Started Truly Devious last night, and so far it is a very good YA mystery.

I just finished reading and listening to The Unwilling
Just a smidge away from being five stars. Here’s a link to my review:

I've just finished Amy Stewart's delightful Miss Kopp Just Won't Quit, the third in this wonderful historical fiction mystery series, based on a real lady cop. New Jersey in 1916. I'm sure glad she won't quit!

I finally had time last night to start The Decagon House Murders. So far so good but I'm only on p. 29.
Crazy Love
by Steve BrewerBubba Mabry #6, OK to read as a stand-alone. Bubba stumbles and bumbles his way to solving another murder. Light, entertaining, easy to read mystery but I spent half the book urging Bubba to not act like a fool. 2 stars.
These aren't "mysteries" exactly, but many mystery fans will like these: I finished:
Books of Blood: Volume Three by Clive Barker
Rating: 4 stars
Review: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
which is part of the larger collection:
Books of Blood: Volumes One to Three by Clive Barker
Rating: 5 stars

and I started reading:
Books of Blood: Volume IV AKA The Inhuman Condition by Clive Barker
which is part of the larger collection:
Books of Blood, Volumes 4-6 by Clive Barker
Highly recommended for fans of horror or dark fiction. NOTE: graphically violent in just about every way you can imagine, and many ways that you probably can't.
Richard Russo's characters always seem like people I'd recognise. In Chances Are, three guys and the girl they all (secretly?) adored were in college together during the draft for Vietnam. The guys are now 66, having a reunion, but where's Jacy?

I just finished Finlay Donovan is Killing It
Such a fun read. Here’s a link to my review:

Take It Back
by Kia AbdullahWhen four Muslim teens are accused of raping a disabled white girl, a Muslim lawyer/rape victim advocate is caught in the crossfire.
Good story. 3.5 stars

The Good German
by Joseph KanonReporter goes to Berlin immediately after the end of WW II to cover the Potsdam Conference and also to find his German ex-lover. In the course of these he stumbles into murder and espionage. Very atmospheric work showing the horrors of the War and it's aftermath and also the hypocrisy of our occupation of Germany. Remember all those German scientists who built our space program? Parts of the love story drag a bit but overall I give the book a solid recommendation. 4 stars.

Excellent book. The problem with that one is that you can really only read it once.

I've read two others of his stories and enjoyed very much.
Jane Harper's Tasmanian coast in The Survivors is just as compelling as her outback in The Dry and The Lost Man. Evelyn Bay is such a small town that it's almost a locked room mystery. Loved it!

FinishedThe Devil and the Dark Water by Stuart Turton. Entertaining mystery with cliched characters. Rating - 3/5
My Review https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

by Miriam FeldmanArtist Miriam Feldman writes about the heartbreak and trials of raising a promising son who develops schizophrenia....and the effect on the entire family.
4 stars

I'm reading The Twisted Ones and I'm about half way through. I really appreciate the horror and humor mingled up together. I need more books like this in my life
I have two books on the go and will finish those before I start any others as we wind down 2020. If I finish early enough I may try another.. Anyway, here they are -1. The Crimson in the Purple by Holly Roth, enjoying very much, kind of Dynasty meets noir
2. The Irishman (Movie Tie-In): Frank Sheeran and Closing the Case on Jimmy Hoffa by Charles Brandt (off to a slow start with this one)
I am reading Paul Doiron's One Last Lie in his series about Mike Bowditch - game warden extraordinaire. Very well constructed story.
I am torturing myself with a book called The Firelight Girls. I am hating every minute of this book. It was for my RL book group. I told the woman who selected it I could not get through the first 50 pages. She challenged me to finish the book because she loved it. She said if I did not like it by the end she would let me have her next book pick. She is loosing.
