Close to Home by Robert Dugoni While this is not the best book in the series, it is still a good read. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I've started Artemis and I was really hesitant since scifi isn't my usual thing and people don't seem too excited about the book. Nothing much happened during the initial 16% but it's easy enough to read and I like the main character. I'm relieved this won't be a journey to finish, phew.

You know those people you enjoy except when they relate intimate details to you a little too loudly in public? CRINGE! That's Audra.
Katherine Heiny's new Standard Deviation is a lot of fun.

Adrian wrote: "My request for Artemis has been pending since the middle of July!!"Oh, no! I hope you get it! I was afraid they'd reject mine since this is not my genre and I didn't have anything from this publisher for a long time. I'm not in love with the book yet, either. But I do hope you get it. :(
Just finished reading Two Sisters by Kerry Wilkinson. Check out my review for this title and other novels I have read on my blog, reneewellwood.wordpress.com
I decided I wasn't very interested in Dan Mooney's demons in Me, Myself and Them. 2.5★

Sadly, I'm obviously not the audience for The Girl from Munich by Aussie author Tania Blanchard.

Just wondering if any of you have received ARCs of these 2 books by Devney Perry via NetGalley. It has been almost 3 months and I'm still waiting for a response. I even asked NG a month ago to contact/nudge the publisher, but all I got was a NG reply of sometimes it just takes awhile. It has taken so long I read library copies when they became available, so for the first time ever my NG review is ready and waiting long before my ARC request was denied or approved.

I don't have the contact, but the situation has repeated way too many times for me lately with a number of other publishers.
Have just finished
Every Dead Thing by John Connolly and was stunned. Complex, intriguing, enthralling. My no spoilers review https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Loved Frank who saves people with music - vinyl only! - in The Music Shop by Rachel Joyce, who is well-known for another favourite of mine and others, The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry. I'm happy to say Frank and his friends are equally wonderful characters.
4.5★ Link to my review of The Music ShopIf you're interested in Harold Fry, I gave him 5★

Had a couple of good reads recently, but this wasn't one of them. Emma in the Night by Wendy Walker. It did fill a challenge slot, though. :)

Prepare for an education in comparative religion....took my time to digest the material.
It's really good to read an author that enjoys his/her research.
I agree I love his writing.

I'm almost finished with
The Freedom Broker. This will be a hard review to write... I can't even say if the problem is me or the book. Though it's not really bad, it'll probably be 3 stars but rounding up. I just don't get that thrill while reading.
I have just finished a read that was meant to be suspenseful and wasn't.
The Blackbird Season by Kate Moretti https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
