Do you think that for the readathon, more people might sign up if we say that books do not have to be a certain theme, but if they are, you get extra points for that? So like you could read a fantasy and have it still count for a point, but ignore you read a contemporary you would get an extra point for it being themed?
I feel like more people would join, yes.

Also I was thinking for Valentine's Day/February, we could do a "Secret Admirers" type challenge? Basically people would sign up, and we would assign everyone a different secret admirer. The secret admirer would be given a person, but the person they were given wouldn't know who the admirer was. The admirer would suggest a certain number of books and the goal would be to read a few of those books in the month time frame. That was explained pretty horribly and it probably doesn't make much sense XD

Haha I really like the idea and I think I kinda get what you mean! Adding on to that idea, maybe we could have a thread where everyone makes like a bio where they put their likes, disliked, other words to describe them and then when they give their list of books each book kind of goes with one of the things in their “bio” and they have to figures it who their secret admirer is by the books they read?? I feel like that didn’t make sense 😅

So for that we got the idea of doing something related to the gr yearly reading challenge; so like the participants would divide their goal up by 12 month and have read at least that number of books each month.

Yeah, I was thinking each month we could have a specific genre-related prompt, and people participating could try to read at least one book related to that prompt.

Yah I like the bingo idea as well, would we do a “complete the prompt” sort of thing or do something else for the bingo??
Yes! So I could create the Bingo board, and all of us could each think of like 3-4 prompts to fill it in. Then, we would offer the option to either to individual or team.

So let's see.... in January we are having two BOTMs - our normal one and the series catch-up. .. so definitely that one person cannot do both. I love that they do the alternate just in case. So I'd say yes, pretty much the same, unless anyone else can think of something that should be added/changed?

Hello to our new moderators, welcome to the team! I’m pretty sure we have a thread where people can put their blogs, book tube, Wattpad etc so they could post their bookstagram there as well unless you think it should be separate

Sorry I haven’t been active lately but yah I agree with Emma, we should have a mod as back up for discussion leader in case someone can’t do it and also for February are we going to do the secret admirer idea? I like planning ahead and wanted to know haha (and happy new year!)

Pretty much, I was thinking about making a poll and sending out a message for what genre for a book discussion we should start with, and then go from there. Maybe if the discussions are a big hit we can go deeper and do series?
If everyone likes the idea of it I can start the message ASAP! And I am good with doing the secret santa type of thing in February. Should I start doing a rough draft of a Google Form? Or how should I go about that?

I think the google form would be the easiest way, if you are good to create one.
On the form, we definitely need to include Username, and maybe everyone should link their account so that we can be sure we have the right person. Then maybe do favorite genres or things you like or something? What were you thinking?
