Jessi (jazzykitty) | 1644 comments I put a few on there too but I'm cool with changing it up. Also, if we do completion posts again, then I can move things around as needed to make complete words.

First Day! That's exciting!!

No worries!! Im only halfway on mine too. But its short so should finish tonight!

message 210: by Cecily (new)

Cecily Black | 1805 comments I probably won't finish mine until tomorrow night. I am back to being at school for work again so I can't really read until after work now.

message 211: by Cecily (new)

Cecily Black | 1805 comments I actually finished it last night as the power went out and I had to stay up late to wait for it to come back on!

Jessi (jazzykitty) | 1644 comments Cecily wrote: "I actually finished it last night as the power went out and I had to stay up late to wait for it to come back on!"

And I ended up falling asleep last night before finishing. But I snuck some reading in at work and I finished. So as soon as Teri is finished with hers we can start or finish books that we already started for zone 3!

Happy reading!!

Jessi (jazzykitty) | 1644 comments Hello Ladies!! Last two days have been crazy busy but the spread sheet is updated.

What we have left:

Teri still has a W that she reserved, I have an I and O, there is still an I, O and N left on the spread sheet. We don't have to do every word I put up there but we have until tomorrow to finish. I know the deadline is 7am EST.

Round 3 has also been added to the spreadsheet if you guys want to start looking at the countdown since that also starts tomorrow!

Happy reading!

message 221: by Teri (new)

Teri | 678 comments I'm working on the W. I have slotted 3 books for Round 3.

message 222: by Sharon (new)

Sharon (sharon_alexandr) | 544 comments I put in two books for round 3 that I can start tomorrow. One of them is for the book has a detective whose initials are in the word poison. Do you think Stephanie Plum from Notorious Nineteen will work? Technically, she's a bounty hunter but she does solve mysteries.

message 223: by Teri (last edited Sep 08, 2019 01:54PM) (new)

Teri | 678 comments I finished Duck Duck Ghost for W, I will look to see if there is a shorty I can read for N, I, or O before tomorrow

message 224: by Jessi (new)

Jessi (jazzykitty) | 1644 comments Sharon, I will ask!

message 225: by Teri (new)

Teri | 678 comments Duck Duck Ghost can be used for:
D-title
R-Author's first name Rhys
F-Author's last name Ford
W-MC's first name wolf
T-MC's first name Tristan
S-Character Sey
C-Character cin
G-Character-Gidly

message 226: by Teri (new)

Teri | 678 comments Finished Vaant which works for:
V-Vaant for title
L-Layla author's first name
N-Nash author's last name
I-MC Isla
W-Character Witz
R-Character Rowen
M-Character Maisey
V-Character Violet
F-Character Frrar
D-Character Dyrgic
J-Character Jessalyn

message 227: by Teri (new)

Teri | 678 comments So, I was thinking that maybe Sugar Rush could be moved to O for Octavia the author, and Vaant could be moved to the I in "WITH" because the MC's name is Isla
if that helps something

message 228: by Jessi (new)

Jessi (jazzykitty) | 1644 comments @Sharon, the ruling for Stephanie Plum is a no. I did ask in the does this book work for the task.... thread and they were thinking no amateur detectives either. That would leave us with actual police detectives maybe. I don't know I think some of the others are bit too restrictive in this challenge.

Jessi (jazzykitty) | 1644 comments Round 3 has started!!! (About 3 hours ago!)

We did great last round and I'm excited for round 3!

There seems to be much discussion and debating going on about the detective task. Cat said that the detective does not have to be the main character. So if you read a cozy that's fine as long as the detective on the police force (or inspector and any other title) has a speaking part and their initials are in the word Poison it can be used. Also, private investigators will work as long as that's their main profession that they get paid to do.

That's why Stephanie Plum doesn't work. She's paid to be a Bounty Hunter which is primarily picking up bail jumpers and taking them to jail. But the police detectives who are investigating that she kinda helps would be eligible as long as their initials fit the requirements.

I found a book on KU that fits for this task so you can take one of mine that I already had marked down or if you find another book that fits this task let me know. I will hold off on it for now.

Jessi (jazzykitty) | 1644 comments Good morning!! (At least for me it's morning!)

The mods have posted the timer for the countdown tasks Here!

We have a little less than a day to finish the 10 countdown tasks.

Check in and let me know where you're at with your books and if you can't finish then let me know asap so someone can try to get a book in!

I will finish Eat, Pray, Love this evening after work but I could listen to an audio at work if I need to cover a task.

message 236: by Sharon (new)

Sharon (sharon_alexandr) | 544 comments I have about 6 hours left in the audio for Revenge of the Spellmans, so that shouldn't be a problem. I made pretty good headway last night in Nobody's Fool, and I'll work to get that done ASAP (might require some reading at work, but that's ok with me!!).

Great!! I'm going to listen to Jane Eyre on audio and it's over 500 pgs so if you have any issues with Nobody's Fool I can substitute mine in. Doesn't matter to me though I enjoy reading Jane Eyre so I'm good either way.

message 238: by Teri (new)

Teri | 678 comments I’m pretty close to being done with American Traditional and I can most likely get The Body Reader this evening as well. I will stay up and get it done

Just don't exhaust yourself!

message 240: by Cecily (new)

Cecily Black | 1805 comments I have finished my tasks but if someone needs to give one to me I can handle it. I am just reading for another challenge while we wait atm

message 241: by Teri (new)

Teri | 678 comments Done with American Traditional, working on The Body Reader now

message 242: by Teri (new)

Teri | 678 comments done with the body reader and I LOVED it! Gah, gonna have to continue that series for sure!!!

message 243: by Jessi (new)

Jessi (jazzykitty) | 1644 comments Hopefully it will work for some letters!! I love it when I find a series that I can’t wait to keep reading!!

message 244: by Jessi (new)

Jessi (jazzykitty) | 1644 comments Sharon how are you doing on yours?

message 245: by Teri (new)

Teri | 678 comments After section 2, are we going section 1 or straight to spelling out words?

Aren't volcanic craters beautiful?

Unfortunately, you are in CRATER and have failed to complete the countdown tasks before our countdown.

This means you have been sprayed with some hot lava and lose 10 points for each book in the countdown stage not completed.

You can chose to finish your countdown books during this round for the 10 points per book, OR you can move straight on to the SafeZone groups...

If you have a book in progress for Countdown, but didn't finish it before the Countdown hit zero then you can use that book for the SafeZone - no penalties will accrue in that instance only, but the timing constraints of the SafeZones will apply (i.e. if you use it for SafeZone 3, make sure you finish it only after you have completed SafeZone 1 and/or 2)

message 247: by Jessi (new)

Jessi (jazzykitty) | 1644 comments We could even do zone 1 first? It would give Sharon an opportunity to use her two books for that zone if they fit. Or we could do zone 2, then 1, then 3?

message 248: by Sharon (new)

Sharon (sharon_alexandr) | 544 comments I'm SO sorry!!!!! I thought I had until 9pm tonight - I was thinking EST not AEST. I did finish, but not before the countodown. I can look and see how they fit into the zones.

message 249: by Sharon (new)

Sharon (sharon_alexandr) | 544 comments My books will work for letters in Zone 1, but not any of the tasks in Zone 2.

message 250: by Jessi (new)

Jessi (jazzykitty) | 1644 comments No worries. It was just 10 pts and we can make them up in round 4.

Ok so we will start with safe zone 1 then 2 then 3. Two of the books for zone 1 will need to be past BOM or a book another team has read.

Sharon go ahead and put your books on zone 1!
