Araych | 677 comments Luck be a Lady, Don't Die Luck Be a Lady, Don't Die (Rat Pack Mysteries, #2) by Robert J. Randisi by Robert Randisi

Rat Pack Mystery #2, OK to read as stand-alone. Las Vegas, 1960. Start spreading the word, Frank Sinatra, Dino, Sammy and the rest of the Hollywood Rat Pack are in Las Vegas for the premier of "Ocean's Eleven". Sinatra has divorced Ava Gardner, is engaged to Juliet Prowse and asks his pal Eddie Gianelli, who works at the Sands as a pit boss, to help him with a little problem with a missing girl friend. Then the bodies start to pile up. Easy, breezy, very entertaining mystery with lots of name-dropping and Vegas history. I really liked it, 4 stars.

Irene Karaisaia Hello everyone!

I'm new in this group! I would be glad to share with you my love for crime novels!
The last one I finished was In Bitter Chill (DC Connie Childs, #1) by Sarah Ward "In Bitter Chill" by Sarah Ward.
I would probably give it a 2/5 stars.
I might start reading book no.2 A Deadly Thaw (DC Childs mystery) by Sarah Ward (author) "A Deadly Thaw".
Has anyone read the second one?

In my case, I think it's because I don't turn on my tv until evening and I've also been known to stay up around the clock to finish a book I particularly like.

There are bad things happening in Promise Falls, New York, including a woman's murder.

There's an interesting array of characters in this complex story, which is the beginning of a trilogy.

Xavier Hugonet (xavierhugonet) | 45 comments Somebody’s Daughter, seventh book in the Natalie Ward series by Carol Wyer.
This book rises the series in quality, with attention given to a larger ensemble cast à la Ed McBain. The author also made a lot of field research on the main theme of the book, and it shows. Highly recommended.
