister Mia sets him up with a physical therapist who is excellent at her job and very professional. Only trouble is... Tucker and Lauren go way back to when they were young and they broke each others hearts. Tucker comes from a wealthy family and there is some tension there as his family would love him to give up his dangerous but adrenaline producing bull riding.
In Fiji Tucker and Lauren renew their acquaintance and the sparks fly. Can they just enjoy a bit of a fling while they are there and then go on there way? Come on, these two loved each other and they still could have feelings for each other. But... are they slow about coming to realise that they really matter to each other. So its a little tortuous as they get through all their challenges and past hurts and doubts.
Soraya Lane's writing is very good although I have to admit I am more of a reader for her women's fiction books which have a lot more character development and delve in more depth into life.
However if you are an avid contemporary romance reader then this book would suit you well.
Contemporary romance. He’s determined to make it back to number one in bull riding competition. He’ll do whatever is necessary to heal including working with the woman who broke his heart. So even though he despised her, her hands massaging in a therapeutic way should mean nothing.
I admire her for working for her dream career. I didn’t care for his determination to continue bull riding. He kept saying to himself that he would quit for the right reasons but I didn’t feel it was genuine.
Two minor scenes that pushed me out of the story: Caught on the plane in what looked to be a compromising position - why didn’t she go and talk to the flight attendant? She just went back to her seat to watch movies?
On a small private island in Fiji, they make love in the sand. Um. I wold think sweaty and thus sticking sand. That scene just had me thinking “uncomfortable”.
Overall, a good romance which is my bread and butter.
Generally I'm not a huge fan of second chance romances but I'm a sucker for a broken bull rider needless to say I was excited to read All Night With a Cowboy.
The author brought these once emotionally damaged youths together as adults to heal and rekindle their relationship.
Tanner is your typical bull rider. He's tough, determined and stubborn. He also has the ability to hold a grudge. Tanner found his first and only love Lauren in high school and has never forgetting how she to tore his heart out.
Whether it was right or wrong, Lauren was made to choose between Tanner and school. She's had a successful career as a physical therapist but has always wondered what might have been if she choose love.
The pair is brought together in paradise where they are healing both physically and emotionally. I found the beginning to be repetitive but in hindsight it helped the reader get into their mindset.
Their time together wasn't easy but they managed to ease into a friendship on Fiji. Both only looking for fun without commitment. The chemistry and passion was evident throughout the book. While they both wanted more once they returned home, they were afraid to share their feelings as they were still not over the past.
The last few chapters were so sweet especially Tanner. It cemented my like for the book as this couple finally put each other first.
All Night With The Cowboy is an enjoyable second chance romance and I definitely have a weakness for that trope, add up and injured bull rider and his high school sweetheart becoming the best physical therapist in town and you have me completely smitten.
I liked Tanner and Lauren’s journey, how they both grew up chapter after chapter making hard choices for the future and how they also succed to mend their broken hearts in the process.
Rating: 4.5/5* This is a superb second-chance romance that is a delightful, easy read and real page turner - one of those stories that is easy to escape into and you really don’t want to put down until you’ve finished reading it.
Whilst at school Tanner Ford and Lauren Lewis fell in love and it looked like they’d have a brilliant future together. Then she left. He was heartbroken and hasn’t had a serious relationship since. She was also heartbroken but she had her reasons . . . .
Twelve years later and Tanner has had a very successful career as a bull rider and busting broncos but then one of the bulls turned on him and he sustained serious injuries. His sister arranges for him to have one of the finest physical therapists to help with his recovery. There’s only one major problem - that therapist is Lauren Lewis. The chemistry and attraction between the two is still there but with so much in their past can they work together to forgive, understand and trust each other to help them achieve their potential HEA?
I’ve been very careful not to give any clues as to why Lauren left initially - it certainly wasn’t what I’d initially assumed! They’d missed out on so many years together but now have the chance to create a joint future but only after secrets have been revealed as the past refuses to be ignored in this thoroughly enjoyable read. This is another great emotive romance from this highly talented author. I have to admit that her books are one of those that jump straight to near the top of my tbr pile whenever they become available. I have no hesitation in highly recommending this and any of her other books to anyone who enjoys superbly crafted cowboy romances like this!
I requested and received a copy of this novel via NetGalley. This is my honest review after choosing to read it.
Soraya Lane certainly knows how to write a great second chance romance. Even better it features a cowboy! This is the second book in the series, but it can easily stand on its own. Lauren and Tanner were high school sweethearts and when she broke things off before college, Tanner never forgave her. But then he never got over her either. So when Tanner needs her help to get over his injuries, he never imagined rekindling their romance. Great characters and an engaging story line kept me reading way past my bedtime, but it was totally worth it! Looking forward to more from this author.
Second chance romance is one of my favorite troupes. This one does not disappoint in the love hate emotions that run through this book. Tate Ford and Lauren Lewis had a youthful romance that they thought would last a lifetime then Lauren’s parents gave her an ultimatum, give up Tate, the reckless motorcycle riding, drinking bull rider or they would not pay for her college. Tanner is one of the winningest bull riders there is. While riding in the World Finals he’s terribly hurt, his sister convinces him he needs a therapist if he ever want to regain the championship. She’s set it all up for him, several weeks on a beautiful tropical island with the best therapist there is Laurann Lewis the girl he hates, the one that broke his heart. Lauren has worked hard to make her career what it is, no flirting and no dating her clients. She works long hours with very little time off she will enjoy this vacation to its most and if it gets upgraded so she can help Tanner Lewis then so be it. She only hopes she hasn’t made a mistake, the last time she’d seen Tanner it nearly killed her to leave him. The chemistry between them is electric, Lauren ignores,it because she knows he will never for give her for breaking his heart. Tanner is being a jerk to cover for his confusion over his feelings for Lauren, as they say there’s a fine line between love and hate. One kiss changed everything. They struck up a deal, a sexual relationship while they are on the island. Lauren’s in control during the day with Tanner’s rehab and Tanner is in control when the sun goes down and the sexy times begin. It all made so much sense in the beginning but heartache and Year’s apart didn’t seem to kill the love they had for each other but forgiveness and trust my be what gets in their way. I enjoyed this book and I loved lauren and Tanner the problem I had is it didn’t hold my attention until halfway through.
**My thanks to NetGalley and St Martin's Press, for providing me with a free copy for an honest review**
Although this is the second book in a series it can totally be read as a stand alone story.
This is a second chance at love book where book characters we together as teenagers but broke up and found each other due to outside circumstances later in their lives, starting with animosity and where the chemistry is still very much there between them.
Tanner has taken some nasty injuries with his last bull ride and his sister has arranged for him to meet up with Lauren on her holiday in order to get the best PT she could find.
Both have struggled after the break up in finding the right partner for their life and it is only after meeting again that they both discover that they are still in love with each other, but have trouble admitting to each other and themselves what they really want.
Its a lovely story of reconnection, love and a happy ever after with a decent epilogue that leaves you feeling happy.
Ahh… Cowboys. Filling boots and stirrups in only the way they can. Tanner? Well, he fit the bill nicely. Recovering from a horrible injury from his last ride, having his old flame be his physical therapist was not what he ordered. His high school girlfriend dumped him abruptly and since then he’s never been able to trust anyone outside his family. Lauren wasn’t looking for a second chance with the love of her life but it seemed she was getting one…
Set in beautiful Bali, it was neutral territory where they argued, grumped and tried to come to grips with the hurts of the past. There was steam and heart to hearts that told me the sparks were still there.
I admit, I struggled with this story at times. From why the break up happened to the hot/cold nature of their relationship now. At the end though, things sorted out in just the right way. This was a solid first read by this author and I will be looking for more from her… ~Diane, 3.5 stars
I truly enjoyed this wonderful second chance romance. Lauren and Tanner are both good strong characters that are passionate and strong willed. They were high school sweethearts and Tanner had thought they would be together forever. Right up until Lauren broke it off with him and left town without a glance back. Now they are reunited and forced into each others lives. They have no choice but to deal with the past.
This book is very well done and I think everyone will enjoy it. I definitely recommend.
“That damn bull broke my body, but you were the one who broke my heart.” I really enjoyed this second chance romance. The story grabs you from the prologue with the full action of the bull ride that eventually brings these two former lovers together. The characters are fully developed, interesting, and I genuinely wanted them to reach their HEA. They are both successful at and committed their careers. While they are mostly strangers after twelve years apart, they still have smoking hot chemistry that comes off the pages. I liked that the characters had to work through their issues; he was hurt and she had guilt. I liked that they didn’t automatically fall into bed together, they had to work through their past. All Night with the Cowboy is a good cowboy/second chance romance. It is book 2 in the series but can be read as a standalone. Thank you to St. Martin’s Press for the ARC
**I received a copy of All Night with a Cowboy from St. Martin's Press and Net Galley in exchange for a voluntary and honest review**
All Night with a Cowboy by Soraya Lane is the second book in the authors River Ranch series. I've read Ms. Lane's other series and give this book 4.8 stars.
When Tanner Ford is seriously injured while competing in Bull riding his sister steps in and arranges for him to have physical therapy from a former flame Lauren Lewis. She broke his heart when she left him to go to college but now she's a the best therapist to none other but the Texas Rangers. But in order to have her help him Tanner must go on vacation with her to Fiji. (We should all be able to do this). Will they rekindle their romance or can both former lovers keep it just friends?
Lauren Lewis was given the hardest choice by her parents: go to college for what she wanted badly or take out loans and keep Tanner for her boyfriend. She chose what she knew was a heartbreaking choice let him go and have no loan debt for the best job ever at the Rangers. Little did she know that 10 years later her newest patient will be her former love and her plus one on her vacation to Fiji. But will she be able to keep her rule of no touching with her patients? Plus will Tanner give up Bull Riding after he heals from his injury? Can they make their love work for both of them and for the rest of their lives?
Copy kindly received via Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.
The story line for this one was a good idea - a second chance romance - however I found that the main characters kept bringing up how much they hurt each other in the past. It was quite repetitive. It felt like the story dragged a little bit, as yes, things were happening, but if felt like nothing was moving forward at the same time.
I liked the characters in the book, however it just seemed to drag a little for me. Maybe its just my reading slump at the moment, I'm not too sure.
I would like to read more from this author though.
~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~
This is the second book in the series, and we get to meet up with Mia and Sam who star in book 1, but as this centres around her brother Tanner, it is not essential to have read that book first.
Tanner has always done his own thing and resisted all attempts to change his career to something less dangerous than being the best bull rider in the world. Even a serious accident will not deter him - in fact his stubbornness makes him even more insistent. Little does he realise that his one true (but lost) love will be the PT helping him recover his strength. On an idyllic island in Fiji ... Of course, Soraya Lane plots her romances with great skill, and we know that the layers of animosity will need some serious conversations to resolve, but the chemistry is going to burn through any issues they may have about getting all close and personal again!
There is a lot of growing up going on in this story, especially given the protagonists are just entering their thirties. Emotional maturity got stifled by what happened between them at 18, and it is great fun and very hot watching them reigniting the flame, and then deciding what they actually want from each other. Inevitably there are more hurdles to climb, but I love how the story unfurled.
I highly recommend this book to you, it would be perfect beach reading, but also good curled up in front of the fire! An interesting mix of sports, cowboys and hot romance.
When it comes to Tanner Ford, Lauren Lewis knows she let the best thing to happen to her slip through her fingers, but at the time she felt like it was the best thing to do. She was given a choice, and she made the one that was right for her at the time, but now she realizes it was a huge mistake, one that she has regretted for a long time. But lucky for her, Tanner is back in town, still single, and needs her help, the only problem is he only needs her expertise in sports related injuries...
Tanner Ford has had an amazing career thus far on the rodeo circuit, but his latest injury might just take him out permanently, unless he does something drastic to get his body and mind back on track. So he heads home to heal, and seeks out the best physical therapist he can find, and winds up finding a whole lot more than he bargained for... a gorgeous old flame to be precise! But he's not looking for love right now, and certainly not with the woman who broke his heart all those years ago!
All Night With The Cowboy is second chance romance at it's best, with it's emotionally driven plot, and delightful characters you can't go wrong with this one!! I have to say I loved this series visit even more than the first, this story line struck a cord with me, had me really feeling the words, and continually flipping the pages... simply said, it was unputdownable!! This beautifully written story is guaranteed make you smile and swoon, inspire a few blushes, and leave your heart happy! Highly recommend you take a chance on it, you won't be disappointed!!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from NetGalley, and voluntarily read and reviewed it.
All Night With a Cowboy is a great second chance with a first love romance with strong, compelling characters that easily draws readers into their story. The romance is sweet and the sizzling chemistry between these two burns red hot with lots of passion but the relationship is an uphill battle as past hurts interfere and emotions run high which keeps readers in suspense until the very end.
I enjoyed reading Tanner and Lauren’s story, they were interesting characters and had a way about them that had sincerity and the passion flowing from the pages. The overall second chance romance was inspirational as well making readers feel good although it was it bit angsty though that was to be expected with of the past hurts this couple experienced and I found that while both characters were stubborn, the author presented in such a way that it wasn’t overdone or too much drama. I haven’t read the first book in the River Ranch series but I had no trouble getting to know Tanner and Lauren as it is a standalone story and I found that Soraya Lane brought her characters to vivid life and made it easy to picture each and every scene with well written descriptions.
I haven't read the other book in this series but this was a standalone so I wasn't missing out.
One of my not so secret guilty pleasures is when a main character in the story is injured in some way and the love interest is either their physical therapist, trainer, doctor or something. I don't know why but I just love those stories. I guess you could say Florence Nightingale genre or something. Anyway, this story is that and a second chance romance with some laughs and sadness thrown in.
A great story and an awesome series from what I can tell! Another guilty pleasure is the small town romances or where there's a ranch or something. And again this book has it. Definitely keeping my eye out for more of this series!
ARC was provided by the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
This is a great second chance trope romance. The story was a little different in that the hero was a bull rider who had suffered some major injuries and the heroine was the Physical Therapist hired to get him healed and strong enough to go back on the circuit. It's even more different, because he actually has to join her in Fiji on her vacation to get her to work with him. They have a past which makes it all uncomfortable. The story was good and kept me flipping the pages. I liked both Tanner and Lauren. The more remote characters were also fairly well developed and easy to like. In another review, someone said the story was predictable. Well, it is a romance. Romances end in happy ever afters...thank goodness!
This second chance romance is fun, flirty, and sexy at its best. Tanner and Lauren have chemistry that explodes off the pages and keeps those pages turning. When Tanner is severely hurt while on the rodeo circuit he heads home to heal and though the doctors tell him his career is over he is determined to resume where he left off. He hires the best physical therapist he can find even though it is his long lost love. This is definitely a keeper and a recommended read for this summer!
**Received this ARC for review from the publisher via NetGalley**
This book didn't improve on the first one for me. I hated how much the shared past of Tanner and Lauren got rehashed! Some of it was logical, but most of it felt like it was being done for angst and drama's sake, making it an actual hindrance to the romance! I also hated Tanner's attitude regarding his career! His "determination" was nothing more than living in denial-land, and could have killed him! I was bored while reading it, and had to force myself to continue it, because I knew I had the next one in the series to read! Would not recommend!
We head back to Texas and the Ford family in this River Ranch novel from Soraya Lane.
Tanner, a championship bullrider, has unfortunately been injured during competition and needs the services of a physical therapist.
Lauren Lewis has a solid reputation in the field of sports therapy and is just what Tanner needs BUT Lauren and Tanner were high school sweethearts and she ripped out his heart!
Decisions have to be made though and Tanner needs to get back in the bull ring! So reluctantly, Tanner agrees to employ Lauren to help him get back in shape.
Between misunderstandings and things left unsaid, Tanner and Lauren are pretty much the typical exes.
What they never got wrong however, was their physical relationship and they decide to re-visit it whilst they work on getting Tanner back to full fitness.
As a second chance romance Tanner and Lauren tick all the right boxes. Hurt feelings and misconceptions have to be sorted out before their HEA can be within reach.
The story that is weaved in order to get them there is, at times, sad as well as funny and even downright frustrating but be reassured Soraya Lane gets there with style.
With further introduction to the other Ford siblings, we are only left wondering who will be next in the River Ranch saga. I, for one, am looking forward to it!
In All Night with the Cowboy by Soraya Lane, two high school sweethearts get a second chance at love.
Tanner Ford is a bull rider. He loves thrill and has no intentions of slowing down. When a bull gets the best of him and almost ends his life, Tanner must take the time to slow down and heal. In order to heal quickly and revive his career, he’ll need the best physical therapist to work on him. Too bad the best in town is the woman who broke his heart 12 years ago.
Lauren Lewis is one of the best physical therapists in town. She’s young, dedicated, and gets the job done. It’s been 12 years since she ended her relationship with Tanner but she knows she can get Tanner back in shape…as long as they ignore the blazing attraction that’s sizzling between them. Easier said than done. After all, Lauren and Tanner have a history and it’s bittersweet.
Tanner holds a big grudge against Lauren. She did break his heart and all. But it won’t take long before they are blurring lines and rekindling the old flame. Tanner and Lauren are hot together. The connection between the two was obviously still there and the author made the character’s work for their happy ending. Overall, an engaging read. For those who love second chances and cowboys, this is for you!
Gifted read by Netgalley for an honest review. An ok read just not great. Both Tanner and Lauren are immature and lack communication skills! Second chance romance but because of leads it just didn't keep me interested. I am not a fan of acting immature while being an adult. Anyone who has ever been in love, true love, would never ever put a job before the one they love ! Sadly in this book, both did! I kept picturing both leads at different points pouting and stomping their feet!
Lauren sometimes has to give herself a pep talk, “***,” she whispered to herself, looking into her own eyes in the reflection and wishing they looked more confident and less scared little mouse. “You don’t forget how to do it, girl. It’s like riding a horse.” When it comes to Lauren, Tanner can be a pretty lenient guy, “oh, I have no problem being taken advantage of,” he said, lying back with his arms above his head. “For the record, I’m all yours.” A man just needs to put his foot down at times, "...I’m eating pancakes and bacon and there ain’t nothing you can do to stop me.” Tanner stole another kiss and slapped her butt , and it was almost impossible to scowl at him as he winked..." I liked this book, I loved Tanner.
