Nichole--I am a huge true blood fan, so books 1 and 2 of the sookie stackhouse were not as good as i expected. Once I finished book 3, i was HOOKED and i read the rest of the series at lightening speed. I was actually depressed when I was done. I'm not sure how far into the series you got, but I would giev it another shot if I were you.

Hated Jason.
I kept an open mind about Bill but he just came off as a total creeper with no personality. He says weird shit out of nowhere throughout the book and I'm like .... Huh? lol I honestly prefer him in the show and I don't like him in that either.
I'm looking forward to getting past the next book and getting a fresh view on the third, since I won't know what's going to happen. :)

Bad Kitty is a YA book. My husband kept making "would you please STOP snorting like that, I'm trying to watch a football game here, and your laughing hysterically is bothering me" noises. I enjoyed this, especially the "footnotes" where Jas (our main character) and/or her friends are carrying on a "secret" conversation during the action.
I also read Secondhand Spirits. The whole time I was going "didn't I just READ this?" Since I checked the book out from the library the answer was--no. But it was almost exactly the same story that I'd read in like 4 different books about a witch/psychic who owns a vintage clothing store and deals with paranormal activity and mysteries. Ok tale, but not something I'm going to have to buy for my perma-library. (Unless I find it at a yard sale or something for a quarter--then I'll probably buy it.)

Amelia, book Jason is indeed an idiot. And not in a fun way. But at least he didn't have that stupid Amy relationship, V-user status in the book.

But, just as there are leagues of us who find Bill somewhat creepy, there are still lots of folks who hope he and Sookie walk off into the moonlight together. I'm presuming that is why the publishers railed against it. With so many new people coming to the series because of True Blood and being in love with the Super Bill depicted there, they probably didn't want any deaths bursting the Bill-lovers' bubbles.But rest assured, she also said she'd never be swayed again.
Of course, it's speculation that the intended death was Bill's but...
I shan't say more, since Amelia is only starting the series! But Amelia, it only gets better!

I gave the first Riley Jensen book Full Moon Rising 4.5 stars. I did enjoy it, but I really HATE "cliff-hanger" endings. Other than that, it was good, but that problem deducted a full half point.

I trust you Michelle. lolI'm a tad over halfway through Moon Called now. Did you read this book? If so Does it get better as it goes along?
As in the first Mercy Thompson book? Yes. That one is slow-going for a lot of the book, but by the end, you should be pretty hooked on the characters. But the charm of that whole series is that the characters' personalities are pretty realistic. Mercy is sensible and down to earth and knows her limitations, Adam is alpha and a great leader without needing to be an overbearing pratt...relationships also move more like real-time, so don't get yourself geared up for nookie yet!

Amelia - I thought Moon Called was a bit slow but each books gets better. I enjoyed the second book and by the end of the third book I was bawling and totally addicted to the series.

One down, eight to go (finally!). For me, Hunting Ground moved a little slow in the beginning. But, I love Patricia Briggs, and trusted that it would get better, and of course it did. I really like that her heroines, Anna especially, tend to be realistic, and humble despite their supernatural abilities. They're not all-knowing, tough talking, invincible witches, and are actually pretty likeable. The villian in this one wasn't obvious for me until he/she was revealed, I had a totally different scenario worked out, and was way off base. I don't mind being wrong when it comes to book endings. I'm really looking forward to the next one in the Alpha and Omega series.

I guess I mean nothing good was happening and the character who the book's perspective was from just like hated her life and wasn't wiling to try and be happy. I guess it was like a rainy day that didn't end in a rainbow lol

I can understand when a character takes a while to come to terms with something but if they never seem to grow up and out of that it becomes frustrating. Thanks, maybe I'll just skip it. I've got like, 800 other books to read anyway! ; )
