QOTD: How many books did you read in October? What was your favorite and least favorite reads of the month?

Even though I still gave it three stars, I think Permafrost by Eva Baltasar was my least favorite.
I have a few favorites from the month:
Garlic & the Vampire by Bree Paulsen
Mapping the Interior by Stephen Graham Jones
Never Whistle at Night edited by Shane Hawk and Theodore C. Van Alst Jr.
Honorable mention:
Open Throat by Henry Hoke

.
I read 8 books in October.
Favorite was The English Assassin by Daniel Silva. 5 stars
Least favorite was If the Shoe Fits by Julie Murphy. 2 stars

i read 6. i enjoyed the majority of what i read but my favorite was probably the hellbound heart by clive barker and my least favorite was the grip of it by jac jemc but i still ended up giving that 3 stars

I read three, favorite was definitely And Then There Were None, least favorite (but still very good) was The Suspicions of Mr Whicher

Iron Flame by Rebecca Yarros
Shadow Baron by Davinia Evans
The Olympian Affair by Jim Butcher

in my bed with the blinds/curtains open so i can see outside

On my couch with a blanket and some sort of beverage.

outdoors

It's my fav time of year to sit at the park and read.

Indoors

I currently don't have anywhere to sit outdoors to read, so indoors.

Pumpkin spice latte and probably a very basic, mainstream book like a Colleen Hoover lol
QOTD: November marks the beginning of the holiday season. What's a book that gets you into the festive spirit?

I don't have a preference lol. I'm down for either.

Adventurous journeys.

I'd say adventurous journeys for November. My cozy small town settings in books usually happen in December.
QOTD: Share a book that makes you feel as warm and content as a favorite November sweater, and why.

Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistle Stop Cafe by Fannie Flagg
And in a bad way
The Godfather by Mario Puzo

the only family saga i can think of that i've read is homegoing by yaa gyasi but i really enjoyed it and i recommend it
QOTD: November is a time for comfort reads. What book do you turn to when you need literary coziness?

I like something I've read before, maybe as a kid or teen that I remember loving and the story is already familiar. Or recently, a cozy mystery that's also clever and well executed without being cheesy.

the only book i've pretty consistently re-read this time of year (usually in december though) is little weirds by jenny slate but i think howls moving castle by diana wynn jones would be a nice comfort read to revisit
