TBR: Tempted – Elisabeth Naughton -- I discovered her Stolen series this year but haven’t yet read this series, though I have it!


New Release:
NEW: Heroes Are My Weakness – Susan Elizabeth Phillips -- For both of these I wanted to find stand alone books – I was surprised that this is the only stand alone released in the last 6 months that I've read… guess I’m really glued to series!!!
TBR: Stepbrother Dearest – Penelope Ward -- I read Gemini by this author and loved the premise if not the execution as much – I felt like she needed a good editor and not just for typo’s, simple grammar mistakes. Even so, I really liked the story itself, so I’d be willing to give her another chance – I’d be interested if her writing/editing improves with this one.

NEW: When You Dare – Lori Foster -- I don’t see Lori Foster on your Read shelf or your preferred shelf… she is one of my favorites!
TBR: Hell on Wheels – Julie Ann Walker -- Love love love this series!!!

TBR: Miss Firecracker – Lorelie James -- Of all the authors on your preferred shelf, this is probably my most favorite (with Jill Shalvis or Kristen Ashley coming in as close seconds). I've read this book and thought it was a fun quick read!


Older Book:
NEW: Holding Out For A Hero – Amy Andrews -- Again, wanted to find stand alone's for these. This is one of my 5 star reads this year but was published in 2013.
TBR: Far West – Mairwen Ryder -- this looks interesting and different than most everything else on your preferred shelf. I do like old west historicals!


Next Book in Series:
NEW: On the Edge – Ilona Andrews -- So you aren't technically reading this… yet, but it is on your preferred shelf and I really wanted to stay with the NEW/TBR pattern for each category… so it sorta kinda fits the pattern and the category since it’s technically the next in the series, right?

Hi Kristy! So sorry for the delay, but it is a crazy busy time of year and especially crazy for us this year. I hope I found some good picks for you, lots of them were on your shelves but by authors you have never read - so they are sort of a cross between new and not new for you. I have my fingers crossed here!

New to You Author: You have Simply Irresistible by Jill Shalvis on your shelves, but you have not read anything by her yet - she is one of my favorites! Lucky Harbor stories are always fun and always wonderful! Another new idea for you - The Unsung Hero by Suzanne Brockmann.

New to Me Author: I'm going for new favorites here (as opposed to old favorites) so maybe not exactly recent, but they have both become go to authors for me and I always want to read their new books right away. The very first author I thought of here was Samantha Young, she has yet to disappoint! So I will recommend for you On Dublin Street. Also, The Madness Of Lord Ian MacKenzie by Jennifer Ashley - I do love those Mackenzies!

New Release: I pulled both of these from your preferred shelf. Landline by Rainbow Rowell - this one looks interesting. Heroes Are My Weakness by Susan Elizabeth Phillips - I love SEP! This might not be my favorite of hers, but I still liked it a lot.

New Series: I love Pamela Clare's work, but the first book of hers I read was Extreme Exposure. Her I-Team books are all great, but I am compelled to start at the beginning! Also my first book by an author who is always reliable - Secrets of a Summer Night by Lisa Kleypas. I love this series!

Keep the Old

Your Favorite Author: This one was really hard for me, you have very few authors that you have on your read shelf more than once or twice! It does look like you have enjoyed Lisa Gardner's Quincy & Rainie series so I am going to suggest you continue with the next one - The Killing Hour. You also have a couple of Julie Garwood on your read shelf so I can't help but to recommend Honor's Splendour - loved it!

My Favorite Author: There is no way I can pick just one favorite, but here are some suggestions from authors I haven't already given you to choose from. Something About You by Julie James - wonderful story, I have loved all her books! Exclusively Yours by Shannon Stacey - again, everything she writes works for me and the Kowalskis are awesome!

Older Book: Second Sight by Amanda Quick - I really enjoyed the Arcane series and how it moved between all of JAK's aliases and genres. To Die For by Linda Howard - older LH books are wonderful and this one was hilarious!

Next Book in Series: Nora Roberts in one of my old favorites I mentioned earlier and her alter ego J.D. Robb has become one for me too. You have started series by each of her pen names and I will recommend both of them for you here - Heaven and Earth by Nora Roberts and Glory in Death by J.D. Robb.

1. New to You Author: Kiss an Angel (TBR), I love Susan Elizabeth Phillips, she never fails to make me laugh. She's Gone Country (NEW), A great book about rediscovering inner strength.


2. New to Me Author: Daughter of the Forest (NEW), this was a PIFM pick rec'd to me this year. A tear jerker to say the least. Me Before You (TBR) I haven't actually read this author before, but I have two of her books on my TBR and I'm looking forward to them.


3. New Release: Larger Than Life (TBR), it looks like you're a big fan :)


4. New Series: Graceling (TBR), I've only read the first myself, but it was a good read. A Discovery of Witches (NEW), I thought this series was intelligent and a bit outside of the norm.

5. Your Favorite Author: Shanghai Girls (TBR), I don't know if she's your favorite author, but clearly you're very interested in her.


6. My Favorite Author: I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings (TBR), I could recommend a hundred Maya Angelou books and this one would probably top the list. Making Faces (NEW), another PIFM rec from this list that I just loved. A sweet story that's also a tearjerker.


7. Older Book: Virgin River (TBR), A nice solid beginning to a sweet series. Katherine (NEW), A beautiful story based on the lives of real people in history.


8. Next Book in a Series: The Iron Daughter (TBR), I have to get to this one as well this year :)

I see you like YA and Colleen Hoover is my favourite in that genre... well one of my favourites! I love her writing and this story will draw you in so badly that you won't be able to put the book down.

New to you author
Sempre by J.M. Darhower
I've literally read every book she's ever written so that's saying something about this author. This book is also a YA but it's ver]y long and can get intense. It deals with kidnapping, slavery, mafia, revenge, forbidden love - a whole conundrum of things that is just soo good!

New Release
Nocte by Courtney Cole
A book that recently been released and has people buzzing. I read it and I totally understand why. What did I read? I'm not too sure myself. All I say is keep your eyes open and remain vigilant because whatever your thinking or guessing is completely wrong.

New Series
It Ain't Me, Babe by Tillie Cole
This series is far away from your taste and deals with seriously messed up stuff. It's a series that I have come to recently love and is very new as well, so there's only 2 books out. I'm waiting for the 3rd one to come out and I literally cannot wait!

I Am Malala: The Girl Who Stood Up for Education and Was Shot by the Taliban by Malala Yousafzai
I haven't read this book myself but she is a very brave girl. Stood up for what she believed in, got shot, survived to tell the tale and is still advocating for her beliefs. Malala also recently won the Noble Peace Prize, making her the youngest laureate. A young girl whose willpower will certainly help change a nation.

Vanity, Vengeance And A Weekend In Vegas by Kyra Davis

Shadow and Bone (new) - this book is in the running for my favourite book of the year. i have the two sequels lined up to read next year.

The Year We Fell Down (new) - released mar 2014. this one surprised me with how well it was written. i immediately bought the others in the series.

The first book isn't that good , I read this one first too , and loved it :) you will not have any problem I'd you haven't read the first two books.

Hey Katherine, remember that if you're one of those obsessive people who HAVE to read a series in order (like me!) you can read a different book in a series than what was recommended to you. If that doesn't bother you however, I have to agree with Karen, I didn't like the first one in the series all that much either!

I am not that obsesive, I have some books that I read not first book in series.

tania, i've been amazed to discover that there are many, many people that are that obsessive since i've started interacting here on gr. as long as it's a standalone, i'm fine with reading series out of order. for example, i read Devil in Winter, then It Happened One Autumn. also, read Beast Behaving Badly loooong before i read anything else in the series. and then...have i made you have heart palpitations yet? sorry!

Nancy--Thanks much for all of these great pics...I'm definitely reading Gray Mountain and Rock Chick...have my eye on a few of these new authors too...will see how the month goes. I love PIFM because I learn about new authors I haven't tried...I add everything to my 'to read' list if I can't get to it.
