I have to keep reminding myself to focus on the books I have planned to read in December.

Go to the folder, "Challenges: Year Long Main. There are two starred threads at the top of the folder. One is the challenge with the tasks. The second one is the questions. Yes, you certainly may still answer the questions.

Next go to the twisted trivia challenge page. Each question has a task for yay and one for nay. You do whichever task goes with your response from the test. All the details about the challenge and how to keep track, request badges, etc are also in this thread.

I have been tracking tasks for three past yearly challenges now and I am still not finished with any of them. I decided that I am not going to do it for MM challenge though (I think). I am going to compare the books I had planned and never read and see if they fit any of the Trivia tasks (I already know that some do.) It is not really the tasks, but the book titles that I hate to loose track of. I may keep my spread sheet but I am pretty well done posting. For the second time this year, I have no books showing as "currently reading". I will pick up my monthly challenge book tonight and I am still waiting for the group read book. I have last month's group read book on hand to start. I was re-listening to an audio book last night because I did not want to let it go yet. I hate being between challenges and I do not feel like gophering yet. I told my co-worker that I need to find a hermit shack and go hide out for about a month.

Gotcha!

I know what you mean about losing books. I decided to wrap up the MM challenge in November since I knew i wouldn't finish badge 4. So I tidied up my personal thread and now some of the books that I didn't get to and deleted will fit for the 2020 yearly challenge. Will not do that again!

The Summer Tree - High fanatasy
The Wandering Fire - 2nd in a series
The Darkest Road - Mountains on the cover (from the omnibus edition.)

You may count it as 3 separate books as long as the individual component meets the minimum page limit. Cover tasks need to be based on the actual edition you read. In this case, there are mountains on the cover of the omnibus.

You may ignore the articles. "Queen" would be the same as "The Queen".

No - two different tasks. Some of the tasks are so similar that I had to try and get creative.

Unless it's specified as the root, it would be the exact word. Plurals are allowed.

I am also still reading for 2019 MM challenge and want to complete at least the 3rd Badge requirements. What is 2020 Leftover Stew Challenge? Where do I find the link for this? Thanks.

I'm really tired right now. Been quilting all day, and I'm not sure I follow you.
I have "April as title or setting" for two different cards - Card 1 and Card 21. Is that what you mean when you say double task?
If so, you will need to read a different book for each time the task is listed. That means, I have to find two books with "April" in the title or set during the month of April.
I tried really hard to avoid duplications, but I've discovered a few times that I missed them.

The Leftover Stew challenge is a personal challenge so there are no links. I hate not finishing a challenge but sometimes it's not realistic. Whatever I don't finish during the allotted time for the annual challenge, I try to finish the next year. I roll the tasks I didn't complete onto a separate spreadsheet and attempt to complete them without a formal challenge. My 2020 Leftover Stew Challenge are the books I didn't finish for the 2019 Movie Mania Challenge.
Here, when you cook a big meal and there is food not eaten, it goes into the fridge to eat another day. We call them leftovers. I'm not sure if you have the same terminology in India. My mother used to make a stew and add those leftovers into the pot. That's where I got the idea.
You can do your own Leftover Stew challenge if you like. You just cross the books off your list. There is no place to report them, nor do you get badges for them. It's just kind of fun to be able to complete a goal.

I've adopted Janice's Leftover Stew Challenge. I just keep a list in my personal thread.
I once asked my step-mother "What's for dinner?" Her response was "Mustgos". What are "Mustgos?" I queried. She said:
Everything in the refrigerator MUST GO!

Also interesting that I have some books as a possibility for several books, while they fitted nowhere last year. Or the other way around.

So depressing! I used to have an amazing local library in PA. Not so impressed by the local branches here.

I feel your pain on the April one.

You must have the same tasks as I do Cherie. I have two April tasks and two Civil War tasks. I discovered the duplicate Civil War tasks this morning when I was looking at my Audible wishlist. There was a great one - Daughter of a Daughter of a Queen about a woman who fought as a Buffalo soldier in the Civil War. I thought, "How did I miss that?" When I popped back to the main book page, I saw that I had already shelved it as Twisted Trivia Possibilities, yet I didn't have it marked for Card 19 task. When I searched the spreadsheet, there it was under the Card 2 task. ACK!!
I don't know what happened. I went over and over the tasks looking for duplicates. I have three tasks involving the word "King".
Long answer to your question. If you have 2 identical tasks, you have to read 2 different books.

I have civil war twice too. And set in Scotland / written by Scottish author. And I have a few that are partly similar, something with Irish author and set in Italy. I don't mind though, I have multiple options for all those tasks :)

I agree. 360 is fairly insane really. I don't know how you do this, Janice, but I appreciate it a ton. Makes for a very enjoyable year (and a month of very obsessive and enjoyable gophering while we wait!!!)

LOL! My plan is to complete the first 3 badges. I doubt I'll be able to do 4, so I'm gophering to fill up those 3 badges.

Your word is law, so I will do as you say. Maybe we can trade book titles. I found plenty! (Wow, if you let me switch the first American Civil War tasks, I was even willing to read Anna Karina or Slaughterhouse-Five).
My plan at this moment, is to do as you are planning. I know that I can read that many books, but then, it comes down to which 5 cards I want to finish before I decide on the task I have to read for badges 1 and 2.
I don't know why I have to have a title poked into every task, but for some reason - I am driven to have something for each one on my spread sheet. I only finished up to Card 8, so far and I am amazed at the titles I have been carrying around for so long.
The wine task almost had me wanting to go buy a bottle on my way home before I found a couple of titles I am willing to read. (I think Almeta had one I am going to add to my list.)

That's what I'm trying to do. I'm glad someone else has the same idea.
Cherie wrote: "...for some reason - I am driven to have something for each one on my spread sheet...."
At least one for each task. Sometimes two or three :)

I replaced too many of them last year and now, they don’t fit anything. That is why I have to decide which cards I might want to finish for badge 3.
I have finally learned not to add all of the titles to my TBR list too. I used to do that for the titles I had gophered. I will choose a title that is already on my TBR list first and then check to see if I own it. I have actually started eliminating books from my TBR list while I am gophering. Some of them really make me wonder what I was thinking! 😮

LOL! You and me both. I took the week off because I need a break from everything. I need to do some shopping, instead I sit here gophering.
That wine task was harder than I realized. I had visions of covers with wine glasses on them race through my head when I wrote the task so I didn't think it was an issue. Until I started gophering. Sheesh!
