Updated message 347Thanks Elyssa! I'm pretty excited for this challenge and I have finished 3 books so far. :3
two more completed! my new total: 6/26T: Miriam Toews - Summer of My Amazing Luck - read 1/20/2015
L: Eve LaPlante - Marmee and Louisa: The Untold Story of Louisa May Alcott and Her Mother - read 1/20/2015
Just completed my "A" selection - Stone Mattress: Nine Tales by Margaret Atwood. These stories are classic Atwood! My only criticism is that I wanted more, a little more closure or fleshing out of some of the tales. Worth reading. 3.5 stars8/26
What did you think of The Fellowship of the Ring? I finished that whole series last year. I can't believe I waited that long, the fantasy reader that I am.
Cassandra wrote: "What did you think of The Fellowship of the Ring? I finished that whole series last year. I can't believe I waited that long, the fantasy reader that I am."I loved it Cassandra! You were so right about the names and places that I was freaking about! Lots different from the movie, but I have been reading long enough to know books are usually so much better!!!
I'm glad you found it easier to read than you thought! There are definitely some things that were changed or not included in the movie. The scenes with Tom Bombadil are some of my favorite from the whole series, but I understand why they wouldn't make good movie material. I just watched the movie for the first time, and I actually think the movie script does a slightly better job of organizing the events, but nothing compares to reading it in full.
Tom was a great character!!! I loved how they lost track of the time they were in his house and his lovely daughter. I have seen the movie a thousand times, it being one of my sisters favorite movies. After the book I started last night I will be starting the next in the trilogy!

Just completed my "F" selection - First Frost by Sarah Addison Allen. Overall, I enjoyed this book. However, I found it very repetitious of the first Waverly novel. I understand some of that had to be explained for new readers, but not all of that was necessary. It was also a slow start. The charm and fantasy finally came through about 1/3 of the way in. Good ending. Worth reading. 3.5 stars9/26

Just completed my "L" selection - Landline by Rainbow Rowell. This book proves the adage that one shouldn't judge a book by its cover (this is an awful cover for a book!). The book was fantastic, a quick read, fresh concept, interesting complex characters, quotable lines, so good! My only criticism was that there was a bit more left unresolved at the end then I would like but it was just a tad bit more. Definitely worth reading! 4.5 stars10/26
