Brenda wrote: "Also The Woman Who Knew Too Little by Olivia Wearne historical mystery set in Adelaide about the Somerton man."Ahhhh, I'm trying to knock off my netgally books before I request more, but I couldn't pass on this one given I live in Adelaide like 2 minutes from Somerton beach....:P
Thanks!
Brenda wrote: "Also The Woman Who Knew Too Little by Olivia Wearne historical mystery set in Adelaide about the Somerton man."This one sounds really good but I am so far behind
Brenda wrote: "Never mind Helen, you could pick it up later if it gets good reviews :)"Yes I think I will wait a bit I have so many books to read
Brenda wrote: "Also The Woman Who Knew Too Little by Olivia Wearne historical mystery set in Adelaide about the Somerton man."Approved for this :)

So was I Marianne.
Brenda wrote: "Also The Woman Who Knew Too Little by Olivia Wearne historical mystery set in Adelaide about the Somerton man."I've still got Kerry Greenwood's book Tamam Shud: The Somerton Man Mystery to read so I might pass for now (also trying to rein in my out of control NG shelf again!)
I hope we all enjoy it anyway - and if we do Carolyn, you might be able to pick up a copy down the track if you're interested :)

I'll have to see how you like the new one Bec.
Just finished Katherine Kovacic's Seven Sisters, a brilliant read but it once again confirms for me what an unfriendly app the NetGalley app is! It's hard to navigate, it expires after 55 days (unless you download again) and you can't highlight text.
The only reviewer so far on NetGalley gave it 3 stars because of the inconvenience of the app.
I wonder why the publishers offer it at all if they're going to go with such an awful app.

There's also the page layout. Sometimes the book has tiny printing which you can't change (showing my age) or the page endings are weird and annoying.

I hate the app so much that I don't usually ask for books that have to be read on it, unless it's an audiobook or something I really, really want to read.
Available for request on Netgalley Sorry I can't find it on Goodreads :(

I see that #2 in Dinuka McKenzie's DS Kate Miles series, Taken is up for request, but Harper Collins Au so only via the NG app
Marianne wrote: "I see that #2 in Dinuka McKenzie's DS Kate Miles series, Taken is up for request, but Harper Collins Au so only via the NG app"Thanks Marianne, I still haven't read The Torrent, so I'll also wait until I have and find Taken elsewhere, rather than use the app.
Marianne wrote: "I see that #2 in Dinuka McKenzie's DS Kate Miles series, Taken is up for request, but Harper Collins Au so only via the NG app"It says it's available as a PDF download, so it could be read on Adobe or Bluefire or similar.

Marianne wrote: "Just a Regular Boy by Catherine Ryan Hyde publish 2/5/23 is READ NOW"Oh thanks Marianne and I like Catherine Ryan Hyde.
Just a warning to anyone who has updated reading devices over the Christmas break - I got a new iPhone and realised the 'device setting' for Kindle was no longer current for Netgalley so the last couple of books that I 'sent' had not come through. I have been caught out before and almost did it again.
Marianne wrote: "Just a Regular Boy by Catherine Ryan Hyde publish 2/5/23 is READ NOW"Thanks Marianne, I have only JUST discovered this author and I'm keen to read more.
Sorry if this one has already been listed - Return to Valetto by AA Dominic Smith is Read Now. It's been a while between books for him!
Andrea wrote: "Return to Valetto by AA Dominic Smith is Read Now. "Ooooh... thanks for the heads-up, Andrea! I enjoy his writing, too.
