This is an interesting one because although Netgalley states April 2023, the Text Publishing website has it's listed publish date as 5 October 2022.

I requested three Text books, all with publish dates of 5 Oct, then, two were changed to April 23. Mysterious...

That's odd - Text is Melbourne based, I wonder why NG would have next year on it??

I started reading this last night (I still had its publication listed as Oct 5) and noticed it's got quite mixed ratings on GR. (I didn't read the reviews as I don't want to know what issues people had with it before reading it.) Hopefully I'll be at the positive end of the spectrum!

I grabbed it too Carolyn so it will be good to see your rating…before I read your review…unless you hate it 😆 then I’ll trust your better judgment.
I saw the mixed ratings when I checked it on GR so didn't bother to download - not as if I've got nothing to read!!

It is a PDF, but luckily this doesn't present a problem for my Kindle app on my tablet. I understand it is a problem for those with Kindle devices, though... :(

I don't know what my chances will be to get it, but I found Louise Penny's latest book, A World of Curiosities on NetGalley UK for request.https://www.netgalley.co.uk/catalog/b...

Thanks Patty! I've put my hand up hopefully for that one, but will be surprised to be granted it, as I know how wildly popular Louise Penny's books are. Might be one to put an early "hold" on at the library, though...

Good thought, Sarah - be prepared to pounce!
Popular Kindle author Joy Ellis has a new book out, Solace House (anticipated publication 6 October). It's up as a "Read Now" on NetGalley.

Me too, thanks Tien
Also excited to see Wolf Pack: A Tuva Moodyson Mystery (Tuva Moodyson #5) available for request! Fingers crossed.

Thanks Tien :)
I know this is not exactly the right place to pose this question, but hopefully the right members will see it:Has anyone done the NetGalley Profile Walkthrough yet? I was planning to just get it out of the way, but I've hit a roadbump. I feel like I should link my GR profile to NetGalley, but it makes me nervous to do so, as I'm not certain of the implications (automatic sharing of reviews being the primary concern). Is anyone able to advise? Whether you have linked or not (and why)?
I did it just a while ago Andrea, and I linked my GR profile as well. I'm not worried about that as Goodreads is where my reviews are first posted anyway. I tried to post my latest review in there and found I couldn't until I updated my NG profile. It was fairly easy :)
Do you know if Goodreads is the only site where reviews will be automatically posted from NG? Like Brenda, I don't mind that too much as I always post there first. However, I don't want all my reviews automatically posted on other websites (inc Facebook and amazon).
So if I post a review on NetGalley first, will it automatically save to Goodreads? Meaning that I won’t need to post to Goodreads as well…unless it’s not a NetGalley book.🤔 Is this why sometimes I see reviews have doubled up on GR?

Not sure Carolyn but I think they might post to Amazon also, I’ll find out soon when I post my next review on NetGalley. I always post mine to Amazon au. as well as GR and NG.

No Jools. When I posted mine after I'd done the update, I had to tick a box if I wanted to do that. As it was already there, I didn't tick it. Everything went through as normal.

Thanks for responses. I always post to GR first, so I guess the risk is low. Very occasionally my NG review is a little different from the GR review, so I wonder if that would trigger a double-up? I already had my amazon (US) account linked, but that didn’t automatically post my reviews on Amazon, as they don’t accept mine!! (I post manually on Amazon AU)

When you go through your update, there's twitter, insta and another from memory. I only ticked GR.

Oh that’s good, thanks Brenda. It has asked me the question in the past too so I guess it’s working.
I just discovered though that my Goodreads link in NG doesn’t open and I can’t seem to change it :/
Oh you should be able to edit as what if it changed. Go to your profile and see if you can there perhaps.

My other link works fine 🤷🏻♀️
In amongst all this admin, I discovered that Exiles by Jane Harper is available to request on the UK site (I could only wish for it on US). Sorry if this has been posted before.

Perhaps leave it for a few days and have a look then. Maybe contact NetGalley help after that if you need to.

Yes I think so, they’re probably still ironing things out.
Brenda wrote: "No automatic updates on other sites (including Amazon) unless you tick it."That's good to know Brenda. I don't post everything from NG to other sites - too many NG books vs owned.
