It's French Fry Day!
Did anybody know that? My favorites are Crinkle Fries and the ones from Checkers which you can buy in the store now. McDonald's is giving out free fries today.

Holiday thread is here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Sounds like a great summer job, Princess. I'd love a job where I got paid to read, especially to read books of my choice. I hope you enjoy it and don't get too bored.
My daughter is coming for a weekend visit today! Can't wait to see her. :) G's birthday is this weekend. He is going to be a teenager! (gasp!)

Christine, that's okay. The booster will still be there waiting for you.

I hope you have better luck than me and my husband did. We both got sick and our arms seemed to hurt more. In all the previous shots we only had a little pain in the arm.

I had 1,2 or all 4 grandkids 26/31 days in July. The first weekend of July I kept my grandsons so my son and DIL could go on a weekend trip. The next week, I had the grandsons for 13 days because son and DIL went on vacation. The day I picked them up the youngest gs was sick and it only lasted 2 days. Then the oldest gs got sick and I ended up taking him to Dr--swimmer's ear. When they went home, 4 days later he ended up in the ER--mastoiditis-- and then admitted to the hospital for 3 days. The two granddaughters had Covid at the same time. So I ended up with the youngest grandson again for 10 days because when oldest grandson got out of the hospital my son and DIL caught Covid. During that 10 day stretch, I was house/dog sitting for my DIL's sister. After I finally got all KIDS home, and thought I was going to rest, relax, and enjoy my freedom again, I caught Covid. I'm feeling better, just have a serious case of the BLAHs and not really feeling myself. I kept the youngest gs today because the oldest gs had tubes put in his ears. Everyone, I hope, is finally on the mend.
That last 10 day stretch(last week of July) I didn't get hardly any reading done. I have a large stack of unfinished books that I am working my way through. I started them but either lost interest or didn't have time to finish them. I'm making progress and quickly getting them finished. Most of them I had read 50% or more before I laid them aside. LOL Those accomplishments are helping to improve my spirits. I'm tired of looking at them and ready for some FRESH NEW books.
I hope everyone is doing well. Hopefully I'm back to my normal routine : )

Kristie, I'm glad you had a fun summer with your grandson. To me, summer goes by fast, and winter is slow, slow, slow.
I don't have any grandkids, but I did have the best grandmother in the whole world. I don't know where I'd be without her. And I miss her every day.

Welcome back, Christine!

But speaking of Subs...We used to frequent Subway almost every week. Well that's a thing of the past now. The last time we went, what used to cost $12 for 2 sandwiches, now cost $22!!!! I couldn't believe it. Now my daughter and I make our own. Ridiculous!

JoJo, that sounds delicious. What kind of bread did you use? We might try this sandwich.

Hmmm. I was wondering what to have for dinner tonight and this just might be it!

My daughter is a Mexican Pizza addict. She was so hurt when they took it off the menu. We tried to duplicate it, and it was good. But like the saying goes, "Ain't nothing like the real thing."

Get a load of this Little Library! It's in Pittsburgh, so at least one person here has probably seen it before. I spotted it walking down the street during my time helping my son move into his apartment so he can take his Master's degree. It's a glass mosaic that was made by the art works place you can see behind it.

HAPPY SEPTEMBER EVERYONE!
