Thanks. Seems they were on this one. I really enjoyed Heather Morris's other books so I hope this is just as good.

Looks good to me. I haven't read it so I've requested. Being from South australia, this sounds great,

I do wish they would mark books as such; there are so many it's easy to pick up one you don't realise you've already read!

But if you do get one accidentally just reuse your previous review:)

message 2062: by PattyMacDotComma (new)

PattyMacDotComma | 3297 comments The Amazon Far Reaches collection of six sci-fi stories are stories that were originally published in 2012, which I found when I tried to review them on Goodreads, where they're listed individually. They're for sale separately on Amazon as well.

As it turned out, I didn't mind, because it added something to know that they were written ten years ago, before some of today's advances.

message 2063: by PattyMacDotComma (new)

PattyMacDotComma | 3297 comments After realising I'm not going to catch up, I have finally apologised to NetGalley and the relevant publishers for not giving feedback on a few books I shouldn't have requested. They are the most recent in a series that should be read in order, ones I'd like to read one day, but my review of the book they sent me will be so old as to be meaningless.

I will try to be more careful in the future. I appreciate it when reviewers let us know if we should have read the previous books!

Bec | 171 comments L.A. Larkin's next in the Sally Fairburn crime series is now on Netgalley First Victim First Victim (Sally Fairburn #3) by L.A. Larkin .
https://www.netgalley.com/catalog/boo...

After being approved for the first, but declined for the second (I have since read it as I got it through KU), I was sent an email about the third. Applied and was declined again - so contacted the person who sent me the email asking why I was declined (given I thought I would be approved as i was sent an email) and she approved it.
So I'm assuming many of you may have also received the email but figured it didn't hurt to share it.

Thanks Brenda - I've been approved for this. Like many others, I'm already over-committed for October, but I'm in desperate need of "Ns" for spell-it-out challenges, so couldn't resist this one. Hers are generally fast and entertaining reads that I can knock over quickly.

Bec | 171 comments Sarah wrote: " Hers are generally fast and entertaining reads that I can knock over quickly.."

I've never read a book by Nicole Trope yet. I was declined for one I requested earlier this year so assume I would be declined for this one too - but you would recommend her work?

Sarah | 1543 comments Bec wrote: "I've never read a book by Nicole Trope yet. I was declined for one I requested earlier this year so assume I would be declined for this one too - but you would recommend her work?"

I quite enjoy her books for a lighter mystery-intrigue read. I've read three or four, and they all fall into similar territory of a female central character or characters dealing with some sort of past trauma while facing a crisis in the present. I'd call them domestic thrillers. While they're probably not in the top echelon of Australian crime fiction, they're quick, undemanding and entertaining reads, although there are often issues like domestic violence, loss of parental rights etc. involved. I was approved for this one within 24 hours and don't have an exemplary % on NetGalley at the moment, so it may be worth you having another go at requesting!

I thought this had already been mentioned here which is why I got it, but looks like I must have just stumbled across it early August. I realised after I got it I couldn't send it to kindle, so will have to read on phone. Haven't got to it yet (to be honest when I requested it I hadn't even read The Maid - I've read that now so ready for this, just need to finishe off some published earlier first).
