I thought the movie was fantastic and I always try to read the book before I watch the movie because obviously the book is better 99% of the time. I am not even upset one bit that I watched the movie first because they both were equally awesome. I am, however, a little mad at myself that it took me this long to pick the darn book up. Overall four stars because I loved it but I felt there could've been more to it. I do deffffffinatly recommend this to everyone though!

Carrots was a cute and entertaining read and fell in love with the character of Shelby pretty quickly. We meet Shelby when she is in the grocery store to pickup some carrots to go with her dinner and she is shot in an robbery attempt. Once Shelby wakes up she learns her life is about to change in a pretty interesting way. I liked that Shelby was a quick thinker and quick on her feet. She was also a little impulsive and often didn't think things through first but it just made you like her character even more. We soon learn that as a result of Shelby having a bullet graze her head she can now hear people's thoughts. I think from there this is where the fun starts for this one and it was such a cute read.
As the story continues we get to me Shelby's husband Chris and learn that the new girl, at work has the hots for him. I will say that since Shelby can read the girl's thoughts she handled things way better than I would have. I would have hurt her and not put up with all that Shelby did but you soon realize it's because she is trying cover up the fact she can hear her thoughts. The new chick has a mom boss for an Uncle in the form of Uncle Johnny and this is when things start to go downhill for Shelby because she gets tangled up with him and has to start working for him and using her new ability. I loved that Shelby was such fun character because she starts wearing a disguise to help with her sleuthing and she gets to work with a hit man named Ramos. I liked the character of Ramos because he was a hit man with a heart if there is such a thing.
Overall as the plot thickens and everything starts to unfold Shelby has to be really quick on her feet if she wants to survive this all in the end. This was an entertaining read with lots of laugh out loud moments and it reads me a lot of a Stephanie Plum read but that is what makes it all worth it. If you are looking for a quick fun read that will entertain you throughout you should pickup this book. I am interested in reading the rest of this series and seeing what it is in store for Shelby.

I really enjoyed this book. It was little slow for the first couple of chapters, however after that it picked up and I got into the book and characters. Ivy is trying to find her sister who was kidnapped. The last thing she knows is where her sister was because of a text. While searching for her sister, she sees images that disturb her. She thinks they are hallucinations, however later finds out that she sees supernatural beings under their disguise.
Ivy finds out that she has a destiny to fulfill. She is told that she needs to recover one of three weapons that will destroy demons and that she can use that rescue her sister. While on this search, she learns that the man (Adrian), who is helping her, is destined to betray her.
Ms. Frost is putting these two through misery right now. Their attraction to each other is growing even though they know they have opposing destinies. Ivy wants to try to save Adrian from his, and Adrian feels that there is nothing he can do to fight it. At the end of the book, Ivy finds out that there is a chance Adrian can beat his destiny.

I will make up for it tonight and have my review posted by tomorrow.

Review - I loved this one!! Carrow has been abducted by The Order - who wants to eliminate immortals. They also manage to capture her niece Ruby. If Carrow brings back Malkom, a venom, The Order has been unable to attain. They will free her and Ruby. Malkom has never known a female, never had friends or a family - Malkom has been betrayed by everyone he has ever met or had in his life. He only allows people to betray him once - as he then kills them. Watching him court her was adorable. Especially since she does not speak much Demonish and he doesn't remember Anglish. Carrow feels terrible having to betray Malkom but she can't not save Ruby. Seems like this book will be setting up at least two possibly three of the next books. Regin's, Lothaire's and Lanthe's.

I'll probably be done quicker this next week. Holiday weeks are horrid for me at work. 5 days of work crammed into four and I have end of month billing to take care of too :(
Hosting RL bookclub tomorrow night so there is a big glass of wine in my future!! *whispers* I just have to finish the book - and I'm not liking it - oh well, lol

I sent Amy and message and she replied and said her review would be up sometime today so we are doing good. Good job team.

Review:
An intriguing book by one of my favorite authors. The storyline seems to be a bit unique at least to me as I haven't come across one like it. To save their four kids from attack, the king and queen of Elden scattered them for their safety with only a timepiece to connect them. Compared to Ms. Showalter's other books, this probably would not rate high, but I rated more compared to what she was writing to which is a Harlequin Nocturne and for that genre it was a pretty good book. Being the first novel, there is a lot of detail thrown in, and some repeating which takes away from the book. Nicolai, the very sexy vampire who has been sex slave calls to Jane (heroine) in her dreams to help him. Nicolai has no memory but he knows he needs to get free and get revenge. Nicolai is an uber alpha and I think his most favorite word was "mine" (to Jane). Jane on the other hand, I went back and forth because for a really smart person, she did some things that I just couldn't understand the reasons for it. The first half built up the book so nicely that I was a little disappointed with the repetition, I think the author was trying to really lay down the foundation for the future books, but I wasn't really feeling it. As a full novel, it might have been totally worth 5 stars, but either the word count or so much information being cramped into a harlequin set pages, it makes it tough for a book to be as good as we expect Ms. Showalter to put out, but its still worth reading.

Steph,
Are you going to roll for us tonight once all the reviews are in or do you want me to roll in the morning? Ladies I will update Message 5 like I did last week.

What an amazing book! I really liked how everything unfolded. It was quite an enjoyable read! I was literally on the edge on my seat towards the end when the main character confronted the psychotic murderer. After reading this, I now want to watch the movie, Inception because the book summary states this is Inception meets the Wake trilogy by Lisa McMann!
