I'm planning to read the following that would count for the mini-challenge:

Rose Under Fire which should count 1/3 in Find the Missing Elf

The Color Purple Yellow in Find More Paint

I have a few others on my 2014-december-tbr shelf if anyone wants me to chip in on the Fix the Chimney challenge or anything else :)

Sandy - oh my god I'm so glad you have that 800 page book because I was really annoyed with myself because I had finished a 1000 page book the day before the quest was posted. I was so close to being able to use it, but we're covered!

Find More Paint (cover colors) - orange, purple, and pink needed

Check the List (good, bad characters or good/bad in the title) - 3 more needed

Fix Santa's Sleigh - 2 new harnesses (100-125 page books)

Also when you finish a book and post it in the read post if you could make a note if it's a book for the quests then that would be great!

Not a race. The only advantage to getting things done earlier is getting the points earlier.

Oohhh let me know how that book is! It's on my To-Read shelf. I love Eric Larson! His The Devil in the White City: Murder, Magic, and Madness at the Fair that Changed America was so good!

I have yet to read Devil in the White City -- I own it but my sister borrowed it months ago and should be returning it to me by Christmas break. drives me nuts when I loan out books I have yet to read myself lol.

I love WWII historical fiction, but this wasn't my favorite. I really liked the ending though and it surprised me! I wasn't anticipating the twist at the end.

GREAT JOB EVERYONE!!!! I figured it would be a lot harder to do than this....nice job to everyone for stepping up! I was looking over my own reading to see if I could even attempt to do the individual quest, but think I'm going to pass!

Now that I come to think of it, I'm not sure would count for the directional category. any thoughts? or if you want to check your books for something that would fit Tara, you could.

I'm sure I could find something else (or someone else could), but IN is a word on the list so it would work.

Just let the group know what you decide so if someone else has a book to replace it if you decide that one isn't going to work (or you won't be able to read by end of January) then someone else can look for something to replace it!

My goal for the coming year is to have read every book I own at least once -- I think I've read about half of them so far. I have this habit of going to the library or buying new books and just never reading them lol

I wish I could read everything I have! I have a bad habit of downloading free or super cheap books because I may read one day. I tell myself i will only use existing books I have for challenges and not buy new ones and I do pretty good!

But I found this new thing called a LIBRARY that has these books that I can borrow! Shock! I only have 1 library to pick from for now. I am working on getting another one soon!!

I can get a card for every city in my county in TX

I use my library card, too. I am reading 4 books from the library and have a couple of popular ones on hold.

I have my hardcover books logged too. I went to a library book sale and brought 32 books, a dollar each. I got the competed series of




3 bucks... seriously

That's a series I haven't tried to tackle yet. I've heard it's had to get past the Swedish names but once you do it's easier to follow.
