Question of the Day

5. Only two of them were decent though.

I want to finish--I Have Some Questions for You by Rebecca Makkai
The Blackwater Lightship by Colm Toibin
The Night Ship by Jess Kidd
A Very Merry Bromance by Lyssa Kay Adams (I need to read Isn't It Bromantic? first, but I don't know if I'll get to it.)

Well, November went so poorly, I only have a few books planned for December.
TBR December
Planned
- The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan
- Deadhouse: Life in a Coroner's Office by John Temple
- The Journal of Professor Abraham Van Helsing by Allen C. Kupfer

house of leaves by mark z danielewski is the only one i'm sure about. if i get the chance i'd like to get to white horse by erika t wurth and ring by koji suzuki though

The Holiday Swap by Maggie Knox
The Priory of the Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon - I still need to finish before the year is over.
There are some other books that I've started and I'd like to finish and there are also some Christmas-themed books I'd like to read during the month to be festive. I'm not sure what all I will get to/feel in the mood to read.

crying in h mart, but overall i had a pretty good reading month

The Wonder Boy of Whistlestop. It was my first Fannie Flagg even though I've seen the Fried Green Tomatoes movie about a hundred times. Cute, heartwarming story though.

Idk if it's really a "bucket list" but the first good snow day I get to spend at home I have a tradition of watching the 2008 BBC Persuasion adaptation, the 1995 Pride and Prejudice, or having a Doctor Who marathon with hot tea and biscuits.
QOTD: Do you have a favorite Christmas song? Or a song you enjoy listening to during the winter season?

last christmas by wham probably. traditional christmas song wise i always get let it snow stuck in my head around this time of year so i guess that one too lol

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas by Mel Tormé from Home Alone.

A few that I saw that was coming out that I'd be interested in reading are:
• Witcha Gonna Do

• The Key to My Heart

• Anastasia

• The Ingenue

• The Lost Witch

• The Valentine's Hate

A few things on my winter bucket list:
• I'd like to go look at Christmas lights – maybe Lights Under Louisville
• Make my own hot cocoa recipe/mix
• Visit a Christmas tree farm
• Try a new cookie recipe
• Play some cozy games
• bundle up and go for a winter nature walk/hike
• buy a puzzle & complete it
• make a cozy music playlist
• reflect on the year & prepare for the new year

Anastasia looks good. I have added it to my TBR list. I have never read anything by Sophie Lark. It will be nice to try a new author.

I have always liked Jingle Bell Rock.
QOTD: What is your favorite festive drink during the Christmas season, or your favorite drink of choice during the winter season?

hot chocolate

I love a good London Fog in winter, though it's available year round.

I'm terrified of ice skating, so I'll go with sledding.

sledding. i think i'd seriously injure myself trying to ice skate. even though i roller skate, something about ice skating feels way more scary to me lol

Ice skating is scary, and i don't like sledding. Basically, if theres snow on the ground my idea of a fun winter activity is to stay inside lol

I find alot of inspiration in literature. Ulysses by Alfred Lord Tennyson is especially inspiring to me.
"Tho' much is taken; much abides. And tho' we are not now that strength which in old days moved Earth and Heaven, that which we are, we are. One equal temper of historic hearts, made weak by time and fate but strong in will. To strive, To seek, To find, and not to yield."

redigesting past regrets
Or you can come to terms and realize you’re the
only one who cannot forgive yourself
It make much more sense to live in the present tense
“Present Tense” — Pearl Jam

I'll go with winter-themed and say Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. It's winter in the movie, and Thanksgiving is close enough to Christmas lol.

Die Hard. It takes place at a Christmas party.

the nightmare before christmas probably
