I read Les Miserables every year, so I would definitely jump in on a buddy or group read read. It has been years since I read The Count of Monte Cristo, but I remember it being a very good book. It doesn't seem as long as it actually is once you start reading it.

Really like the idea of this! I don't really want to limit myself to the genre or author I read throughout the year, so number of pages is a goal that offers great flexibility.

Well nothing forbids you to count the pages you read for class. For the past 8 years I've been doing diploma over diploma trying to find myself a calling. So I understand it limits your reading time. Moreover you don't always feel like reading for fun when you read for school all day long. I couldn't count the articles, but I surely count the monographies.

I hope you'll like it. I like it because no character is black or white. The "evils" have often a lot of redeeming qualities and the "heroes" a lot of flaws. Even if it's a company of brother, many of the most important caracters are women, and they are not damsels in distress.

Courtney, go in "my book" at the bottom of the left menu you have stats, clic it. At the top, you have books read, pages read and year read. Clic on pages you'll have the number of pages you read by year.
