This was another great book in the Cooking Class mystery series! It was a nice light mystery. Towards the end, where the main character and her best friend found themselves in danger, I couldn't stop reading and wanted to know how and when they make it to safety. Of course, they ended up safe and sound. Now, on to the fifth and final book in this series!

This is the first book that I read from this author. I really enjoyed it. I like the fact that she did a Native American spin for how vampires were created. In this series, vampires are hunted and enslaved by humans. At this point in the series, vampire slaves are only for the extremely wealthy (there’s a hint that it may change if corporations have their choice). The author touches on a very sensitive subject in regards to slavery and some of the depravities the “owners” will do because they feel they have every right to. Nicole Martin has her world turned upside down when she is kidnapped by vampires and held hostage in order to get back one for their healers who has been taken by her corporation. Nicole eventually comes to the realization that the corporation she took over from her father does some horrible and illegal things for progress and also that her half-brother is willing to let her die if it will benefit him. With her new reality, she also finds that she is attracted to a vampire and slowly learns that vampires aren’t really that different from humans with their wants and desires. This is a series that I will continue to read and hopefully enjoy.

I absolutely loved this. I understand much more about the Luxen, and now Origin species. In my opinion, Dawsons and Bethanys surprise is just going to be a disaster. Therefore, I cannot wait to pick up the next book and see what happens!

4th of Iron Druid Chronicles
3.5 - rounded up to 4 ♥'s for GR
I love this series. Atticus and Oberon never fail to put a smile on my face - Hey SnugglePumpkin. Atticus has to fake his death to get away from the Norse Gods he pissed off in the last book. Coyote helps him with this but the Atticus owes him a favor. Never a good idea to owe a trickster a favor. Lots of twists and some surprises happen in this one. Looking forward to the next in the series.

I now have a new heroine and her name is Kallie. This book was full of awesome and then some. I loved that Kallie was such a force and her hoodoo skills were amazing. She took nothing from anyone and played by her own rules. I loved all the hotness that was Layne too and can't wait to see where the next book takes them. This book has a little bit of everything from witches, hoodoo, magic, vessels, fairies and anything supernatural you can think of. I can't wait to have a chance to read book two.

Bernadette "Bernie" Hogan is a bodyguard for our hero Jeremy Bridges for a while, although she does not like him very much, she needs the job to help her mother. But after an attack on Jeremy, she loses her temper and quits but not before sleeping with him. She finds out she is pregnant and tells Jeremy, but Jeremy does not want to be an absentee father and becomes much involved. In the beginning, I really didn't like Jeremy, he seemed like an immature selfish person, but slowly throughout the book I began to like him, see his reasons. I just loved Bernie, a female bodyguard, how cool is that. She has a strong personality and she is a match for Jeremy. The plot is a typical one, but the characters really make you love this book.

I hope you like the conclusion. Did you know that an Obsidian movie is in the works? I first heard about it when I did a buddy read of Opposition.

I am really glad I picked this series up again. In this book, they wind up traveling to Georgia (the country) to see the protection of a shape shifter pregnant with twins from different fathers, in order to receive panacea, which helps prevent loupism. The pack knows it is a trap, but think it has something to do with Curran. Eventually, Kate realizes the trap is for her and everyone else is disposable.
Throughout the story there are other intrigues going on, however the one that affected Kate most was with Curran trying to protect her without telling and making her feel like she was less since he didn’t fill her in on his plan. I really wanted to knock Curran upside the head and completely agreed with Kate for still being angry after he explained himself even though she understood why.
I really liked this book even with the author killing off characters.

Ora - you liked it better than me:) I seriously wanted to throw my iPad across the room several times through out that book.

I could not be happier that I picked up this series. The twists and turns throughout the series have kept me on edge and kept me reading. I'm sad to see this end. I think it'd be interesting to follow Katy and daemon through their lives, maybe see them raise a kid.

I know it's wishful thinking, however I would love it if JA wrote a Black Christmas novella with updates on all the siblings and freinds.

Review: this is the third in a series. I wasn't aware until I started that the happenings in this book overlapped stuff in Pablo's book (#2). I should have read them back to back but....oh well. So we had found out in book 2 that Syren Rua is a double/triple agent. A man of mystery with many many secrets. Kane Ashby (Gabe's brother book #1) has been in Syren's sight since he watched over Gabe for Rafe. Syren has to learn to trust someone else with his secrets (and boy does he have many!) and Kane needs someone to help him get over his partner that died over 5 yrs ago. I love this series and how the author makes all the "bad" guys redeemable and the "good" guys not so good. I could totally hear Kane's growly voice and Syren's response(s). Personally for Kane's last f*ck up - personally I think Syren should have made him work harder/grovel more but that's just me - Kane was an ass. But he makes up well for it in the novella of them after this book. All the in between novellas are awesome epilogue-like peeks at the characters who've been paired up in previous books.

This was an amazing book! There was a lot of stuff happening which was never really a dull moment. This book ends on a cliffhanger and I really want to know what is going to happen next! I heard from some people that the next book coming out next year might be the final book in the Lorien Legacies series. I really want Setrakus Ra to die in the next book because I really hate that evil Mogadorian leader for all the evil stuff he has done!

I didn't think Kane was an ass. He believed what his eyes told him. What was he supposed to do, let Syren tell him "you didn't see what you thought you saw". I know you saw me, but it wasn't really me....
you gotta give him a break. Plus, Syren has told so many half truths and lies by omission coupled with his Flight when uncomfortable steez. No wonder Kane would draw the very reasonable conclusion that Syren wanted to create some space or push him away.
I don't know if I would stick around to hear my partner if I saw him with my own eyes. Because I don't want to give him the chance to confuse me or try to turn it around when I saw him.
If Syren really wanted Kane to know badly, he would have told Rafe/Angel or even JP and they would have gotten word to Kane. He could have left him a note/letter too. He was hurt so he punished Kane with his silence too. Plus, he didn't tell him about the girl.
Syren was a victim of a horrible crime, but he could have mitigated the fall out with KAne.
**okay, I will leave y'all alone now :D

I loved this book as it was so different from what I expected. Lily the main character has had it rough and she knows it. I am glad that things changed for her and she became such a strong character. The plot of this book was so cool and I got so sucked in by it all. I am hoping this will be a sequel.

My issue was with how many times Syren attempted to get a hold of him texting/calling/ leaving messages for him to call back etc before giving up attempting to tell him and go on with his life. For Kane to then act when he found out as if it was Syren's fault for not telling him - that's bullshit. Kane wasn't perfect either and Syren let him have his say when Kane screwed up with all of his Bailey's issues and it wasn't reciprocated. No clue why he didn't tell Rafe and/or Gabe - probably because he didn't really see anybody as his family except Isa and Henri plus he wasn't used to having anyone help him with his problems.
His child - I can totally understand why he didn't tell Kane. How are you as a parent supposed to introduce a young child to someone when you're not sure they are going to be permanent in your life - then you have to deal with your heartache along with your child's. I totally get not telling - especially with his lifestyle/job.
Anyway - all good - like I said Kane more than made up for it in their after novella.

I hope to read the novella this week. i read page one but then had to get to some BRs.
I already bought book 4 of Brooklyn sinners on audio and feel bad that I put money in Ellora Cave's coffers since they aren't treating their authors right...or so I've heard

Review:
A disappointed read in this series. Mary has come back to Connecticut to be with her grandfather who is sick (this we know from previous book in the series) and the book starts off at her grandfather's funeral where Kane shows up. Mary was Kane's mistress when she lived in Europe but broke it off when he decided to marry another woman. And now Kane has finally found her and wants her back. There were several problems in this book for me, first being that it read like a HP rather than a silhouette desire. Kane was a jerk in the past self, he wanted Mary for mistress and he wanted someone else for a wife and he is the one who gets angry that she is staying with another man after she breaks things off with him. He marries another woman and I think stays married for almost a year before getting it annulled because he cannot really live without the heroine and breaks things off with his family since they don't want that for him. Then he couldn't find the heroine and neither could the PIs he hired. Mind you, he was living in New York after her broke things off with his ex-wife and she was literally hours away especially since she has no family to speak of except her grandfather. In turn, Mary also is a character I couldn't fully like, she put up no fight and had no angst about getting back together, but rather meekly went back to a relationship with him. She has her own secrets too that she keeps putting it off even though there were many chances to confess and I found that annoying. Overall, it was by far the worst in the series and kept me wondering as to what was the point of even having it included. There is an ongoing mystery through out all the book and this book barely covered it as an after thought. I am just glad I got through it.
