Hang on tight. When it comes to love, this loyal soldier plays rough.

Amber:
Two years ago I would’ve made a play for a guy like “Bam” in a heartbeat. That was before my father died in a puddle of blood in the middle of a parking lot, before I swore off his fellow bikers and their stupid “business.” But I still need answers about what happened to my dad, which is why I’m poking around at a nightclub owned by the Russian mafia. And that’s where I run into Bam, who carries me out of the club in his ridiculously strong arms like I was True Brothers property.

Bam:
Motorcycle club princess Amber Bennett is the last person I’d expect to see at a club like Howl. She’s flirting with some dangerous people, and it’s my duty to step in and protect her before she gets in over her head. Like I don’t have enough on my mind without cleaning up Amber’s drama. Besides, she’s the definition of off-limits. If only she weren’t so f***ing hot. And determined to take care of everything herself. And oddly vulnerable. Because when we cross the line, I’m forced to choose between my true family — or my true feelings.

4.5 Bam stole my heart Stars

Rough Ride, the 4th book in the True Brothers MC series, was so good. This book is Stitch's Daughter Amber and Bam's story. I love seeing them get their HEA. In the last book my heart broke when Stitch was killed. So seeing the aftermath of his death and how strong his family ending up becoming was bitter sweet. Bam in the last book made some mistakes and felt like he let his brothers down. I loved seeing Bam as a strong protector in this book. He was sexy, tough, and loyal. He loved hard and put it all on the line for his woman. I loved Amber too. She was sweet and sassy. She loved her family and gave everything to hold them together after losing her father. I loved Bam and Amber together. There was such a great build up to their relationship. They had so much sexual tension that when they got together it was smokin' hot. I really loved the plot of this book. I loved how Bam stepped up to protect Amber from her crazy Russian mob boss stalker. Speaking of Russian mafia bosses, am I the only one that really liked Ruslan's crazy stalker ass? I mean I don't know why but I found him hot and sweet in his own crazy kinda way. . This book was a great read for me. It would have been a 5 star read but towards the end Amber had a moment when she should have stood by her man, but she ran and it really left a bitter taste in my mouth. Other than that this book had tons of action, romance, and sexy bad ass bikers. I can't wait to see what's next!

Amber’s father, a True Brother club member, was shot a year ago. She is adamant about finding information leading to the person who was responsible but has been stonewalled by the club. When she questions someone from the Russian mafia about it, things take a slight turn. And suddenly she’s being thrown over Bam’s shoulder and ushered out of the meeting. The last thing she wants is to get involved with a club member but Bam’s constant vigilance slowly begins to wear her down.

Bam knew who Amber was, had even seen her a time or two. Nevertheless, he wasn’t prepared for the instant attraction he felt when he came face to face with her. But she’s club property and a club princess to boot and he’s not worthy of her. When things heat up with Amber’s Russian suitor he has to take a stand and then hopes his brother’s won’t kill him for it.

I loved Bam so much! He’s just a great big hunky teddy bear when it comes to Amber. Once his decision to claim her is made he doesn’t fight it. He was so sweet and gentle and even a bit humorous as he walked her through the beginning of their relationship. Amber was living with anger from the shooting but when the opportunity to accept Bam’s ownership arrived, she didn’t hesitate. Unfortunately, when things turn nasty she is thrown back into the past and an up-close and personal view of what her future could look like.

This was a fast paced read with a nice bit of steam and some decent chemistry. I loved the brothers as well as Amber’s best friend. It’s actually a rather low angst story with just a bit of drama. It gives us a tiny look at club life with the True Brothers but I wouldn’t have minded more. This is a great read for some chill time with a comfortable book that requires little more than for the reader to just sit back and enjoy.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book provided by NetGalley and Random House Publishing. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

If you are like me and enjoy a good MC book but want it as a safe read without all the club women and cheating, then you need to read this series by Gillian Archer. It's completely safe. Well, there is violence but you don't have to worry about the men straying. It may take them a bit to acknowledge their feelings but so far the men are loyal to the women.

This one was a bit more exciting due to the fact the Amber drew the attention of Ruslan from the Russian mafia. It's not a love triangle but he does seem to think he's in love with her. He was sweet in a psychotic sort of way. Amber can thank Ruslan for getting Bam in her life because of his stalkerish ways.

I liked seeing Bam's protectiveness towards Amber and I loved them as a couple. They are younger and you can see a bit of immaturity there but overall I really liked this couple.

I got what I asked for...this is Bam's book. Bam looks like a Viking and takes what he wants which happens to be Stitch's daughter, Amber. She's had it rough since the last book taking care of her family, but Bam swoops in and helps out. Amber does something stupid which gets her unwanted attention from a crazy Russian. Now who's up next I'm not really sure.

OMG!!! You know that moment when you open your Kindle and the next book. But you kind of "forgot" that you had the book. And then you were like, "wait a sec, didn't this series end?". And then you start reading it, and you're like, "HOLY. MOLY. YEEEEEEEES!!!!", because you realize that it's THAT series. The series that you find yourself re-thinking about. Yep. That's EXACTLY how I felt with this one.

DISCLAIMER - Although I won't be "spoiling" anything within this review, I reference things in the previous book that could be considered a spoiler if you haven't read it yet. So stop reading this if you haven't read the other books first. Just sayin...

Amber is the daughter of Switch. Yep, THE Switch. Tank's best friend and the one that no one wants to talk about. But Amber needs answers. She needs to know that the guy who took his life is suffering worse than she and her family are. That's how she ends up in the one place she shouldn't be in. Talking to the one guy who she shouldn't be talking to, and setting up a chain of events that will forever change her life.

Bam isn't a prospect anymore. He's a full voting member of the True Brothers MC and damn proud of it. Having his Brother's backs and knowing that they have his is more than he could ask for considering where he's come from. And he's willing to put all of it on the line once he gets to know Amber. Because now that he knows her, now that he's seen her, he'll do just about anything to keep her not only safe, but his.

YOU GUYS!!!!! I've enjoyed each and every one of these books. But this one! This one had me all wrapped up in bed, flipping these pages, gasping and crying and laughing and smiling and sighing. This story was so much. I loved Amber's drive and courage. I loved Bam's protectiveness and heart. These two really were made for each other. This wasn't just True Brothers MC, this was True Love.

And why does it feel like the end? Where the last one made me "think" it was over, this one "feels" like it's over. Geez. I actually just got really sad. I hope not. I'm honestly in love with these guys!!!!

Rough Ride was the fourth book in the True Brothers MC by Gillian Archer.

I’ve taken a break from formal reviews for a while, but a couple quick thoughts: I enjoyed both Amber and Bam. I didn’t necessarily see their connection as quick as it was portrayed, but I liked them none the less. I also liked the storyline and the inclusion of the Russian Mafia. I would have liked more explanation on the rival MC. It wasn’t a deal breaker but would have provided more depth and dimension to the storyline. Otherwise, it was a quick and enjoyable read.

Pretty good read. It just seemed a tad flat. The interaction between the two at first seemed YA the you hit 52% and then it turned into a sex fest. Not much MC stuff just a touch. Some action at the end. It just seemed flat and cookie cutterish. The characters were nothing to get excited about. Bam and Amber did not have the piazza that makes you integrested and reading because you can’t wait to read about them. It did not hold my attention like the previous books. It wasn’t a bad read, it just wasn’t a great read.

This is the first book by Gillian that I have read and I am sooo glad that I did. I absolutely loved this book and now will be going back and reading the first 3 in the series. :)

I'm a sucker for a good MC romance and Bam & Amber gave me everything that I could hope for in an MC couple - from there bickering and chaos to there happy moments and love, it really was a great novel.

Not only that but it was very well written, often times I feel like MC novels can be too unrealistic but this one was just the right amount of everything. I definitely recommend this book to anyone that loves MC romance.

Why haven’t I read this series from the start. I love MC stories and once I started reading Bam & Amber’s Story I was hooked. Bam & Amber were meant to be but Ruslan might have something too say about that. Between the crazy shoot outs to losing a love one and finding love, this story had it all. I will definitely get one clicking the other books in this series.

Quickly paced and well written, Rough Ride is the 4th book in a series of standalones. Rough Ride was my introduction to the series and I had no trouble diving right in and staying there.

Amber is a woman looking for answers and grasping at the strings holding her family together. When she finally gets close to those answers, Bam swoops in to get her out of there and their chemistry is explosive. Amber is tough and determined. Bam is just swoon-worthy. He’s the tall, silent type, he can be ruthless, but is gentle.

Overall, Rough Ride was a low angst story. The book moves quickly and captures the reader. Rough Ride made me so excited to go check out the earlier books in this series! Recommended to the reader looking for a safe MC read.

Mafia and tongues and threats to your balls. You sure know how to live.

Ha! How on earth does one get over a sexy Viking-looking caveman biker? You don’t.

If you’ve ever wondered about how Gillian Archer manages to keep people from their beauty sleep, let her introduce you to Bam Bam and Kitten, both the main characters in her fourth installment of the True Brothers MC series, Rough Ride.

MC princess and very-off-limits, Amber proves to be everything Bam doesn’t want or need in his life. He, however, reluctantly has to let her ride on the back of his bike to drop her off at home.

Bam is all long blonde hair and beard. But he’s also human and we find more and more of his layers removed as the story moves on.

Amber, feisty and strong and quick to tell you where you can jump off. She’s annoyed with being followed and more so by this blonde Viking-looking biker who seems just as irate as she is with the situation. She doesn’t let up too easily but given enough time, she finds the upside of being under Bam's eyes.

It was sweet in that badass-biker-who-had-feelings-for-me-and-didn’t-want-to-piss-me-off kinda way.

Too bad there’s a Russian mafioso who can’t seem to read between or above any lines.

Things never go as they should and with a few unexpected twists and turns and wanting to punch through a wall yourself, things eventually go much, much better.

Bam is drawn in but Amber isn’t someone who can be used and tossed away like a toy he might get bored with, as his brothers who form the rest of his biker group are quick to remind him.

I’ve always been a smart-ass. I was just hiding it behind my raging paranoia and rampant stupidity.

But with a very important and altering decision to make, does he brave it for a chance to make the rest of his life one hell of a sweet ride with a woman who matches his stubborn and crazy or for the men who have been his closest family for as far back as he can remember?

This. Book. Is. So. Damn. Good.

It’s an epic-badass-biker-who-melts-your heart-kind of five star read!

This is a great read – definitely has a bit of a slow start but really picks up after the first few chapters. The hero in this book, Bam Bam, is probably one of my favorite characters in a long time – he’s swoon worthy.

Amber’s father was president of the True Brothers MC until he was murdered. Now, Amber wants nothing to do with the club as they’ve pretty much turned their backs on she and her mother plus they’re not willing to give her details on her fathers death. On a mission to ensure that the man that killed her father was “properly taken care of” Amber winds up at a bar owned by the Russian mafia and their scary leader, Ruslan, takes immediate interest in her – Bam Bam swoops in and gets her out of there. When Bam Bam realizes that Amber’s family hasn’t been taken care of since her fathers passing he makes it his personal mission to change that, while also keeping her safe from Ruslan and keeping his growing feels for her taped down.

Though I loved Bam Bam’s character and he was my favorite – Amber’s character was also pretty great. She’s fierce, determined and won’t let anyone get in her way when she’s on a mission. When her and Bam get together they light the pages on fire with passion. This is my favorite book from the series so far – the absolute only thing I didn’t like about it was that I feel like an MC would never “forget” about a previous presidents family like they did Amber’s – on that same note, it’s definitely made up for. I think this is the first MC romance I’ve read (and I’ve read a lot) that the male was willing to give up his club for a woman – it was a refreshing change. I’m looking forward to more from Gillian Archer!

I am hooked on the True Brothers MC series and was glad that now we have Bam Bam’s story. Even though Amber was a MC Princess she had to leave college to take care of her grief stricken mother, Brittany, so that there was someone home to take care of all the bills and pull her mother out of her own puke since she had hit the bottle since her husband was gone. None of the True Brothers MC, including her own brother who was prospecting for them, was around since her dad died to help out in anyway so that meant that Amber had to take a skeevy job as a cocktail waitress in a casino with grabby handed men.

Now the MC was finally opening their eyes to all that had been going on to their fallen brother, Stitch’s family. Once known that Amber was being stalked by a Russian Mafia kingpin Bam Bam informed the club and set about making himself her main bodyguard. Bam had a lot to overcome since Amber now hated the MC who left her to pick up her family’s pieces.

This book was such a page turner and hooked me from the start. Rough Ride gave me everything I want in a MC book and sprinkled just the right amount of humor in to take you down from some “in your face” moments. Decisions had to be made and pasts overcome. If you haven’t read the rest of the True Brothers MC series, you are missing out. I can’t wait to see what Brother Ms. Archer gives us next.

I received this book as an ARC for a freely given and honest review.

There are times that even though he doesn't want to admit it, I think Bam gets all jealous, “flowers? What flowers?” Bam demanded." Bam is often times flustered around his woman, “I don’t have standards .” Bam closed his eyes and bit out a curse. “I mean I have standards— clearly— but that’s not what this is about. I just— Eff, why is it so hard to get words out?” I think it's so cute that Bam doesn't understand what his woman is trying to say at times, “You’ve never been with a biker?” Bam blinked at me. “You know we’re like other guys, right? Same equipment and everything. Nothing strange, although I know a few of the guys have piercings. We can talk about that later if you want.” Bam tends to make plans without sharing with his woman and gets upset when they get changed, “what? An hour? When did that happen? I thought we were gonna have the whole afternoon together. I had plans. Wonderful, dirty plans involving you and my beard and your thighs.” I loved this book!

**I received a copy of Rough Ride from Net Galley and Loveswept in exchange for a voluntary and honest review**

Rough Ride by Gillian Archer is the fifth book in her True Brothers MC series and I loved it from first page to the last one. This is Bam's story and one very strong MC Princess, Amber.

Amber has had to step up and be the adult in her family after her father Stitch was killed by a rival Wild Riders MC. Her mom, Brittany Coles is coping with her grief with a bottle so Amber gets a job in a casino and drops out of school. She approaches the local Russian mob boss for answers on her dad's death she meets Bam Bam. Since she refused to ask the MC for help Bam self appoints himself her guard to keep both Ruslan the besotted Russian away. But can Bam calm his libido and not touch Amber because she is under the protection of the club? When a trap is by Wild Riders and someone is injured can she overcome her fears and tell Bam that she'll also be there.

Bam has just earned his True Brothers patch and still work for Maverick in his shop but when he sees Amber at the Bratva's club he know he has to protect her at all costs. The MC is the only family he has after his grandmother passes away so when he assigned to be Amber's guard at the Mother Lode he'll have to keep his feelings buried and claim her as his old lady or risk being booted from the club. When they both give into their feelings will he be able to choose her and not lose the only family he's ever known? Can Amber get over how the MC business took her father and now with Bam can she keep him safe?

Rcvd an ARC at no cost to author..(netgalley) This book was the fourth in the series and I hope you read the previous four to get a better feel..This book was all about the Bam, he was it to me. Amber was annoying to me at first but she eventually won me over and yes I did take into consideration what she went thru and what she was going thru. We had some funny moments that I really liked to combat some of the sadness..

I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads, so here is my review.
Being the daughter of a True Brothers MC member doesn't get you the answers you are looking for. All Amber wants to know is the scumbag who killed her father last year has paid for it. But the members will not tell her anything, so she is going to find the answers herself. She ends up at the club of the Russian Mafia and it is too late when she realizes that she should not be there. When the brothers from the MC show up, she is whisked out of the office. It makes her so mad when they take over every situation.
Bam is a True Brother and is all too eager to protect Amber. She is a club princess and that means she is off limits to him. But he will protect her with everything he has including his life. The more time he spends with her, the more he sees her true colors, she is independent, strong, vulnerable and so hot.
They find themselves drawn to each other but will they cross that line? Bam could lose his club brothers, the only family he has left, is it worth it? Is this true love or just lust?
I love a good MC story and each book seems to get better with each brother but I think Bam and Amber are my favorites so far. If you are looking for a good MC that will have you guessing what happens next, then you need to read this series. I love it and can't wait to see what the next book is going to be about.

4th in this series and this is Hunter's book, aka Bam Bam. After the brutal murder of Stitch in the parking lot, Stitch's family is a bit left behind by the True Brothers MC. Amber, Stitch's daughter, is seeking retribution and closure for her father's death. She starts stirring up the club and the Russian bratva for answers on her father's killer. Bam ends up having to protect Amber after the the Russian's son takes an interest in her. Realizing that Stitch's family has been forgotten about, Bam makes sure the brothers start helping them out again. In the meantime, Amber, who swore she'd never get involved with a biker after her dad's death finds she's drawn to Bam in all the ways she wishes she wasn't. The two start out with a bit of a love/hate thing that turns to lust. But, Amber isn't someone the club will just let Bam "play" with, he has to claim her or leave her be. Bam having to choose between Amber and his brothers who are his only family made for good reading. I enjoyed Bam's character a lot and Amber grew on me more & more. I cant say this was my favorite and it felt a bit rushed at the end with an odd ambush by the rival gang. Also a death that ties things up for Bam & Amber nicely but felt forced to me. Amber having to decide if she wants this MC life and all the violence and uncertainty is done nicely though and I felt for her & her mom in the end. I didn't find any set up for the next brother in book 5 but I'm in for the next one.

Rough Ride is Bam’s story and rather he realized it or not, his life to was about to get complicated. And what better way than with Stitch’s princess daughter Amber. Amber dropped out of college to take care of her grief stricken mother and wanted answers about her father’s death. Soon realizing going to the Russian mafia was the wrong thing to do. Bam has sworn to take care of her but can’t seem to stop thinking about her, allowing their attraction to go further than what it should have. Now the club members are warning him, the Mafia and rival gang Wild Riders are on their back. Who knows Amber and Bam just might make it together!

I received an ARC copy of this book to give my review. I’m so happy that this author continues the series with some of the younger crowd. I loved Bam from the old books and feel that Amber was a good partner for him. The beginning was rough and sad but I liked how strong in showed that Amber was. She was able to step up to the plate and while some of her choices were crazy she did what she had to. Bam has also had his own trials but showed that he wasn’t just an alpha biker but a strong and caring lead. He realized quickly what hardship Amber was going through and followed up on that. While both leads are young there strength shows they’re not little kids which helped with the steamy side. Familiar faces are abound and I hope she’s able to continue with more stories about this biker family because that’s the core to this story. Biker stories are great because of the action but I liked how “real” it felt. I highly recommend this book and if you haven’t read the previous ones don’t worry. 5 stars

Rough Ride is part MC romance, with a dash of crazy Russian mob, and a Romeo/Juliet twist! Having read the previous books, I knew I enjoyed the world Archer created. Bam and Amber's story was delightful!

Amber's dad, Stitch, was in the True Brothers MC until he was shot by a rival gang member and died. Amber's mom crumbled under her grief and her brother abandoned them. Amber had to quit college, take a job as a cocktail waitress at a local casino, and assume the role of adult of the house-paying the bills and cleaning up her mom's drunken mess nightly. Still desperate for answers about her father's death, she heads to a bar owned by the Russian mafia and meets Ruslan. She quickly realizes that she is in WAY over her head but its too late-Ruslan has decided he wants Amber and will do whatever it takes to have her.

I really sympathize with Amber and my heart hurt for her. She is pissed at the club for totally abandoning her and her mom after Stitch died. She calls them out on it too. Bam had no idea that no one had been helping them and that no one knew how bad things had gotten. He steps up but Amber is not buying it. He also steps up to help when Ruslan's gifts get to be a bit much. Bam doesn't feel like he is good enough for Amber and Amber doesn't want the biker bitch life. But, man, once they admit their feelings, these two are #relationshipgoals! Holy moly! What Bam was willing to give up for her? Swoon! Amber has a flashback at the end of her father's death and I loved the way Archer wrote it!

Rough Ride was probably my favorite of the series so far because of Bam and Amber! Their story is sweet and endearing and totally had me crying a few times! I really hope Archer continues the series because I am falling for her True Brothers for sure!

Love Archer's series of the True Brothers MC. All in this series are excellent and follow the same group of characters in excellent plot and romance scrips. Bam is a newly patched member of the club and Amber is off limits to him. Both find themselves in dangerous situations that will put a strain on their attraction to each other. If you like the tough visible individual with a heart hidden inside; you will love this series. Look forward to her next. Great author skills. Wowie!
I greatly enjoyed reading this story! This is book four in the series, but can be read as a standalone. However, I think you would enjoying reading all the previous books first.
This is a story about Bam and Amber. Amber’s father was in the same MC as Bam and was killed last year by a rival MC. Because of this, I didn’t see how these two would work out. The buildup to their relationship was hectic (from outside sources) and sweet (mostly Bam who was willing to give up the MC life for Amber). I loved the support Amber’s mom gave her. I thought it was wonderful how that was added into the story.
You should definitely read this book. You will not be disappointed.
My only complaint is the cover – Bam is described as a blond Viking, but the cover shows a short haired brown headed man. I think this should be changed. I want to see a hot blond Viking! This cover should be used for a different book.

I snatched this book up because I’d seen a conversation about reader on Facebook about how good this series is. A reviewer friend shared their enthusiasm. However, Rough Ride failed to grab onto me like I expected. Amber has sworn off bikers after her dad was murdered because of his club affiliation. After Bam hauls her out of the Russian Mafia’s club, she dismissed her resolve and gets close to Bam. Bam knows he can’t touch the club princess and yet he does. I’m sure the progression of their relationship is meant to show that are so right for each other that they’ll defy club and their own personal rules. I just found it to make them wishy-washy especially the speed at which they came together and Amber’s acceptance of being Bam’s property.

The story had plenty of action and tension to keep the reader on the edge. Ruslan’s obsession with Amber was interesting and added an element that left me questioning from one scene to the next how that would play out. Archer writes very well. I have the other books in this series and will withhold my judgement of Archer until I read them. This book however, failed to wow me.
It’s irrelevant to the book, but the cover annoyed me. It looks nothing like Bam as he’s described in the book. This guy with no tats and short, dark hair is far more frat boy than bad, biker dude. The other books had good covers that fit but this one is just wrong

After reading the first three books in this series and liking them, I looked forward to reading this one. Bam and Amber were secondary characters in the previous books. They’re both young. Amber is 21 and has been grieving over the loss of her father, Stitch, one of the senior club members. Her Mother has went of the deep end in grief and Amber has had to assume the lead role in taking care of the family. Bam, previously a probate, has had his patch less than a year. Bam and Ember don’t immediately fall in lust or love. The relationship slowly builds after Bam is assigned to protect Amber from the Russians. The story was good in dealing with how Amber’s family deals with death and grieving. Rating 3 stars

But he will protect her with everything he has, including his life. The more time he spends with her, the more he sees her true colors, she is independent, strong, vulnerable, and so hot.

They find themselves drawn to each other, but will they cross that line? Bam could lose his club brothers, the only family he has left, is it worth it? Is this true love or just lust?

I love a good MC story and each book seems to get better with each brother, but I think Bam and Amber are my favorites so far. If you are looking for a good MC that will have you guessing what happens next, then you need to read this series. I love it and can't wait to see what the next book is going to be about.

Fourth in this series and this is Hunter's book, aka Bam Bam. After the brutal murder of Stitch in the parking lot, Stitch's family is a bit left behind by the True Brothers MC. Amber, Stitch's daughter, is seeking retribution and closure for her father's death. She starts stirring up the club and the Russian bratva for answers on her father's killer. Bam ends up having to protect Amber after the Russian's son takes an interest in her. Realizing that Stitch's family has been forgotten about, Bam makes sure the brothers start helping them out again. In the meantime, Amber, who swore she'd never get involved with a biker after her dad's death, finds she's drawn to Bam in all the ways she wishes she wasn't. The two start out with a bit of a love-hate thing that turns to lust. But Amber isn't someone the club will just let Bam "play" with, he has to claim her or leave her be. Bam having to choose between Amber and his brothers, who are his only family, made for good reading. I enjoyed Bam's character a lot and Amber grew on me more and more. I can’t say this was my favorite and it felt a bit rushed at the end with an odd ambush by the rival gang. Also, a death that ties things up for Bam and Amber nicely but felt forced to me. Amber having to decide if she wants this MC life and all the violence and uncertainty is done nicely though and I felt for her and her mom in the end. I didn't find any set up for the next brother in book five but I'm in for the next one.

This is a great read – definitely has a bit of a slow start but really picks up after the first few chapters. The hero in this book, Bam Bam, is probably one of my favorite characters in a long time – he’s swoon worthy.

Amber’s father was president of the True Brothers MC until he was murdered. Now, Amber wants nothing to do with the club as they’ve pretty much turned their backs on her and her mother, plus they’re not willing to give her details on her father’s death. On a mission to ensure that the man that killed her father was “properly taken care of,” Amber winds up at a bar owned by the Russian mafia and their scary leader, Ruslan, takes immediate interest in her – Bam Bam swoops in and gets her out of there. When Bam Bam realizes that Amber’s family hasn’t been taken care of since her father’s passing, he makes it his personal mission to change that, while also keeping her safe from Ruslan and keeping his growing feelings for her tamped down.

Though I loved Bam Bam’s character and he was my favorite, Amber’s character was also pretty great. She’s fierce, determined, and won’t let anyone get in her way when she’s on a mission. When she and Bam get together, they light the pages on fire with passion. This is my favorite book from the series so far. The absolute only thing I didn’t like about it was that I feel like an MC would never “forget” about a previous president’s family like they did Amber’s – on that same note, it’s definitely made up for. I think this is the first MC romance I’ve read (and I’ve read a lot) that the male was willing to give up his club for a woman – it was a refreshing change. I’m looking forward to more from Gillian Archer!

Rough Ride is the fourth novel in Gillian Archer's True Brothers MC romance series, a series I've been following since the first book, and a series I've truly enjoyed, but for this reader, Rough Ride fell a little short of my high expectations. I'd given all of the previous 3 novels in this series 5-star ratings, but in my opinion, this one just didn't quite measure up to those earlier novels, and for that reason, I'm giving this novel 4 stars.

Rough Ride is Amber and Bam's story, told in alternating narration, a device I've come to truly appreciate, because it allows you a look into what each of the main characters are thinking and feeling. If you're new to this series, I'll backtrack to an earlier novel to let you know that Amber is the daughter of Stitch and Brittany, members of the True Brothers MC, and one year ago, Stitch was shot and killed in the MC parking lot. His wife, Brittany, was devastated by his untimely death and fell to pieces as she grieved losing him, turning to alcohol to numb her pain.

Amber, at age 20, was about to go away to college, but soon realized her plans would have to wait--she had to find a job to keep a roof over their heads, food on the table and pay off the bills her now alcoholic mother had ignored. Her younger brother was little help. The job she got was as a waitress, wearing a skimpy costume, and working at a casino run by the Russian mob. She had a reason for taking that job, it was a member of the Russian Bratva who killed her father and no one, not her mother or the members of True Brothers would tell her exactly how her father died and what had happened to his killer. It's at that casino where she meets Ruslan, a high ranking member of the Russian Bratva who runs the casino and who, Amber believes, will tell her about what happened the night her father was killed and how his killer was dealt with. Ruslan soon has his eyes on Amber, and will do anything possible to attract her and make her his.

When the True Brothers find out where Amber is working and for whom, they want to keep her safe, and that's especially true of a relatively new member, Bam, who's attracted to her. When they realize that their MC has so let down and ignored Stitch's family, they assign members the job of keeping an eye on Amber and her family, and Bam takes more than his share of that assignment. While Bam's attraction to Amber is growing, so too are Ruslan's attempts to answer her questions about her father's death, as do his attempts to woo her with flowers and a new SUV. He's also started leaving her photos of what the Bratva did to punish her father's killer, but it doesn't stop there, and Bam does what he can to keep her safe.

Amber has mixed feelings. At the outset, she blames the True Brothers MC for everything that happened, her father's death, her mother's alcoholism, the loss of her college plans, and the disintegration of her once happy family, and she wants no part of the biker lifestyle, but she finds herself increasingly attracted to Bam. Meanwhile, Ruslan's attempts to woo her become truly creepy, and start freaking her out, and Bam wants the True Brothers to take care of the problem. There's also a subplot about their ongoing feud with a rival MC, who tried to burn out their clubhouse and mechanic shop across the street. While it put a close to business handled in the previous novel, it just seemed like another distraction from an already complicated story.

While I thought the relationship between Amber and Bam was well written, sweet, and well paced, the sexual aspect of their relationship seemed like a bit too much too soon, and I found it hard to believe, especially considering Amber's virginity and her transformation from novice to sex fiend overnight. For some reason, the author also omitted much of the grittiness I'd come to accept from the goings on at the True Brothers clubhouse--no drunken revelry, no biker sluts, no infighting between the MC members, and it all seemed rather tame compared to the previous novels in the series.

For readers new to this series, I'd suggest you read this series in the order in which it was written. For this reader, it just didn't grab me the way the first three novels did, but although problematic, it was an enjoyable romance read with an HEA ending, it simply wasn't my favorite novel in the series.

I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy of this novel. The opinions expressed are my own.

Amber and Bam do not have the greatest respect for each other upon their first official meeting. Amber has found herself in a bit of a situation after going off on her own to find answers to her father's death. She wants assurances that the man who murdered her father has been at least made to suffer for his death. Amber gets stonewalled by the True Brothers MC so she takes matters into her own hands. She gets more than she bargained for when she finds herself the attention of the Russian mafia. She gets unexpectedly rescued by Axle and Bam who were there for a meeting. She is still very unforgiving of the club and it's members after the death of her father. She lashes out at Bam Bam and pretty much acted like a toddler on their ride home.

Bam knows that Amber is off-limits as she is considered a Club Princess. Amber's father, Stitch, was killed about a year ago and though he barely knew him, he knew what a good man he was. Bam is stunned to find that Amber and her mother have been struggling both emotionally and financially as badly as they have. Bam starts to have some respect for Amber and finds himself drawn to her. Bam didn't just see Amber as a spoiled brat, he saw beneath that to her strength of picking of the pieces of her life and trying to be there for her mother.

Amber left college in order to take on the financial responsibilities of her mother. Her mother, Brittany, has fallen hard into the bottle and can't seem to find her way out. Amber is fully aware that her family doesn't acknowledge issues, they just sweep them under the rug and pretend they aren't there. Amber is feeling the weight of the pressure of taking on too much responsibility and lashes out at Bam quite a bit for it. Bam, to his credit, takes some well deserved anger back to the club and questions why more isn't being done for Amber and her mother.

The Russian situation doesn't not get resolved quickly or easily. Bam and Amber both fight their attraction way too long and the book did start out kind of slow. I liked how Bam put it all on the line for Amber. When he realized how much he was feeling towards her it came as a shock to him, but it wasn't really a surprise to anyone else. I liked how he didn't back down from any demands or ultimatums placed upon him by the club. Amber did have some growing up to do in this book but she did get there with some help from her family and friends. Overall it was a good read and it fit right in with the rest of the books in this series.

I received an ARC from NetGalley for my honest review.

Amber Bennett is searching for answers, ones that will put her on the path of finding out who murdered her father and permanently broke her family. Her search leads her to the door of a seedy looking bar in a desolate area, and puts in the presence of a very dangerous man with lots of connections and lots of resources; surely he can help her find what she craves to know. But before she can really lay any groundwork for her little plan, they are interrupted by her fathers MC club, and within minutes of their arrival she's tossed over Bam's shoulder and hauled out the door, and far away from the man who might be able to help her with her search. Now how is she supposed to learn the truth about her fathers death...

As soon as Bam enters Howl and spies motorcycle princess Amber Bennett cozied up to a very dangerous mafia man named Ruslan he can't help but walk across the bar and pull her out of his embrace and race towards safety. She has no idea who she is in the company of, or the power he holds, and Bam isn't about to see this beautiful woman fall victim to Ruslan's dangerous life... but Ruslan isn't about to give up that easily. With danger constantly lurking and Ruslan sniffing around her, Bam soon finds himself spending a lot more time with Amber than he ever anticipated, and before long this trouble-making beauty starts to work her way into his steel trap of a heart. And that's a whole new kind of trouble that he doesn't need, or does he?

Within the pages Rough Ride lies an addictive, and pulse pounding tale that is certain to have you blushing one minute and on the edge of your seat the next... it's downright mesmerizing! It's been a while since my last visit with the men of the True Brothers MC club and I have to say it didn't take no time at all for me to make myself right at home with them, they are quite a welcoming, (and oh so sexy) bunch. Bam was quite the character, he has a tough gritty side, but every now and again you see a glimpse of a caring and sweet gentleman there too, and of course he is as smooth as all get out too... the man is a gifted dirty talker that is for certain! This was such a wonderful addition to the series, it had moments of suspense, moments that spoke to the heart, and of course moments to awaken your passionate side... all around good read! Highly recommend!!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from NetGalley, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
