The House on Seventh Street by Karen Vorbeck Williams. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I knew I'd love it and I did! Elizabeth Strout is one of my favourite authors, and her latest book, Anything Is Possible, is another winner.
Great stories about vulnerable people. My review

Just finished Charles Donlea's latest offering
The Girl Who Was Taken which overall was a good read. My review https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I'm halfway through Messy Beautiful Friendship
, and I'm having mixed feelings about it. I love a lot of what the author says, but I feel like it's just not fully developed or explored from multiple perspectives enough... hopefully she surprises me in the second half. :)
I'm reading Roses of May by Dot Hutchison The collector #2. I actually read the first one last year also from Netgalley (The Butterfly Garden).I'm enjoying it so far.
Have started Graeme Simsion's new one The Best of Adam Sharp, which I did read is nothing like his famous The Rosie Project books. I think they're right - it isn't. Not bad so far, though.
I just started Popular: The Power of Likability in a Status-Obsessed World yesterday and I'm finding it fascinating so far
Just finished
From the Heart by Susan Hill I have loved every book of hers that I have read and although this is vastly different to her other works it completely absorbed and enchanted me. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
In The Best of Adam Sharp, Aussie Graeme Simsion, author of The Rosie Project, tackles the question:Is it possible to rekindle the love of your life a couple of decades later? (nothing to do with Rosie)

The 7th Canon by Robert Dugoni Another excellent effort from a consistently good author. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
Joyce Carol Oates is famous for her quirky mysteries, and these short stories are certainly that. Dis Mem Ber and Other Stories of Mystery and Suspense.Still available till August.

I'm currently reading The Alabaster Hip and aside from the atrocious cover and weird title, I am loving it 😃Also, I just got an email that my first request was approved (YAY) so I'll soon start The Lost Book of the Grail.
Islam isn't sexist and feminism isn't "Western". Old cultural practices are just that - old. Susan Carland's new book (still available on NetGalley) Fighting Hislam: Women, Faith and Sexism explains it well. Don't blame religion for bad behaviour!

Not a particularly satisfying read.
A Darker Sky by Mari Jungstedt https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...
I'm reading The Radium Girls: The Dark Story of America's Shining Women
. Very good, but shocking and sad.
I just started The Joy Plan: How I Took 30 Days to Stop Worrying, Quit Complaining, and Find Ridiculous Happiness. Seems like it's gonna be a quick read. We'll see...
I just finished
.After hearing so much I expected to be amazed but wasn't. It's still a nice thriller.
I just read a re-release of the 1979 Whitbread award-winner The Old Jest: A Novel by Jennifer Johnston.1920 Ireland, 18-year-old Nancy itches for Life, discovers war.

Reading this one now, I also am not thinking that it's anything special, I'm 60% through :(
