I need to see the exact version. If you go on Kaddish.com GR page there you can browse different versions. If you find the version that you read you can switch to that version:) Also, link it here, so I know which version it is.

The version you read must also be the version you put in GR.

If you can't find your version, then I need the ISBN of your version and I can add it to GR:)

Is this cover green or yellow?
And did I do the link correctly?

I put the book to tineye to extract the colors, and Tineye says it's 54.9% Barberry (Yellow). I just don't see how it could fit for our yellow cards, since we "only" have yellow 9 left and there is nothing with an N (title, author, character...); but maybe we can use it in the next round, when we have another yellow card? :) always good to have some yellow books that we can use, they are so rare :D

message 105: by Kristel (last edited Jan 29, 2020 12:46AM) (new)

Kristel | 586 comments Actually, we can use The Warden by Anthony Trollope for one of the WD4 and duplicate Yellow 8. It has an "E" character in it: Eleanor Harding:)

I'll add it to the colour post.

Anne, your linking is fine:)

Edit: Do we all agree it's yellow? I know Tineye says so, but it is a bit of a in-between😅. Should I ask the other captains?

message 106: by Franziska (new)

Franziska (chaoschild) | 136 comments Well, you can of course ask the other captains. Just to be sure.
For me it’s more Yellow than green, so I would agree with yellow.

Thanks for the WD4, I always forget these cards... so it works perfectly!

Asked the captains just to be sure.

The captains agreed that The Warden by Anthony Trollope is green. Unfortunately, we can't use it for a colour cover.

Anne (dagdvm) | 441 comments Rats! Oh well, I'm just going through my TBR pile, trying to categorize them. I would like to read this one. We had to read it in school (a VERY long time ago) and I hated it, but I think it might be very different as an adult.
Thanks for checking for me.

Yes, I agree! For the past two evenings I have been trying to find something to read, instead of actually reading.

Yeah, finding colour covers is quite hard. I usually try to google "X colour cover Goodreads" and look at the lists that come up:)

Heather Moore | 405 comments Y'all, I didn't think I would be this excited about a book challenge, but I am very excited!

message 118: by Lauri (new)

Lauri (otwlauri) | 935 comments I cannot wait to start! I have all the books I know I want to read in a shopping bag so that I won't cheat and start ahead of time. They are (in no particular order): The Mother-Daughter Book Club, The Eye of Jade, The Harmony Silk Factory, Eaters of the Dead, A Catered Christmas, The Elite & many many more.....

message 119: by Anne (new)

Anne (dagdvm) | 441 comments Do we have a 9Yellow yet? Because I think I have found one. Nemesis by Philip Roth. Nemesis by Philip Roth . Let me know if that is O.K. and I will buy it.

message 120: by Jeanette (new)

Jeanette Madsen (bugge) | 81 comments Great. It can be a Wild card 4😁

message 121: by Franziska (new)

Franziska (chaoschild) | 136 comments Okay, there won't be any dispute about the new yellows. :) good job!

Added it as one of the WD4:)

message 123: by Anne (new)

Anne (dagdvm) | 441 comments O.K. So I still am not sure what book I should start reading on Saturday. Is it any book that fits with hand 1? Or just any book and you captain-type people will fit them in where needed?

message 124: by Franziska (new)

Franziska (chaoschild) | 136 comments Anne, just start with whatever you want. Once you've finished your book and added it to the tracking spreadsheet, Kristel and I will look how to fit the books in. :)

message 125: by Jessamine (last edited Jan 30, 2020 09:34AM) (new)

Jessamine Lee (jessaminelee) | 322 comments I can read:
Wicked (A Wicked Trilogy, #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout - 4 Green -Char. LN David Faustin (It looks more like blue to me, but Tineye says Green)
Torn (A Wicked Trilogy, #2) by Jennifer L. Armentrout - 2 Blue

message 126: by Kristel (new)

Kristel | 586 comments For me Wicked (A Wicked Trilogy, #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout looks very blue. I don't think we can use it for green. If others in this thread disagree and think it's green then I'll ask the captains:)

message 127: by Jeanette (new)

Jeanette Madsen (bugge) | 81 comments I’m not sure. It looks very blue-greenish to me. Maybe it’s better to ask the adults 😉

message 128: by Lauri (new)

Lauri (otwlauri) | 935 comments And so.... What is everyone most excited to read first on Saturday??
I keep rearranging my books!! I think I have some OCD when it comes to books!
I'm thinking to lead off with The Mother-Daughter Book Club because it fulfills at least 3 different challenges, it looks like a fluffy read and it's mostly pink! Yep, I'm very eclectic!

message 129: by Anne (new)

Anne (dagdvm) | 441 comments I want to start with The Nickel Boys. I have been wanting to read it since it came out. I think it is going to be upsetting but then I can move on to something more cuddly.
But I reserve the right to change my mind!
Unfortunately I have to work on Saturday so I won't be able to sit down to read until the evening. 😣

message 130: by Franziska (new)

Franziska (chaoschild) | 136 comments I have a lot to do on Saturday, so I guess I will be able to start on Sunday. And then I will start with the second book of "My brilliant friend", because the third book of the saga will be the yellow one, which we will need :D

message 131: by Kristel (new)

Kristel | 586 comments I'm more of a mood reader, so right now I have no idea what I'll start with😅

message 132: by Heather (new)

Heather Moore | 405 comments I am going to read the last two books of the winternight series, then onto my blue 2 book. I was going read the blue book first, but I will finish the bear and the nightingale tonight, and I’m not ready to leave that world just yet.

message 133: by Kristel (new)

Kristel | 586 comments So, the verdict with Wicked (A Wicked Trilogy, #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout is that it's more blue than green, but there is not enough of any colour to use for a colour card.

message 134: by Kristel (new)

Kristel | 586 comments Su Ah, I'm going to add Torn (A Wicked Trilogy, #2) by Jennifer L. Armentrout for WD4 as Blue 2 :)

message 135: by Anne (new)

Anne (dagdvm) | 441 comments Wow! My very yellow Nemesis by Philip Roth has arrived at the door. I ordered it late Wednesday and it arrived today before breakfast. Thank you Barnes and Noble!

I am interested in what you think of it. It is on my list for this year.

message 137: by Anne (new)

Anne (dagdvm) | 441 comments I enjoyed The Underground Railroad. Have you read that? (Maybe "enjoyed" is not the right word. It was a positive reading experience.)

message 139: by LaurLa (new)

LaurLa | 1005 comments Hi all - sorry I've been MIA. I've been frantically trying to finish up January challenges!

Is this enough yellow for the Yellow 9 card? It's close but I fear not quite enough...
Nowhere Near Respectable (Lost Lords, #3) by Mary Jo Putney

I also have this one
Too Hot to Handle (Jackson Hole, #2) by Victoria Dahl

message 140: by Kristel (new)

Kristel | 586 comments The challenge has officially started! You can start reading:)

Actually, right now Yellow 9's are being read for😅

Nowhere Near Respectable (Lost Lords, #3) by Mary Jo Putney doesn't have enough yellow.

Also, Too Hot to Handle (Jackson Hole, #2) by Victoria Dahl looks quite orange to me.

LaurLa | 1005 comments Kristel wrote: "Actually, right now Yellow 9's are being read for😅"

The last update message didn't show that and I couldn't really tell from the spreadsheet which color cards were claimed. Sorry. I'll try to keep up better.

Well I'll dig a little more and hopefully be able to come up with something for the WD4s since yellow doesn't seem to be it for me.

message 143: by Kristel (last edited Feb 01, 2020 12:54PM) (new)

message 146: by Lauri (new)

Lauri (otwlauri) | 935 comments Thanks, Kristel! Well, gang, I'm having fun already! At long last, UNO start day has arrived. It's a rainy day here, so I opted to take the day completely off & just read. No laundry or cooking, no errands. I'm working on my first three books:

The Mother-Daughter Book Club by Heather Vogel Frederick The Peach Keeper by Sarah Addison Allen A Catered Christmas (A Mystery with Recipes, #3) by Isis Crawford

Tomorrow, on to more books! We're not into football, so I'll start my next batch:

The Harmony Silk Factory by Tash Aw Eaters of the Dead by Michael Crichton The Elite (The Selection, #2) by Kiera Cass

I ask you, does it get any better than this?

message 147: by Kristel (last edited Feb 02, 2020 01:24AM) (new)

Kristel | 586 comments I haven't had as big of a start to the challenge as you Lauri😅

Started Poolpaha (Half Life, #1) by Sally Green yesterday and hopefully will finish it today. I've had the entire trilogy in my home library for over a year now. I have a problem with buying books and then reading completely different books from my library. At this point, I have more unread books in my home then read ones and that's a problem😅
