I really enjoy animals , poetry, Christian fiction, documentary film, and comic too!. One of my all time favorite author is Francine river. She such a amazing writer.
Anyway that me.

My name is Tori, I'm 22yo, and I'm excited to be part of this group :) yay!
About me: I'm a Baptist who loves Jesus and everything about Him. Also, I'm a Graphic Designer student, and I love music, reading, drawing, and writing (poetry. Most about God). I enjoy watching videos, movies, documentaries, tv shows, etc. I love kids and I used to be a teacher at the children's ministry at church, but I'm attending a new church and it's online for now :(
I just finished reading "The pilgrim's progress", and honestly, I haven't read many Christians books... I want to, tho.
I've read some C.S. Lewis books... and that's all lol I want to have some good recommendations here and also the challenges caught my attention.
Welcome, Tori! What sort of genres do you like? I'd be glad to recommend some books to get you started with Christian fiction.

Hi, Andrea!! Thank you!! I like Romance, Adventure, Fantasy, and Poetry.
Welcome, Taylor! So glad you've joined us. Have you read Lynette Eason's Danger Never Sleeps series yet? Those books are suspense, but there are some psychological aspects as well. I'm finishing up the series today, actually. It's one of her best.

Romance

Thank you so much!!

My favorite genre of Christian fiction is fantasy, Christian fantasy is by far my fave genre to read. Historical Christian fiction is also another favorite of mine.
In addition, I'm also an author, my first published work is Beneath the Willow Tree, a Christian fantasy short story.

I am thrilled to be here! I know it will be lovely to get to know you.
My name is a Esosa Daniel-Oniko and I am an author and a reader.
I spend hours looking for clean reads!
I thoroughly enjoy people.
Blessings!

Hello, Daria, and welcome!
For the Group Buddy and Book of the Month reading, a nomination thread goes up around the first of each month. Books that are at least six months old may be nominated, as long as they are not ones we've already read in the past three years (there are links to bookshelves included with the nomination thread). Each member may nominate one book per month. About halfway through the month, the nominations close and a voting poll opens. Anyone in the group is welcome to vote, even if you don't have time to read the book when it comes up.
If there are other books you'd like to read soon, then doing a buddy read is a good option. Anyone may join a buddy read or suggest a book for a buddy read. Here's the October buddy read thread: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Please let us know if you have further questions. I'm glad you're already exploring our threads. We have lots of great things to offer.

Are there others in this group who like fantasy and sci-fi?

Welcome, Sharon Rose. I'm so glad you've joined us. I recently read and enjoyed Shadow by Kara Swanson. I adore her debut book, The Girl Who Could See, the most. It is, by far, my favorite fantasy book. I don't read a ton in fantasy or sci-fi, but I dabble in the genre every now and then when I crave it.

I haven't read Shadow yet, but I remember enjoying The Girl Who Could See when it first came out. There are so many ways to use this genre and I love the variety.

My name is Mellie. I love reading Christian Fiction especially historical fiction, but I do enjoy fantasy and contemporary fiction as well. Stories with romance are very nice, but I also like books where this is not the focus.
I have been looking for a place where I could talk with other people about the Christian Fiction books they enjoy and learn about everyone' favorite authors.

my name is Naomi. Right now my husband, our son, and I live in a rural little mountain house that is run on propone and a generator. When we aren't working we are reading. We both love lots of different types of books. We favor C.S Lewis and George Mcdonald as of right now. I personally favor Og Mandino too.
I'm constantly looking to expand my knowledge on different authors and different books. If you could tell me your favorite book, I'd be delighted to check it out and read it if I haven't already.
I'm looking forward to hearing your responses ☺

Here are some favorites I have recently read:
Glimmer in the Darkness by Robin Patchen
Refuge on Crescent Hill by Melanie Dobson
A Stranger's Game by Colleen Coble
Happily Ever After by Susan May Warren
Tea Shop Folly by Carrie Fancett Pagels
The Winter Rose by Melanie Dobson
Hope this gives you a little something to start with. You can also look through our many challenges and get ideas from them.

I'm Lynne Modranski. I love to read, and usually I read exclusively Christian books. I try to balance my non-fiction with a little fiction each month. I saw your challenges, I'm looking forward to participating in the next one!
I'm also an author. I usually write non-fiction, but I'm working on my first novel, so maybe when it gets closer to publication date I'll share a bit about it.
I look forward to getting to know you all!

My name is Mary; I am a teacher at a private catholic school for the next month. Then I am switching over to working in a youth group home. I will start by working overnights. I am also going to school to become a teacher (long story why I am teaching without a degree). I am looking forward to the time I have to read/listen to audiobooks while crocheting and doing homework. I am not looking forward to working awake overnights, but you have to do what you have to do. My favorite Christian author is Melanie Dickerson. She is fantastic, and I look forward to reading more of her books. I took a bit of a break from her, but I plan on catching up. Slowly (ok, not that slowly. More like quickly) for my classroom library. I might go into being a librarian after I get my degree because I love books so much.
I have an Instagram and email for a group I created called cleanreaviews007. It is books I read and then reviews on if they are clean or not, along with how well I liked the book. If you have any ideas on how to grow it, let me know.

One way to find friends on Goodreads is to begin getting to know people in various discussions.
I see you like Melanie Dickerson's books. Do you enjoy other fantasy books too?
I read a lot of historical and contemporary books, but I've enjoyed a few of Mrs. Dickerson's books as well. Recently, I read Nicole Deese's newest contemporary book, All That It Takes, and that one made me weep buckets! So good! Very timely too, with some current events going on in America right now.

I have read a lot of Dickerson's books, and since I am going to school to be a teacher, I look forward to having a classroom library. I reached out to Dickerson about getting copies of her book for my classroom, and I bought the entire series that doesn't have as intense themes. Newer books I have not read but look forward to doing that once I start my new job next month. I will be working overnights, so I will have plenty of time to read/listen to audiobooks.
I have not read any books from Nicole Deese. I will look into her books. One of my favorite authors is also Karen Kingsbury. Her books make me cry so much.
I tend to read a wide variety of books. Suppose you can tell from my bookshelf. I mainly read fairy tale retellings but also read contemporary and historical. Period books are also my favorite, depending on how they are written. I love Julianne Donaldson's books. Even though she only has two books out and a short story to go with them, I find them extraordinary.
Overall I read a wide variety of books and love reading in general. I'm not too fond of horror movies or books. Suspense/thriller I can handle at times, depending on how intense it is. I have a compassionate spirit and try not to push boundaries.

It's so wonderful that you know your limits and respect them. Good for you!
It sounds like you have read quite a wide variety of stories. If you like Karen Kingsbury, you might like Nicole Deese too. Raw, realistic, and totally emotional. I've read and enjoyed many Kingsbury books as well. :)

I will definitely look into her books. Thanks for the recommendation!
