Erin wrote: "I just finished my 901+ page book this morning!"SWEET!!! Just down to one more that Ashley is going to read Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows for and we'll be set!!!!
Awesome team work everyone!
I wanted to confirm we are 100% complete on the Quest to Save Christmas challenge, right? I wasn't sure where that was being tracked, but I seem to remember Erin stating at one point we were done or would be done. Anything more needed there?

That means everything else we read is "icing on the cake" to beat the *darkness*.

Looks that way!!! Awesome job!
@Tara Jo - We are most definitely done with the Christmas Quest. I think we finished right before the new year. And I was tracking it in the team spreadsheet.
Erin wrote: "@Tara Jo - We are most definitely done with the Christmas Quest. I think we finished right before the new year. And I was tracking it in the team spreadsheet."Awesome! Thought it was, but wanted to make sure we weren't missing anything and still had 2 weeks to finish it! I'm so limited in viewing the spreadsheet because my work laptop blocks Google Docs and my tablet is a bit limited in what it displays so good to know we're done!
For the Light vs. Dark, when we complete that is there anything special that needs to be done? I've got the one thread going on with all books listed (message is on page 11 somewhere!) so next Monday do we need to do anything with it, or do you know?

Well the spreadsheet also has a page that is tracking our books for that so I don't think we do anything else
Ahhhhh okay well good then! So the thread I've been keeping up is just an easy visual we can all see! Awesome!
I got thrown off-track by the sudden arrival of the final two Croak books, but I fully intend to pounce on Deathly Hallows tonight!
Ashley wrote: "I got thrown off-track by the sudden arrival of the final two Croak books, but I fully intend to pounce on Deathly Hallows tonight!"I've heard those books are pretty good...haven't tried them yet. Hope you have a long 3-day holiday weekend to enjoy some good reading!
Hey team...just updated the list in message 549 with the latest....check your books to see if they are all there..this should match the spreadsheet as well when it's current! Make sure you get all books read in ASAP through Jan 18 so they can be counted! You guys rock!

Is there a cut off time?
I'll post the question in the Q&A thread to confirm if it's read by the 18th and we have a day or two to report or only whatever is claimed by the 18th. Also to confirm the time Thanks!
Ashley is planning on finishing Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows this weekend so we should be good
Answer from Mods on deadline for Light vs. Dark Books:message 193: by Karen, Fiction Aficianado (new) 18 minutes ago
Yes that's correct. As a team member you just need to post them by the end of the 18th in your timezone. We have given the captains a countdown on when the spreadsheets need to be updated and then we can announce the winners (it will take a few days)
So make sure to have your last few books reported by end of day tomorrow (Monday 18th) in whatever your time zone is! Good luck to everyone to squeeze in those last few books!
I am going over to post 2 more books that I finished this weekend. Not sure I will get anymore done before tomorrow.
Great....and I just sent a PM to Ashley to confirm she's on target to finish and report as complete by EOD tomorrow for our last book in order for any to count!
Monica wrote: "Is it Monday or the 18th Today is the 18th. Monday is the 19th"OH crap! It's the 18th, so today! Sorry for any confusion...in my head this whole time I've been thinking the 18th was Monday! Crap! Hope that doesn't throw Ashley off!
Don't worry I was thinking the same thing until I went and entered my books and realized that today was the 18th.
Monica wrote: "Is it Monday or the 18th Today is the 18th. Monday is the 19th"It has to be completed and posted by EOD 1/18/15, in you respective time zone.

Yeah...so sorry...I messaged Ashley to confirm she's still good to finish and corrected it to be TODAY not Monday.
So close guys! Only a 9 point difference showing right now if you get your last qualifying book in :)
I got one posted just now and Ashley said she'll be finishing her book for our last category!! LET'S DO IT TEAM!!!
Ashley posted her book this morning along with another book that were finished on the 16th and 18th....hopefully they can still be counted as we didn't know until yesterday they had to be POSTED by EOD as she may not have been online (or my info may have messed her up). Fingers crossed!
I am planning to read Pretty Little Liars and post in the buddy read thread. I have been trying to start this book since Jan. 7. I am hopefully starting it tonight. I hope if any of you have read it and are willing to post so I can earn us some points. I will also be participating in the one over at AMMP.
Absolutely! Hope on in there and we'll chat it up with you! Going to be reading #2 in mid-Feb so maybe you can join in then too!
Did y'all see the results of the Light Vs. Dark??? LIGHT BEAT DARK!

Kelly wrote: "I think it's almost better when it's close since the other team could almost taste victory :)"Absolutely!!!! So close....but not close enough! I haven't seen how the other teams did, but I know we pulled out a lot of books in the last week, so great job, team! And special thanks to those of you who knocked out those beasts of books (on top of reading other books too!) Amazing!!
I did see that Light beat Dark. All the light teams did fantastic. Glad I was able to get some last minute reading in too.

From Wiki
Australia Day is the official national day of Australia. Celebrated annually on 26 January, it marks the anniversary of the 1788 arrival of the First Fleet of British Ships at Port Jackson, New South Wales, and raising of the Flag of Great Britain at that site by Governor Arthur Phillip. In contemporary Australia, celebrations reflect the diverse society and landscape of the nation, and are marked by community and family events, reflections on Australian history, official community awards, and citizenship ceremonies welcoming new immigrants into the Australian community

See how many items you can find!
The items need to form part of the book title, author name, character name, or be an image on the cover, or occur somewhere in the story of the book you are reading.
Your team will get 5 points for each item found (one item per book), and if more than 75% of your team members find an item, you will get a bonus 30 points!
Note:Individuals can only find each item once, but multiple people on a team can find the same item. So if two people on the team read a book with a dog on the cover, both would claim 5 points, but that same person couldn't then claim "dog" again
