PattyMacDotComma | 920 comments I have just finished The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie by Alan Bradley and adore his 11-year-old experimental poisoner/investigator, Flavia de Luce. This is the first of what seems to be a terrific mystery series - can't wait to find the rest!

working on The Valancourt Book of Victorian Christmas Ghost Stories: Volume Four , Snuggly Tales of Hashish and Opium and just about to start Portrait of a Murderer: A Christmas Crime Story from 1933.

As 2021 begins, I'll be beginning my way through the the séptimo circulo list with The Beast Must Die by Nicholas Blake.

I joined it early on, but I'm just a lurker. I've been a huge Valancourt fan for years.

Araych | 676 comments Everybody Kills Somebody Sometime Everybody Kills Somebody Sometime (Rat Pack Mysteries, #1) by Robert J. Randisi by Robert Randisi

Las Vegas, 1960. Frank, Dino, Sammy and the rest of the gang are in town to shoot "Oceans 11". Dino is getting threatening letters and Eddie Gianelli, a pit boss at the Sands is asked to look into the situation. Well, things don't go smoothly and bodies start to pile up. This is a fun, lightweight mystery that I thoroughly enjoyed and it's the first in a series. 4 stars.
