Hello! My name is Joy and with a name like 'Christian Fiction Devourers,' how could I not join you all? We speak the same language! I 'devoured' my first Christian novel, Love Comes Softly by Janette Oke in 1979 (...yes, I just admitted to being, ahem, 'mature.') Since that time, I have 'feasted' on Francine Rivers, Kristen Heitzmann, Catherine Palmer, Colleen Coble, Lisa Wingate, Karen Kingsbury...just to name a few.I now find myself with many hats to wear. I am a mother of 4 grown children and a grandmother of 3 adorable granddaughters. My third granddaughter was just born on leap day! I must admit that I loved active motherhood and was quite sad when my kiddos started leaving home in 2006. For therapy, I started writing what I most love: Christian fiction. Over time, a long story unfolded and just last year, a strange thing happened: I published it. You can read about "To Call My Own" in the author section, if you'd like.
I am also a part-time lab technician, church volunteer for children, and new Mommy to a puppy (who is slowly driving me insane!) Honestly, I thought I would have more time to read at this time in life, but most days are hopping.
A big juicy novel with a cup of tea is by far, my ‘happy place.’ Here’s to devouring some great stories with you! A friend just recommended Irene Hannon to me☺ .
Welcome Joy! I too began my Christian Fiction journey with Janette Oke in 1979. You will find so many wonderful books here that you will have the problem of "too many books, too little time!"
Thank you, Loraine! It's so nice to meet someone who has my same perspective. And too many books-what a wonderful problem to have!
Hey Everyone,I am so happy I found this group. My name is Lyvita and I am a creative journaler, podcaster, author and blogger who Loves reading, writing and hanging out with Jesus. Looking forward to hearing about some good books to read and hoping to share a few. My goal for this year is to read a minimum of 10 pages a day.
Could use help finding the title of a Christian fiction book I read along time ago. It popped into my head but can’t find it.It starts out with a newly married couple who are struggling financially. She gets pregnant and her husband isn’t much help. He ends up divorcing her and wants to have visitation rights. When he takes their daughter she ends up accidentally dying. She ends up meeting someone new and by the end of the story she has twin babies.
Any clue!

Jessah, this isn't the right place to recommend books. Try our "Finish a book? Share your thoughts" thread, found here:

Hi Everyone! My name is Gloria and I just joined. I’m excited to be a part of this group and see all your recommendations. It’s becoming incredibly difficult to find clean reads nowadays so this group seemed like the perfect fit. 😊

Welcome, Gloria! I'm with you, friend. Clean reads are really hard to find, sometimes even within the Christian book market. Have you tried Kim Vogel Sawyer's or Carrie Turansky's books yet? I've been really pleased with all the books I've read by each of those ladies. Happy reading!

Welcome, Henrieke! It's always fun to have international friends in the group. Feel free to jump in on some reading challenges or conversations as you feel more comfortable. Let us know if you have any questions. What sort of nonfiction do you like? I've enjoyed memoirs, biographies, and histories (WWII in particular with that last sub-genre).

Welcome Gloria and Henrieke! Know you will both find lots of wonderful clean reads here and make lots of friends. Henrieke - I have a close friend I have know since Kindergarten when she first came to the states from the Netherlands. She never has completely lost her accent.
Welcome, Gloria and Henrieke! Gloria, I've found Kindle Unlimited to be a great tool for finding clean books because you can't always tell from the description but can simply return anything that you don't care for.
Joseph, welcome! We have a thread for sharing about yourself and your books, found here: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
I'm a brand-new GoodReads author, so I'm just feeling my way around the site. Since I'm a follower of Jesus, this seemed like a good place to start connecting with people. So...hello, everyone. It's nice to be here.
