all I can really say about Kissing Sin is that its STILL a stupid cliff hanger. GGRRR. Ok, sorry, but I really hate series where they make you read book after book after book to get to the final resolution. Just tell us who DID it already, then go on to OTHER adventures. Sigh. I always feel like when they do the cliff hanger thing that they really meant for this to be a 20k page book or something. Reminds me a bit of some of the Victorian writers who got paid by the word, so they never used a single word if they could use 20, ya know? But the story line itself was fairly good. 4 stars

I was at the used bookstore yesterday, and had a copy of Stray in my hands and then put it back. Now, I'm wishing that I just bought it; it was only $1.75. Seeing you give it 5/5, I'll obsess until I get a copy. They also had Prey too. Do you know if the characters in that series are reoccurring or not?

Yeah, I tried to resist b/c I know I over indulge when it comes to books, but now I've seen the light! Even though its cheaper, its definitely good to go when you're able to spend $$, that way you don't have to decided between one book or the next.

Yeah, I'd like to read Stray too. I'll end up going back to the used bookstore today. Lately, I think I've spent more time reading reviews than actually reading my challenge books.

IF you have stray books then most used bookstores take them in trade and give you store credit to use for future purchases. Each store is different--some will let you use the entire amount in store credit if you have it, others require that you pay half of the store price and use credit for the other half. Check your local used bookstores--and lest we forget them THRIFT STORES. You wouldn't believe the bargains you can sometimes get in there. I picked up 7 of the Stephanie Plum hardbacks--looked like they had never even been READ--for 50cents each in a thrift store. Remember to check out those St. Vincent de Paul, Salvation Army, Goodwill, Oddfellows etc, etc, etc store folks.

@ Sam: Sorry, I forgot to mention the trading that takes place at the used bookstore like Ann mentioned. So, funds may, or may not be necessary. I've never tried the thrift stores. I'll be sure to check them out some time soon. Hardcover for $0.50 can't be beat. Also, I went to the Dollar Store just to get a bottle of water, and was surprised to see how many pnr books they had. That's where I bought a few Amanda Ashley novels.

Well, that's my third Riley Jenson in a row--time to take a break and read something else. Not sure what, but something. I still have 2 more in my list for this month, but I'm going to take a break from them anyway--mainly because while the next book in the series is on my list, the second is the LAST book of the series that I have from the library--so I actually would have to read 4 more of them to finish off the list. I'm thinking something amusing and light for the next book. And, possibly something NOT on my list. Sigh, so many books, so few hours in the day.

After reading reviews of A Rush of Wings by Adrian Phoenix, I just know that I'm in the minority by not giving 5 stars. I loved the mythology, but the overall story just felt a little drawn out to me. As for the relationship between the two main characters, there just wasn't any build up, no tension prior to. I wasn't rooting for them as a couple or anything. I do think A Rush of Wings would make a better movie than a book, does that make sense?

Well, none of you have read Nice Girls Don't Date Dead Men or at least, not that I've found--so I read it. The chapter headings are a scream--they are supposed to be excerpts from Mating Rituals and Love Customs of the Were. They are just wonderful. Chapter 2's Heading From were-weasels to werewolves, weres are territorial creatures. Once a pack has established a home, they will not leave that location for generations, until the local food sources have been depleted or they're burnt out by angry farmers. Or, chapter 5's warning Hostility to human males marrying into were clans is to be expected and taken seriously. Potential sons-in-law may want to carry wolfsbane or silver items in their pockets. Weres find both substances to be extremely irritating. The chapter headings for this book will tell you everything (important) that you need to know before you start dating that handsome--or beautiful--were of whatever type.

Sigh, not I have to wait til January for the next book. :o(

Just finished Halfway to the Grave--what took me so long to start this series? I loved this book! I am already sad that there are only 4 so far in the series, but was happy to read that 7 are expected and there will be many spin off stand-alone books that will parallel the Night Huntress story line!

My thoughts on the Immortal Instruments - Enjoyed the plot although somewhat predictable, found the writing hard to follow in some bits, overall I thought it was worth the read.

Another one bites the dust! I finished Red-Headed Stepchild and I am so glad I bought this on a whim! It was a really interesting take on the myths and characteristics of vampires. I also loved the characters. It's funny, fast-paced, hilarious, touching. What's not to like? I'm excited for the sequel! :D

Isn't this on your list too Michelle M.? You should definitley bump it up and read it..... after Dark Lover of course. lol

I'm actually planning on that one next, Amelia! I'm reading something a little more fluffy after all the random dying in Vincent's book. But good to hear that Stepchild got your stamp of approval.

Being a redhead, I totally don't mind, but isn't it crazy how many of these heroines have red hair? Apparently, we're naturally at the center of violence and mayhem!

Lucy! I see that you have Halfway to the grave on your list--I read it yesterday and I Loved It! The main characters are so much fun--there is mystery, romance and the book is funny too! Hope you like it as much as i did!

A spin-off series starts this February with a book called FIRST DROP OF CRIMSON. I don't know when she'll publish book 5, yet. :( I can only hope it will be next year, but I don't see a date on her website.
