Team Sloth

What was it that bugged you about the book?"
The characters were flat for me, the initial world building was new and unique, but that was painted across everything. I had really high hopes. From the discussion it looks like it’s one of those love or hate books :)

I don't have any bingos on my TBR physical shelves, unfortunately. However, I have a butt ton of blue covers so I'm going to be aiming for those, since there is a prize for getting points related to our team sin.

I might just have to take a look at the library...hmm...might do that now...

Thanks!"
Both blue!
And Brent Weeks is a fab writer! Might read that one as well.

Anything Sloth related would be great :-)

The last two are parts of series. All the Lunar Chronicles books are blue covers, so if I have time I might just re-read the first four before reading the epilogue book I haven't read yet.

The Black Prism is great! Thought I’d do a reread of the series since the new book is out later this month...finally!

Oh, I got Pachinko for my birthday (a real paper book!)...I’ll need to finally read it :)
Also need to remember to eventually add my paper books to GRs.

I... am once again being difficult on the cover colours, sorry haha. If you have a physical edition and can confirm that they look bluer in real life than on the screen, I'm all for remedying my opinion!
The only ones that are blue enough on that list (for me) are:
Gemina
Cold Mountain
Stars Above
The others are either not >50% (Ink and Bone, A Crown of Swords, Pachinko) or don't have enough of a blue tinge.
Thunderstruck is the one I'm not sure about. It looks like it could be a dark and slightly washed-out blue but the screen makes it hard to tell.

I'm a little bit frustrated by cover colors this go around. They're worth so many points and there's no objective measure of what a cover color is, like there used to be with TinEye. All of these look blue to me IRL. Even if TinEye sometimes got it wrong, at least there was some objective way of identifying the covers.
Sorry for the rant. I'll leave it to you and the other captain to decide what color they are.

Ah, no, sorry. We use the edition you've actually read. While it's completely up to you whether or not you want to go read the bits that have been edited out (I assume, it's partially the massive tangents and descriptions), we can't swap out editions/books.

It only becomes difficult when covers have variations of a colour that are hard to define (shades of aqua/teal/turquoise for example) or when there is a lot of other stuff happening on the cover as well, especially when those other things are in a colour that easily distracts from the one you want.
That being said, I'll give you Ink and Bone as well as it's more of a dark blue than black as I initially thought (work computer and home computer show colours sliiightly differently). But I've seen the Tom Hanks book IRL and it is more of a greenish turquoise to me than blue, sorry :-/

But a categorical NO to Panchiko / Spinning Silver / Thunderstruck (they all look grey to me) and Tom Hanks (green).

I couldn't decide whether the Tom Hanks was blue or green. Thunderstruck looks pretty blue to me irl... I can try to post a picture later, but I'm also ok with it if you guys don't want to count it.

Tricky one!
I'd be on the fence, but the overall cover is blue, and I think it falls along the lines of Joy's A Crown of Swords, which Melinda approved as more than 50%, so I think we can say yes to this one as well.

I'm going to read that one soon. I wish it had dark fantasy so it could be a bingo but it doesn't. Can I go find like 80 random people to add it? KIDDING!!

How do people not have that tagged as Dark Fantasy?? D-:

Around that time in the series, the books are still quite decent, so if you haven't read the series, go for it! The first ones go down really nice and easy.
