15.1 - Moms and Dads
Book 1. Read a book by a female author that was first published during your mother's lifetime, but not your own.
Lucy Gayheart by Willa Cather first published in 1935
My mom was born in 1933 and died in 2015. She was two years old when this book was published, so it is obvious that the book was published (in 1935) before I was born.

Book 2. Read a book written by a male author, first published during your father's lifetime, but not your own.
The Unvanquished by William Faulkner first published 1938
My father was born in 1932 and died in 2016. He would have been 6 years old when the book was published in 1938, so it is obvious that I was born long after the publication date.
