Buddy Read Requests
I'll do the Codex Alera series too. I was going to read a different fantasy series for this but I'll read Codex instead. I already own one of those too.

Michelle wrote: "Mods, should requests for a series read go elsewhere? We were looking to start a series read for Jim Butcher's Codex Alera."It's fine to ask here Michelle. I just missed your first request. I'll set it up later tonight :).
Hilary wrote: "I am new at this. Do we need to request that a thread be set up?"Usually a thread is set up as soon as we see that you have people to read it with and a start date. I'm just a little behind on other things this evening. I'll have a thread set up for you soon :).

?I think I'll be able to read Halo by the start of January, as I'm fist in line for that book, but could be because it was just lend.
Ok, It is time for me to start Eragon. I've wanted to read that series for a long time. Same as Seraphina

I'll create the thread in the morning :).
Sadie wrote: "I don't have anything scheduled for December/January, so is anyone interested in these titles?"I'm trying to get A Modern Witch for December BOM. Otherwise I may burn my January Pirate Treasure BOM on it :) I haven't decided yet.
I'll be reading Dead in the Family sometime in the next week or two.
Otherwise Beautiful Creatures, Breaking Nova and Dark Witch are all on my to-read list sometime soon :)

I don't have any particular dates. I tend to read fast so I can shift other non BR books around to fit any dates you want. Maybe we should see if anyone else wants to join in on those.
Want to start Dead in the Family this Friday (11/7)? We'll still get credit for it as long as you don't read it all in a day. Mine is due back in 6 days :)
@Mods: Taryn and I, and anyone else who wants to join, are planning to read the D'Artagnan Romances in January (specific date undetermined). Could you please set a thread for the series?
Sarah wrote: "Sadie - I would read Memoirs of a Gaiesha with you...in February - if the challenge is still going."I would be interested in Geisha in February as well....I am scheduled up to the yazoo and then some lol
Vinny wrote: "I'm planning to read Gillian Flynn's Dark Places in mid-December. Would anyone like to join me?"I just read it a few weeks ago, so won't be able to re-read, but if you get one going, I'd like to participate in the discussion. I don't know anyone who's read it so I've been curious of other's perspectives on it!
Tara- Alright, lets see if anyone else wants to read the book. Do join in the discussion if the BR occurs.

I'd like to read it in February as well, particularly if the challenge is still going on (I hope it is).

Yes, I have always wanted to read this, but February may be the earliest I can get to it with the other buddy reads happening. Even if the challenge is over I will join.
Vinny wrote: "I'm planning to read Gillian Flynn's Dark Places in mid-December. Would anyone like to join me?"I'm in! Have you decided a date yet?
Sadie, I'd like to join you for Memoirs of a Geisha as well. February will be great for me. Do let me know when we start. And I'm going to be reading A Game of Thrones in the 1st week of January. Will that be fine for you?
Shinjini wrote: "Vinny wrote: "I'm planning to read Gillian Flynn's Dark Places in mid-December. Would anyone like to join me?"I'm in! Have you decided a date yet?"
Not yet. But planning to read sometime in December, preferably in the middle of the month. Do you have any preferences?

If you don't mind, can we do it in the first week itself? I'll be a little busy 9th onwards.

I'm hesitant to read
...main reason is I really struggled with both
and
. I don't know if it was the writing style or what, but both books took me almost a week to read and I typically knock out a book in 3 days or so. I'll consider it, but maybe I need some time apart from Ms. Flynn before I try!
Sadie, February 5th works for me. And will we be waiting for others to join for A Game of Thrones or shall we request the thread?
Shinjini- First week will be fine with me. :)Stephanie- That's great! Will first week of December work for you?
Ashley- I want to read that as well. After reading Gone Girl, I'm eager to read all other books by Flynn. So if there's a BR for Sharp Objects, I'd gladly join.
Shinjini wrote: "Sadie, February 5th works for me. And will we be waiting for others to join for A Game of Thrones or shall we request the thread?"I'm in for the GoT BR.
Alright Sadie. Let's wait a while then. If you put in the request later, that would be great by the way. Thanks.Vinny, that's great. It's on then. Are we going for an informal or relaxed buddy read?

Alright. That makes it 4 of us. You, Stephanie, Shinjini and me.
I'm picking up Wolf from the library today, and The Winter People should be there early next week. I don't know how many people are ahead of me for The Dinosaur Feather.
If anyone is interested in reading one of these three in the next month (or longer, for The Dinosaur Feather) let me know.
Vinny, let's do a relaxed one then. I like putting questions as I go. Will that be alright with you?
