These are a guilty pleasure for me. Nothing much new ever happens. But they make great, entertaining audio books and I'm a sucker for ghost stories. This one switched it up a bit in that both main characters were already in the FBI. Plus this one had a bit of an age gap between the 2 love interests. What I like about these is that while you know the bad guy(s) will be one of these characters they are around-she's not usually obvious as to which one. So it's sort of a surprise but not, if that makes sense.

We are getting deeper and deeper. Layers upon layers...The Charley that we see in the start of this book is still the same ol' Charley we have known for 7 books...this I believe is going the book that turns a new chapter (in many ways) for our dear MC.....character growth...sometimes it takes a life changing event and most times it's the hard changes and events that cause one to do so..
I'm looking forward to see how she does that in the up coming books..I just hope I'm not mistaken....
The better one to date.

Review: A good book, but I didn't enjoy it as much as the first. This one got a little too ridiculous in parts. I don't expect reality in books about ghosts and witches and demons, but too much eyerolling can ruin the experience. I do like that we learned some of Amelia's background. And I am intrigued by the cliffhanger at the end.

Shelf: Paranormal

Third book in series is my favorite so far. Amelia will be learning about her family and it's much more fast paced and dark which is good because although I like Amanda Stevens writing, it can be a little slow moving.

I like the dark and modern southern gothic vibe of this series. What else do you expect when the main character Amelia Gray is a graveyard restorer with extraordinary gift - she can see ghosts. Through the series her abilities have developed and as she learns more and more about her own family and ancestors, her job once again brings her to another old cemetery that has a hidden personal connection.
Eerie things start to happen, ghosts and entities trying to contact her and another old crime needs to be solved in order to help the ghosts pass over.
I can see Amelia getting even more confused about her abilities and sees it as a curse. Something dark is also happening with Devlin and their relationship is in danger.

I'm finding this to be a very entertaining series and really enjoy the narrator. I've even adopted "sloppy, sloppy, sloppy" into my regular lingo. My fear for this book is that the first love interest will come back and there will be a never ending love triangle between Gin, Donovan and Owen. Love triangles kill a series for me. Also hoping it isn't book after book of her trying to get Mab Monroe. That also gets tiring to me. So far so good and loving the series.

I love these older (not that 1997 was that long ago) sci-fi futuristic romances. No surprises here. Even her characters seem to look a like from book to book. But they make very entertaining audio books so my house is exceptionally clean right now. Kind of sorry that kept this one as a trilogy. There's at least one very eligible bachelor in this one who probably wouldn't have made good book lead. I enjoy the 2 worlds she's set up on the different planets. I wish I was better at remember the connected Earth series because I know that some of these characters are descendants or branches of the same family tree of the paranormal series set on Earth.

Doing good. We just need Allison's DUF and Carrie's Paranormal books for those stamps. Unless I missed a review somewhere.

Review: These books just get better and better and yet sadder and sadder. Harry Dresden is his usual understated but snarky rockstar self, who makes me cry every time. The story really progresses (especially compared to the last book) and I never finish a book without wanting to immediately start the next. But I don't let myself, because there aren't many series as good as this one, and I like to savour them.
I need to do reviews immediately, my memory is wretched. :D

I haven't read the first one yet, though I am reading that it's not necessary. But I have a compulsion to read series in order and of course book 1 is not on the shelf. So.., not sure yet. (but I have both checked out already)

Switching my book again. I got picked to do some questions for this book in another group so now I need to get on the ball and read it:

Review: It's been a few years in between books 1 and 2 (I really need to stop doing that) and Mac is still trying to avenge her sisters death and uncovering more about herself in the process. Barons is still Barons....still intense and mysterious. I feel that the more Mac thinks she knows or learns in just adds another layer to everything she thinks, and that maybe she doesn't know as much as she thought. I can not wait to go on to book 3.

Review: It's funny how sometimes when a book is recommended too often, or too highly praised that I avoid it for a long time. Especially because I'm not a superfan of Kate Daniels, so I thought this book might be disappointing too. But it absolutely wasn't. Loved the story, the characters, everything. Fun, funny, exciting. So hard to delay finishing it for today, but now I can read the second book as fast as I want. Highly recommended, by a skeptic.

I used to read much more Romance books. Now I only pick up one for variety and quick easy read.
For some reason my last Romance reads have all been about royalty, so called modern Cinderella stories and they have been nice entertainment. Who doesn't like to meet her Prince Charming in real life!
Emma Chase books are light and funny. The hotness level is just right and not taking over the story. Good humor, likable main characters but I always enjoy her cast of side characters even more. They bring a lot of spice and fun.
All in all, cute story with happy ending!

I'll do some updating today. I think we are due another stamp.

Let's hope our next call helps us with a line, we are all over the place on our card. :)
