Courtney (sekay88) Finished Patricia Briggs' Alpha & Omega #2 Hunting Ground (Alpha & Omega, #2) by Patricia Briggs . Really, really enjoying the Mercy Thompson/Alpha & Omega series'. Easy to see why they are so popular.

Starting Kate Daniels #7, Magic Breaks (Kate Daniels, #7) by Ilona Andrews , the gold standard so far. Between these two series and Nalini Singh's Guild Hunter, don't really have time for much else. They're killing me!

Courtney (sekay88) Finished Magic Breaks (Kate Daniels, #7) by Ilona Andrews , Kate Daniels #7. Amazingly engrossing - yet again. Was thinking while reading this one, that it is similar to In Death in that there is a large ensemble cast that you really care about. If you can deal with fantasy - and probably the most kick-axx, but so likeable, heroine around - you can not go wrong. There is a reason why this is the top-rated series in the Urban Fantasy list.

I finished Dead Wrong by Stacy Green, Delta Detectives #2, and loved it! She's created four short stories based on one of the characters in the Delta Crossroads series (Cage Foster) and if you like mysteries with procedurals, you'll love these. Here's my review.

I also finished the next book in the series, Night Terror, and it was outstanding (review to come).

I'm now reading Hideaway Cove by Anna Sullivan, Windfall Island #2, and am liking it so much more than the first.

If you like your stories gritty, if you like your heroes to take a lot of physical abuse, if you like a good old-fashioned conspiracy, may I suggest this one!

(Of course, the hero and the villains and the innocent bystanders are all vampires...)

I've been listening to The Killer Next Door and am going to set it aside to listen to The Shadows by J.R. Ward. While I'm dying to listen to the next BDB installment, I'm putting the other book aside because it is truly a little bit too twisted for me at the moment. Never thought I'd ever say that.

Jonetta (ejaygirl) | 15052 comments Mod
I'm really happy about getting this. It's because we review so many audiobooks on the blog. This comes from the audio division of the publisher.

The other book isn't scary...it's just disgusting. The serial killer keeps the bodies of the women he abducts and kills and has a home developed "preserving" method that is described in minute detail. Some of the bodies have been there for more than a year. What he does with them is even worse. I can't take it any more.

I just finished the Shakespeare Saved My Life: Ten Years in Solitary with the Bard. I did read it cause the overdrive plugging it, and thought eh why not. I liked it, thought it was interesting. It didn't really have a wonderful flow to it, and some sections ended kind of abrupt, but I still think it was worth the read.

I finished listening to The Killer Next Door by Alex Marwood, narrated by Imogen Church. It was an interesting story, if not gruesome at times (the killer preserved his victims in his apartment).

Jumping off my plan to listen to The Shadows by J.R. Ward, BDB #13, narrated by Jim Frangione. Already hooked.

lorii (Loriidae) A couple of new to me authors this month First Grave on the Right (Charley Davidson, #1) by Darynda Jones with an unusual premise and some quirky humour so I have put book #2 on April's List.

The second was Half-Blood (Covenant, #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout (YA). Almost a DNF. The first half is pretty much a carbon copy of Vampire Academy, but Jennifer L Armentrout rescued it in the second half and I was intrigued to some degree so I have decided to give book #2 a chance.
