Will they all meet the green test? Rabbit Hill is MPG children's - will it still count?

Now on to Carmen the Bootyshaker

Couldn't find anything on Plethora and all this work looking through shelves is very tiring for a sloth so I'm going to try again tomorrow. Time to finish reading now.

As for Rabbit Hill, if it's not 1st page YA it does not count + you need to check whether it meets word count requirement.
No, Tineye has been banned. You go by what your eyes tell you. Most covers should be obvious, if they aren't, don't use them.
Nameless Witch isn't green enough, sorry!
And I'm a little iffy on the Good Lucky Charm - I'm not sure it's over 50% green.

Jenny... why did you post books in the Favourite Book Recommendations thread?
You do realise it was just a gathering place for all the recommendations people gave when they signed up, right? :-p
Also, your post in the Bad Books Recommendactions... could you please add the reasons as to why they're your recommendations for that thread? In addition, it's only 3 unless the third is one of those hilariously terrible reads like Perfect Formation.

Oh, I think it was Karen who told me I should read the Orphan Master's Son because apparently it's really good. Good to see it in your top 5 as well!
And yes, Shakespeare is awesome :-))

Emma is my favourite Austen, closely followed by P&P, though come to think of it, all Austen books are favourites.. with the exception of Mansfield Park, which I like, but have some issues with nonetheless.

I thought we were supposed to post books in the favourites thread too. I can delete my post if you want, just let me know.
I'll go update the bad books thread.

According to the rules children's books must be over 25000 words.

HOOORAAAYY!!!
I am working on my doorstopper Rivals.
While it's over 700 pages, it's total and utterly enjoyable TRASH, so I'm practically racing through it. :)
I read it more than 13 years ago (OHMYGOSH!) and still enjoy it immensely.
Jilly Cooper is unbeatable when it comes to #GreatTrashReading. The guiltypleasure tag is very well deserved.
Haha, sometimes trash is just what we need!! ;-)
I've never heard of Jilly Cooper but it does sound like it's a lot of trash haha after reading the synopsis of the first book in that series. And the cover, omg, seriously?? :-p

Other teams, yes.

E., her books are THE BIGGEST TRASH EVER in the best and worst ways. The best of them are from the 80s, politically incorrect, chauvinistic, full of make-ups and break-ups, millions of characters, goodies and badies, horse-racing & bonking and yet they are fascinating... for me at least.

@Melindnam: I've only read P&P and S&S so my Austen knowledge is really shaky. I loved P&P but thought S&S was pretty meh to me, maybe because I don't have sisters. I have Emma on my TBR so maybe I'll check it out this challenge.
I'm always open for those kinds of recommendations! But only fiction please, I'm not much of a non-fiction reader. Thanks :-)
On another note, I had a kindle freebie lying around with a blue cover so I'm going to sneak read that at work. Not sure if I'll finish this week since I won't be at work all that much, if not, it'll be for next week.

My two faves:
I think one of the staples of translated Korean fiction that I always recommend is Please Look After Mom by Kyung-Sook Shin. It's a really great study in family dynamics, following a husband, son, and daughter after the mom of the family goes missing at a Seoul train station. Definitely a tear-jerker... don't say I didn't warn you.
My more oddball recommendation is The Vegetarian by Han Kang. I can only describe it as "feminist horror", but it's a really interesting commentary on the place of women in Korean society.

Hehehe ;-)"
I remembered to sticky the shelf this time and put a number first so it would be at the top so I'd get to spare you reminding me every other book ;)

I've already heard of Please Look After Mom and that it was good. It sounds like something I'd like!
I've been warned off of The Vegetarian however haha. Apparently because it is very, very bizarre ;-)

Not getting as much reading this vacation as usual, but I think I’ll pull off my required amount :)
@Joy, also a Russian Lit fan...
but not a fan of The Vegetarian...nope...apparently not my cuppa
