Brenda wrote: "Next Girl Missing (#1 in new series) by Aussie author L.A. Larkin and Her Deadly Truth (#2 in same series) are both on NG!!"Thanks Brenda
I was approved for the first but declined for the second so that's a little annoying.
Well that's annoying! I just discovered a book which had a publication date of 14/8/23 (obviously not on my radar for reading yet) has had the pub date changed - to 14/4/23!!! Have put my partially read book aside to start this one! I do wish they would notify their readers when this happens!
Brenda wrote: "That's weird Bec!! What a shame :("I was reading their guidelines for acceptance and wonder if it's based on my ratio feedback. They state they take that into account. Before the approved book 1 I would have been at 89.6% (so probably rounded up to 90% as they show no decimal places), whereas once book 1 was added in it moved down to 88%.....that's all I can think of. Should have waited to request until I had read some of the others I've got outstanding as some I'm getting to soon.

Yes that is very annoying! I'm the same and order mine to read in time for publish date, but not always straight away. I've currently got 6 to read!!
I also do ARCs directly for authors so have a lenghty list of ARCs...I always get to them before publish date though.

What I am excited about is being approved for the latest Will & Sara book by Karin Slaughter, After That Night.
Now to resist jumping the queue...
AAAAAH! All these tempting books and I have to say No to them as I already have too many netgalleys to read (well maybe I can add just one...)
I knew I shouldn't have gone into Netgalley to request just one little book!If any one else has been reading Anne Mette Hancock's Scandinavian mystery series, the third book is Read Now (I enjoyed both the first two)
Ruthless (Crooked Lane, pub 10 October)
Carolyn wrote: "If any one else has been reading Anne Mette Hancock's Scandinavian mystery series, the third book is Read Now (I enjoyed both the first two)"Thanks Carolyn, I haven't read the first two, but this sounds really interesting and I generally love Scandi Noir!

I wouldn't classify them as very dark noir, although this one sounds like it could be darker. The main characters are a journalist and a detective based in Copenhagen.
Marianne wrote: "Just spotted Allen & Unwin on NetGalley!"Yah, hopefully they keep offering.
On another note, has anyone requested and received The Summer Place by Janette Paul?
I requested this on 23rd March and it’s published next Wed but haven’t heard anything yet😞
Brenda wrote: "I received a paper ARC which I have read and reviewed! It's great! Good luck Marlin."I’m so looking forward to reading this Brenda but would rather know yes or no!

Yes I understand that. It's funny how some respond almost immediately and others take days, sometimes weeks.

Robert Bryndza new stand-alone, Fear The Silence is up for request. I was declined: their loss IMHO.
Marianne wrote: "Robert Bryndza new stand-alone, Fear The Silence is up for request. I was declined: their loss IMHO."
It must be a random luck-of-the-draw, Marianne, because after seeing your post, I requested it and got it, and I've read only the first in his Erika Foster series. Maybe they're trying to get me hooked?
Anyway, thank you for being so good about giving us a heads-up. I always mean to check NG, but I forget and miss things!
Brenda wrote: "Thanks Jools - I've been looking regularly, yesterday the latest!"It came up in the wee small hours 😉
Thanks for the heads-up Marianne and Jools. I only allow myself to check NG once or twice per month so do miss a few books I really want to read.

Thanks for the heads-up, Marianne - I've thrown my hat in, but will honestly be surprised if I'm approved, as I'm a bit behind with my NG reads at the moment and am sitting at about 75%. It's sometimes frustrating though, isn't it, to be rejected for the latest book by an author / publisher you've been faithfully reviewing for ages?

Indeed! I've never been declined for this author before and I have a 93% feedback ratio, so...
Fr those who missed out two years ago, as I did, When Things Are Alive They Hum by Hannah Bent is up for request.
For those who read Going Under by Sonia Henry she has her latest book on NG called Put Your Feet in the Dirt, Girl. Published by Allen & Unwin. I just got approved for it. Sorry I can’t link it as it’s not in the system yet :)
Sharon wrote: "For those who read Going Under by Sonia Henry she has her latest book on NG called Put Your Feet in the Dirt, Girl. Published by Allen & Unwin. I just got approved..."I requested that on Friday but nothing yet 😞.
Six Ostriches AUDIO is available for request from NetGalley UK, #2 in the Dr Bannerman Vet Mystery series, for those who enjoy audio (=me!)
Brenda wrote: "Here you go Sharon.
Put your Feet in the Dirt, Girl by Sonia Henry"I fixed up the author (there is two) so her two books are together
New Aussie Author Lucy Lever has her debut book coming out 5th July rural romance and it is available for request on NetgalleyMystic Ridge Lucy Lever
